[Music] it's another one of those summer nights in La everyone's out looking for action especially on Sunset and if you're not lucky it can take you 20 minutes to drive four blocks tonight's another easy tail job this guy on the porsch has a lot of ladies in his life and my client thinks his wife may be one of them 500 bucks a few hours you know piece of cake come on uh not anymore I spent most of my life in La I used to work as is a detective for the DA's office but got fired for what they called insubordination what I called telling the truth that was 8 years ago and I've been a private investigator ever since which means I get paid to find out those secrets and who's been keeping them well this is interesting cuz that's not my client's wife I should just call it a knight the last thing I should do right now is get out of my car car life is choices okay I'm not going to hurt I'm not going to hurt just tell me what happened sh stay there thanks hey Frank so what does she have to say her name's Tracy fa claim she came over to meet her boyfriend went right upstairs to the bedroom he wasn't there heads out to the pool notices the body figured he slipped turns him over then notices the blood not a bad little story well I didn't see much and I was here that's right you were right outside it's a big help oh next time I'll ask the victim to invite me over for a drink an hour before he's killed oh that'd be nice actually maybe you can ask him to die at a reasonable hour while you're at it did you hear anything uh she screamed but I couldn't tell if that's cuz she found the dead body or caused it right how long you been tailing densler couple of days yeah who are you working for Bill Church thought his wife is banging the guy that's good maybe she's the uh well his father's danzer Enterprises died a few years ago left $140 million company to his two sons Adam here took over the business how'd it go down stabb twice in the neck popped in the head maybe to my home are you out of your mind listen I followed denzer for 3 days he was screwing somebody but it wasn't your wife at least not lately that's not possible she goes out every night she's hanging in clubs she's on the internet researching everything denler have to check in the mail will you what if she's still seeing him I doubt it Adam Denzel was murdered last night you probably be getting a call from the cops good luck with that wait Marlo you can't just tell me that and walk away you don't need me you need a fancy lawyer that's more your style anyway I can't afford my style she's bankrupting me nightclubs vacations investment schemes no matter what I do it's not enough maybe you should take up [Music] gardening I missed morning hey I had a long night that's what coffee's for he found out he was sleeping with somebody else no Adam was in love with me and I was crazy about him uh no offense but being crazy about doesn't help your case look I want to hire you to find out who really did kill Adam the cops are on it now yeah and I'm scared to death that they won't believe that I'm innocent look I may not be as smart as a lot of people but I'm smart enough to know when I need help why would I kill Adam when he was the best thing in my life why would I hire you if I was guilty huh please please Mr Marlo please you got to help me I don't know where else to go put away your checkbook I'll do what I can hey tell me the truth and I might be able to help you but if you lie to me I don't owe Tracy Fay a thing but the tricky thing about La is that lies can sound like the truth and the truth can feel like a lie if you don't go out of your way every so often to find out what's really going on pretty soon you don't know the difference just let her go she's trouble Jessica's like my conscience except in better shape unfortunately I don't listen as much as I should trouble is my business when you wake up with a murder case you never ask for no leads in sight and a client who's the only suspect there's only one place to go back to the beginning try and find anyone or anything that might have seen something outside of Adam Den's house that [Music] night at meum spiritual house across the street while her security camera picked up the plate number of her car it was parked here around the time Adam denz was killed and this is the footage you you got into the crazy neighbors house we've been trying to get a warrant to get in there you want to tell me what else you got you want to wait for the warrant okay uh build Church checked out his alibies airtight thank you oh gee thanks that's it Matt denler older brother stands to inherit everything huh huh okay all right any of the other neighbors see anything no they never do fell uh Adam densler apparently only comes to LA on business though right right a few days a month anything new on the girl I don't know she came to see you yesterday well since you were following her where else did she go well I'll send you a full report want to side of fries with that but Rob you seem tense Frank do I I seem a little tense maybe it's because I spent half my day in court and the other half doing paperwork on the third half which doesn't exist doing my actual job right now I should be in Malibu talking to the brother so what's stopping you well apart from trying to gather evidence to make my case against Tracy Fay I don't know 3 hours of driving on a hot day like this 4 hours of paperwork cuz I got to be all official and stuff you know don't have to worry about warrants or procedure and Zack B who's that violent low life with the reason to kill Adam denzer is he also a violent low life with an alarm code the guy almost kill me for giving Tracy a ride home imagine what he do to denzer find out if you were cheating on him and then go home only I didn't no you didn't but you can now I'm just getting started you were looking to trade up you figured Matt was the way to do that until you found out he was living off an allowance and his kid brother was making all the decisions but I give you credit all the big players were after a parking lot but you you were playing for the real money $140 million in the entire denler family fortune you know I'm impressed I get it well lucky for you I'm the only one who has the whole story otherwise the cops will be knocking on your door dragging you downtown sticking your face all over the 6:00 news ugly 25,000 50 make you go away oh unbelievable you can't prove a word of this oh no Matt asked me to drop this off apparently he lost interest in your flowers too I'll see myself out Adam denzer and Zack ptis were dead Matt Den's life would never be the same in the end it wasn't about a parking lot or politics or anybody's New Vision was about the old Staples jealousy greed and lies all set a blaze One Night in a dark Club just off Hollywood [Music] Boulevard turns out Tracy Fay was telling the truth she decided to leave this town and start over somewhere new in La it's the promise that gets you the promise is laidback beautiful easygoing you can have whatever you want the reality is it's a town full of shaky people on Shaky Ground living out shaky dreams and every single day somebody Falls at that moment you either get back on the horse or find someone to blame I don't mind letting La beat the hell out of me once in a while as long as she tells me the truth in the end oh baby oh baby then it [Applause] [Music] fell
