Marjorie Taylor Greene gets what she DESERVES after insulting Democrat on House floor

and we are here tonight making Petty and vindictive introducing Petty and vindictive amendments that demean the individuals who hold these positions and once again demean the dignity the stature of the United States House of Representatives I urge my colleagues to vote no on this vindictive Amendment and I yield back the G L's time is expired and Goman from Georgia is now recognized thank you Mrs chair uh my Democrat colleague across the aisle who's 80 years old and has been here over 30 years just said we're on the verge of a shutdown uh she probably just forgot that a few hours ago she voted for the continuing resolution uh that will extend the budget and we are not on the verge of a shutdown so I just wanted to note that for the record it may be that the general lady doesn't know that there is another body attached to the US Congress called the United States Senate and they have to vote on a continuing resolution and when they vote on it we'll find out what it is that they do with regard to this continuing resolution passed by the house which cite frankly is flawed to a fair the well flawed to a fair the well in meeting our obligations both domestic and international and by the way it isn't a law of the land or until the president of the United States signs it that may be a basic level in a lesson in Civics there is the house there is the Senate and there is the president I know we joke about Marg till green not knowing how the government works but Marg till green also legitimately does not know how the government works now first of all it's interesting that green also decides to take a pot shot at Doro for being 80 years old when Green's entire personality is her fty to Trump who is 77 years old without Donald Trump Marg chillig green would literally have no identity and yet her brilliant move here is to attack someone else for being old at this point Marg till green has so little self-awareness that I think seeing her own reflection in a mirror would scare her but more importantly here's the thing doloro is right the government is indeed on the verge of a shutdown just as it's been multiple times since the Republicans have taken control of the house and while Green is right that the house did just pass a continuing resolution to fund the government that doesn't eliminate the threat of a shutdown considering the government is not just composed of the House of Representatives and as deloro said there's still the Senate and still the White House although I guess I shouldn't be surprised that green believes the whole world starts and ends wherever she's standing I should note too that the only reason the house passed the latest continuing resolution to fund the government is because the the Democrats swooped in yet again to save Republicans from themselves the bill passed with 127 Republican votes and 209 Democratic votes meaning the only reason that the government has a chance at staying open assuming the Senate passes the bill and that Joe Biden signs it is because the Democrats actually care about governing if it wasn't for the Democrats our government would not function and that's not just rhetoric it is absolute fact and it's borne out by the actual votes in fact I spoke to Congressman Daniel Goldman about exactly that point and here's what he had to say the message is very clear this house Republican party is completely dysfunctional uh they're incapable of passing any legislation even extreme legislation that has no chance of becoming law they do not uh accept the reality that even though they have a narrow majority in the house the Senate is controlled by democrats and the president is a Democrat we are in divided government you don't get everything you want in divided government you rarely get everything you want even in Unified Government but the fact that they refuse to pass anything um that there's clear chaos and dysfunction over there makes it very clear that all of the really dangerous and bad ramifications including A6 billion hit to the economy every week uh numerous sources and resources for Americans obviously tons of government jobs uh this will have a real significant impact on our economy and on the American people and the Republicans just don't seem to care uh we are eager to avoid a government shutdown consistent with the bill that the vast majority of Republicans uh voted to pass in order to raise the debt ceiling which set the Appropriations Topline numbers now the Republicans are going back on their own bill Bill uh that they agree to uh and trying to cut spending even more and really dangerously I also spoke with speaker Pelosi in this week's interview about the prospect of a government shutdown and she echoed that sentiment about how this dysfunction ultimately benefits Republicans what does it say that we are being brought to the Cliff of yet another government shutdown under Republican leadership no well that's uh see if you don't believe in governance you're okay with this you know when we had the three weeks of no action on the floor because we couldn't even the house was not in order we didn't have a speaker they were okay with that because they don't believe in governance and they don't believe in science and so if science if if we having fires and all these natural disasters and saying we must do something about it well you're talking about governance for protections and science on the basis of science that the tunos do not make a yes so when they talk about um when they and I've been down this path with them before they it it it doesn't bother them to have a shut down having said that it is my understanding that this new speaker does not want to start off with a shutdown so no the Republicans do not care about governing in fact moments like this were down to their benefit remember the Republican's whole goal is to shrink the size of government by convincing everyone that government can't work and so they do their best to break it like for example voting constantly against Government funding bills to actually keep it functioning and then point to the dysfunction as evidence the government can't work of course what they don't mention is that the only reason it can't work is because Republicans like them are intentionally sabotaging it when you have people in power who don't believe in government then government cannot function in the same way that any organization when the people in charge are hellbent on breaking something guess what it'll break that's what Republicans are doing here of course the flip side of that is that we already know the government can work when competent people are in charge because we had two years of that when Democrats were in power with virtually the exact same margin that Republicans currently have where they're barely even able to elect a speaker the Democrats passed the inflation reduction act the American Rescue plan the infrastructure package the gun safety law the PCT act the chips act reauthorized the violence against women act codified marriage equality into a federal law so I don't know how to make this any clearer it's not just that Republicans can't govern it's that they don't want to the incentive isn't there it's there for a lot of other things for fame for attention for social media followers for fundraising for
