THE AVERAGE GUY IS PRETTY DISSATISFIED NOT ONLY WITH THE LOCKDOWNS AND SCHOOL CLOSINGS, THE ECONOMY, THE HIGHER TAXES, BUT IN CHICAGO ESPECIALLY WITH THE CRIME AND MURDER RATE. ELIZABETH: YEAH. MURDER RATE IS UP FROM LAST YEAR, AND THE SHOOTINGS ARE SKYROCKETING IN CHICAGO. AND BY THE WAY, THESE TWO DEMOCRATS BROKE THEIR OWN LOCKDOWN RULES THAT THEY DEMANDED FOR EVERYBODY. LORI LIGHTFOOT THREATENED TO THROW PEOPLE IN JAIL, AND SHE WENT TO A HAIR SALON, AND GOVERNOR J.B. PRETTY KERR, HIS FAMILY WENT TO FLORIDA AND WISCONSIN DURING HIS STAY AT HOME SHUTDOWN ORDERS, AND HE SAID YOU ASK ABOUT THAT YOU'RE, QUOTE, REPREHENSIBLE. >> HAVEN'T THEY ALL BROKEN THEM? I MEAN, GAVIN NEWSOM HAS GONE TO RESTAURANTS WHEN HE'S HAD RESTAURANT LOCKDOWN ORDERS. OF GOVERNOR CUOMO OF NEW YORK, HE'S GIVEN HIS OWN PERSONAL FAMILY PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT ON TESTING AND ON VACCINES. YOU'VE SEEN NOW WHAT YOU JUST MENTIONED IN ILLINOIS. I MEAN, YEAH, THEY'VE GOT BIG, TOUGH RULES FOR EVEN ELSE, BUT THEY'RE NOT FOLLOWING THEM THEMSELVES, AND THE HYPOCRISY OF IT, I THINK, ADDS TO THE DISSATISFACTION THAT THE AVERAGE PERSON IS FEELING. I THINK THIS EXAMPLE SHOWS THERE'S REALLY A LOT OF DISSATISFACTION, AND IT'S GOING TO SHOW UP IN THE POLLS, AND IT'S GOING TO SHOW UP IN THE 2022 ELECTION. ELIZABETH: INTERESTING. WHAT DO YOU SAY? >> YEAH. NOT ONLY THAT, LIKE, FOR EXAMPLE, YouTUBE HAS JUST TAKEN DOWN A PRESS CONFERENCE OF GOVERNOR DeSANTIS IN FLORIDA. THEY'RE CENSORING. I MEAN, THE SOCIAL MEDIA AND THE MEDIA, THE WOKE MEDIA, THEY'RE CENSORING FREE SPEECH AND FREE THOUGHT. BUT THE AVERAGE GUY ON THE STREET IS NOT TAKING IT. Pritzker and Lightfoot have both managed the pandemic very poorly
Pritzker kept Illinois locked down for 10 weeks whereas neighboring Indiana was only locked down about 6 weeks. I remember having to cross state lines just to get a haircut. Pritzker’s arbitrary restrictions on school sports led Illinois being the only state in the Midwest to not have high school football take place in the fall. Moreover, his “equity” focus on the vaccine rollout has led to a later date for eligibility compared to the general public. And what’s especially frustrating is his foreseeable endgame with the pandemic. He envisions lifting every Covid restriction except for the mask mandate once enough people are vaccinated and cases/hospitals stay down.
Lightfoot’s not much better. Crime in Chicago has gotten worse under her watch. And her pandemic response is primarily focused on optics. She’s concerned about a contrast where White people are living their lives and having fun in spite of the pandemic while black and brown people are dying from Covid due to their poor life choices. She closed the beaches for the entirety of last summer, and had the people they initially hired to be lifeguards enforce said closure. She tried to close a popular spot for people to anchor their boats until the coast guard told her to pound sand. Lightfoot implemented a toothless travel restriction for people arriving from high risk areas to quarantine despite knowing full well she lacked the resources to enforce it. And she only calls out the mostly White neighborhoods when Covid cases are rising there. There were prolonged periods where black and brown neighborhoods had positivity rates above 10-15% and she said nothing.
They both need to go, yet people in Chicago blindly vote Democrat so they’re likely here to stay

There were 780 homicides and over 4000+ shot in Chicago in 2020. Mayor Lightfoot has been a complete disaster. She blames "Covid" on the increase in homicides. It's funny that she and Gov. Jumbo Pritzker got booed on the South side.

Good. Her and fatso have been a complete disaster. People in Illinois keep voting in shitty politicians so I'm not totally surprised both of them are in office. Though I've moved away years ago, I like coming back to visit now and then and really hope it's not still like this in the fall.
