Marvels Go To Guy For Superhero Costumes

every now and again I wonder if Spider-Man's costume is actually comfortable to wear like if Spidey swinging around a massive heat wave in New York does all of the sweat just build up and collect and just give him athlete's foot all over his body or when it's cold does spidey's suit have the proper insulation to keep himself warm or does he just [ __ ] fight through hypothermia not only that but I also think about the multitude of times that Spider-Man has to sew up his suit after every battle he's faced like with Green Goblin Venom or more Loom it's got to be crazy time consuming and totally gets in the way of crime fighting now if there was only someone in New York that had a profession of actually repairing and creating superhero costumes if only by some mirror oh wait his name's Leo zielinski and he runs a Taylor shop on 23rd Street by 8th and miraculously enough he specializes in repairing costumes and also creating costumes for superheroes and villains alike as Mr zielinski over the years has quite literally grown the craziest list of clients over the years and he's practically Marvel's number one go-to guy to repair your costume but how did he get into this superheroing clientele well you gotta stick around to find out and I promise you it's a good story as we start the story we see Mary Jane and Peter Parker together having dinner in a fancy restaurant and Peter is having a slight dispute with the waiter as Peter wants coffee but the waiter refuses to serve him coffee for some reason until Peter says to the waiter in a firm tone that he wants a cup of coffee right now sending the waiter off to get coffee is he says something under his breath but Mary Jane interjects to discuss everything going on with her careers and their marriage that is until the police siren is heard wailing down the street putting a pin in their important discussion as Peter needs to go out and be Spider-Man as we follow Spider-Man swinging off to stop the group of criminals in a police chase meanwhile from the streets below Leah watches Spider-Man swing off on his way to his shop as we see Leo later arrive to his shop overhearing a villain named Kill Shot planning to kill someone while giving out an award however it's none of Leo's business as Leo gives kill shot a leather jacket he made with love however a few hours later while having dinner Leo's grandson wants to know what his grandfather plans on doing about kill shots Target the next day with Leo saying what can he even do his business relies on privacy between the good guys and the bad and if he breaks that privacy for say kill shot he could come back to the shop and kill them both but then Leo's grandson says back that the most cowardly things someone could do is to not get involved when something wrong is being done to someone and that someone is going to die if his grandfather doesn't do something but Leo says back to his grandson that he understands what he's saying but this kind of talk is the same thing that God's father killed telling his grandson that he can't get involved if it means risking him he just can't but later that same night Leo tosses and turns unable to shake off what his grandson says so Leo gets up out of bed and goes for a walk where we then switch over to Spider-Man complaining that for once New York is absolutely quiet and with no crime he can maybe go back home to a nice warm bed warm hot chocolate and be with his wife convincing himself to go home that is until he hears a man yell for Spider-Man's attention as Spider-Man then walks down from the edge of a building asking the man why he's calling for him to to which Leo tells Spidey that someone's going to be killed tomorrow and he's pretty sure it's the district attorney but they need a private place to talk about it like a spider cave or something so Spidey brings Leo to a public coffee shop and while they both drink their coffees talking about the situation Leo asks who made Spider-Man's costume because he's looking at Spider-Man's costume and it's screams Spider-Man but as a piece of clothing it's not so good commenting on the fact that every time Spidey wants to eat he has to lift up his mask which isn't good for his secret identity but could be remedied by a velcro mouthpiece and the spandex material for his whole suit causes him to overeat a lot with no proper weatherproofing or ventilation commenting that it's a wonder he doesn't have athlete's feet all over his body as Leo asks again who designed the suit and Spidey just coldly says I did Leo then says well that's his problem he didn't go to a professional introducing himself as Leo zielinski and he runs a Taylor shop a few blocks away telling Spidey that a long time ago his business wasn't doing so hot until an unexpected visitor came in hey yo the things in the story but the thing showed up to his shop and asked for a pair of pants for a 70 waist and Leo being a tailor he whipped something up for the thing I'll be here all night and ever since then Word of Mouth grew and superheroes showed up to his shop to get work done as well the next thing Leo knew he was up to his took us in Spandex and Leo would even feel honored at certain times repairing costumes for Legends like Captain America himself and Word of Mouth just got bigger and bigger and he started working with the X-Men some of the Avengers and even one of his favorites Daredevil along with this he also helped create superheroes too and their costumes one being the ferret but soon a few things would change as villains would also show up with one of the first being Dr Doom trying to fix his cape and then the blob would show up and he would want a very durable thong from Leo and it got kind of hard managing superheroes and villains at the same time but after a little hard work he figured he could have heroes in on Mondays Wednesdays and Saturdays and bad guys on Tuesdays and Thursdays even leaving out certain magazines and such for the groups commenting that Thor likes to read gardening magazines and modern Pride but getting to the point he explains that while helping his client kill shot he heard shot planning to kill the da and now Leo can't go to the police because that'll ruin his business but he still has to do something and it has to be someone that's not a client so it doesn't come back to Leo and his grandson so after Leo tells Spider-Man everything he can about kill shot and where he'll be the next day Spider-Man says he'll take care of it and they both part ways now the following morning when Peter is in bed he keeps thinking about what Leo says so he puts on his mask in the bathroom looking in the mirror touching his mask to indent the shape of a mouth however what he sees in the mirror is Venom so Peter just goes back to bed with his mask on waking up Mary Jane with her telling Peter to stop drinking coffee so late at night after this we then pan over to kill shot about to take the shot on the D.A until his scope gets covered in webbing as Spidey Zips the gun away from Kill Shot to do the circle triangle combo but before he can take down Kill Shot Kill Shot shoots a window washer's lift causing the window washer to plummet to the streets below letting Kill Shot Escape while Spidey saves the window washer where we then switch over to Leo teaching his grandson how to tailor until Kill Shot bursts into the shop yelling that it's all of his fault as kill shot yells at Leo that he must have gotten someone involved pointing his gun at his grandson but Leo jumps in the way of the gun as it fires missing his grandson but hits Leo instead as Kill Shot lifts his gun to Leo's head to finish him and at the last second Spider-Man breaks through the Shop's window taking down kill shot and webbing him up throwing him out into the street for the cops to pick him up later the D.A and the police would arrive to Leo's shop to take kill shot away and the D.A even thanks the two of them knowing on some level that because of them both he's alive today and before Spidey leaves Leo hands him a folder to look over if he's ever interested in an upgrade as Peter later sits on a rooftop opening up the folder to see Leo's special design of the Spider-Man uniform mixing civilian clothes with a reversible Spider-Man jacket so he can change into his costume seamlessly ending the story now if you hadn't noticed this is the same uniform he wears in The Last Stand story where he is shown to be a lot older still being Spider-Man and fights off a ton of SWAT team members until his eventual death and I thought this was so cool my first time reading this issue but that's the story of Leo valinski it's a short but all-around cool story that kind of brings you that much closer to seeing that these Heroes of fiction are just like us in so many ways because it's not the costume or the clothes that you wear that make you a hero it's what's underneath that defines man you really
