Portland and Seattle are my Home Cities. I have friends from HS that work in Portland PD, and family in Seattle PD.

My Friends/Family are either at, or approaching their Full Retirement. None say they would ever work for a city like PDX or SEA again if they had to do it over again. The relationship between PD and City has become toxic and adversarial.

Citizens are strongly divided in both cities, with the gap between Law and Order and No Law, No Order widening.

This is going to be a disaster. Older officers are holding out to retirement and leaving. Young officers are seeing better pay, better public support and a better environments at other cities and leaving.

The officers trapped in the middle are demoralized, unmotivated and under attack from all sides.

Businesses are leaving, people are leaving, the streets are empty except for trash and the homeless.... I hate what my cities have become.

I am pro law and order, but a point needs to be made.

The police in both cities vote Democrat just like their unions tell them to. This is what happens.

I don’t know why they’re leaving Portland and Seattle. Other more conservative towns might actually make them do their job instead of run.

There are videos of police from both departments mentioned standing by while Antifa beats the hell out of Trump supporters and only getting involved when the MAGA people fight back.

The residents of Seattle and Portland will continue voting D no matter what. They deserve what they get. The only people I feel bad for are the residents of conservative communities who are about to get an influx of these idiots fleeing the consequences of their decision making.

I grew up near Portland, it’s sad seeing what it’s become, it was always rough, but it’s just gotten worse over time.
