MASSIVE European Hornet Nest in Ceiling | Largest Hornet Nest Ever Removed! | Eating Hornets

sing it [Music] biggest european hornet nest i've ever done check it out [Music] hey everybody thanks so much for tuning in to check out this video this is a european hornet colony that made its nest in the ceiling of a client's home this nest was by far the largest european hornet nest i have ever removed that i have ever even got my hands on this nest was so big and it was built on the bottom portion of an old yellow jacket nest the client started smelling this really foul stench in her workout room it's right off the side of her bedroom and couldn't really figure out what it was and notice a little tiny stain on the ceiling while orkin had come out and checked on the area and noticed that there was european hornets but then referred the client to me because they couldn't do the removal and i could not believe what i had found they built that on top of an old yellow jacket the second that i got there i found the stain on the ceiling and i poked an exploratory hole there was about a foot of blown in insulation just above the ceiling so cutting in i mean it was just falling out just like you're seeing here the bloated insulation was just saturated with the excrement from the european hornets so as they excrete their excrement it was being absorbed into the wood rafters and the blown in insulation which caused it to leach into the drywall which is what the client was smelling but when i was removing this nest it was like sewage smell like it was just so intense you see the door this is the biggest european horror nest i've ever done i don't even really know how to grab it it's so big but this colony had to be the largest as far as numbers were concerned as well um there was probably over 800 european hornets in this colony just the adults not including larva pupating adults etc that is shoot and that's not all of it there's more up there by far the largest hornet's nest i've ever removed but there's a yellow jacket's nest above it so they built on top of a yellowjackets nest i am blown away by how big this is all the same colony it's all the same nest never done this with hornets before check out the slow motion so so of course i kept the nest intact i wanted to be able to show you guys the full mass of this nest i mean this thing was just so packed with larva and had such large amounts of cone that it was super super heavy look how large this nest is this is a beautiful heart-shaped nest this is the entire nest so this is the upper portion of cone that i pulled out and unfortunately i couldn't pull them all out at the same time so now i'm so now i'm connecting them back together that way you guys get a full idea as to how tall this nest was that is a monster this is the entire european hornet nest look at this and i think it was heavy too i mean you could just see me rustling around with it trying to get it out of the ceiling and picking it up off the table that's just [Applause] incredible so once i get them home i use my pry bar and separate the comb layers and that way i can get out and extract as much of the larva piece by piece as i can mostly males and new queens [Music] so [Music] [Music] hmm [Applause] hmm [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] oh all right ginger [Music] [Laughter] [Music] oh oh [Music] [Music] oh oh [Applause] [Music] oh [Laughter] [Music] alright everyone thank you so much for tuning in to check out this video if you guys enjoyed this content please consider liking sharing subscribing and i'll catch you guys on the next video

Not very spherical, because of how it formed in the house, it's more of a heart shape (<3) just a foot or so thick. you aren't able to see it fully before he pulls it out because of the way it's wedged in there.
