[Music] [Music] and now it's time for another dice tower review with tom vassell hey everybody i'm tom vessel and today i've already reviewed massive darkness this week and now i'm just looking at all the stretch goals stuff so this is just kind of a quick overview not a deep review i've messed with most of this stuff actually and i'm just going to show you some of the things i found interesting here let's take a look [Music] all right first there's the dark bringer pack and this is like best known as just more stuff it has some more quests that you're going to use i mean with this gigantic scorpion miniature as a new boss in the game it has some like winter boards which i actually really like these boards i think they're fantastic but i think that's just a nice addition to the game and then a ton more miniatures but if you want more variety in the base game this is going to give you a whole bunch of wandering monsters now note that these wandering monsters will go higher than normal and that's if you bought the campaign pack which i have not gotten um then the best thing in here though in my opinion is alternate heroes for each of the different classes in the game so we have two more wizards that you can pick from another paladin in fact this is a paladin that uses the rogue bag and this is a wizard that uses the arrows cards um we have the bard and a tanker these are extra people that can possibly be used um a monk necromancer but here's another shaman here which is just there's some neat extra characters in this set and then of course more monsters nagas and nymphs so the more stuff another thing that this does and you can look here at all the different miniatures that are in this set it also adds in some of the miniatures that are tokens so this is actually we're going to talk about this in a second for the tinkerer but also the elementals are in here um so we have not just the the big giant robots for the tinkerer but the different elementals instead of being tokens for the shaman now you can just have them run around and be kind of an elemental so i like having that sort of thing rainbow crossing is a silly campaign edition which i really like so it's you know this is hug bear and you got some uh cupids and little ponies attacking and it has some quests in here which i played some of uh which come with these these are some of my favorite boards in a game ever as you can see they have rainbow stuff on the sides and then darkness look at this it's a chocolate factory but the chocolate factory from beyond here's a nice rainbow road look at those little bears and what is that so that's fun here is hug bear a boss in his own right it also adds some more monsters but one of the biggest things that this particular set adds is it adds some new things in there like rainbow tokens which are very rarely a good thing but you also get fluffy auras so these are when when you play with this scenario and i think you get it to any set you can add these to a monster so let's say i draw nagas these are delightful nagas and it adds a special ability to them so when attacking this mob you roll one less yellow die but if you beat them you then get a reward we found this to be hilarious because we're playing with delightful skeletons and i mean there's all kinds of stuff in here blooming and hefty and sweet and lovely we remember fighting the lovely demons one time but it's an easy thing to add because it just makes it a little bit harder but then gives you a bonus so it kind of evens out for that alone and for the hilarious cute factor i like this set a lot if there's one set you could skip it would be probably the fey folk here because this is just an enemy box so this has a bunch of butterflies although i guess they fit or flying creatures that you throw in here um queen canendra is a roaming monster in this set and then we have dark pixies and harpies so just some more monsters and i think there's a few other like eq mob equipment and things that you can get in here so ah not a necessary one at all but hey if you want more monsters this and the game is really easy to plug and play okay now we have new classes well first of all you know these sets come with like hey there's a bad guy the paragon okay cool yeah whatever meanwhile let's talk about these new two new classes so first you have the monk who has uh these chakra cards so you know you get your monk cards and you know they have their special abilities now but they have chocolate card so you have different of these cards you're going to be able to play if starting ones you're beginning to be able to play each turn but you're also going to be able to upgrade these and play more of them so i really like this addition to the game but it's not just the monk here the monk's cool but even more cool is the necromancer so the necromancer has the ability as the game goes by to capture wandering monsters to start with skeletons every time you kill an enemy basically anytime you get experience most of the time you're going to be moving a token up this track here and then you can you'll get special abilities as you go farther track but you can spend these to take control of different creatures in the game um you can even bring in your own you know group of skeletons you'll take the group of skeletons from the base game out and then you'll be just moving them around and attacking and or putting a wandering monster on they're not nearly as powerful as other things but your skeletons like for example here raised skeletons you can spend two of these on this track here to raise to summon a skeleton minion in your zone you have a limit of two although that limit definitely can go up they follow you when you take wounds you destroy skeletons but before your attack you roll black die for each one and you do a wounded defender for each hand rolled that's just awesome and it feels fun i don't think the necromancer is like an uber powerful character necessarily they're just fun i killed those pixies they're mine now oh here we have the bars and tinkers versus metal angel yeah cool metal angel wandering monster but more importantly boards all right so what bards do is they're going to add a little musical notes here so you're going to keep track of notes and the bard's skills i mean you think of it as magic you're trying to play different combos of notes here's a bbe and then you get to do different things there's spells that you go off on but oh the tinkerer okay so the tinkerer which is possibly my favorite character in the game i think and that's because one of the tinker the tanker can throw bombs so they have bomb tokens they're throwing around they can summon like robot creatures which i already showed you some of the things they can summon but they can also upgrade into basically an iron man suit and you pick do you want the bottom so this just goes on the bottom or do you want the top of it which fits here um i think there might be a way to get both i haven't figured it out um so far but man and then these can even be upgraded into level twos ah it's so cool and then that you're throwing bombs you are have a little you know turrets you can build uh i just really really like this character and then finally there's an upgrade pack here i'm not going to really get too much into this but this just lets you take all the stuff from the massive darkness the original game and add it into your campaign the 21 hero cards i mean you could use this without even having massive as long as you don't mind that the models don't match up exactly you could even do that i guess with the monsters but there's a ton of cards and bosses a rule book there's just a lot of content in this and so if you have massive darkness one this lets you use about at least 50 of everything in there in the new game [Music] all right so for me if i'm getting this stuff on my own i'm definitely getting these two small packs adding four more character classes is awesome that's a big deal adds another roaming monster too and then i would get the rainbow crossing just because of the silliness of it it adds a nice simple to add game mechanism and i mean this stuff's fine so if you backed all this stuff this is enough content i'm going to be very content with massive darkness for a while but i like it a lot thanks for watching i'm tom vassell we'll see you next time [Music] [Music] you
