Number one designer dog breed - the Malshi is a so-called designer dog breed which is a basically a different name for a crossbreed. It is a result of crossbreeding two purebred dogs - the Maltese and the Shih Tzu Most of the Malshis are first generation crosses and it is very rare to breed two Malshis together Number two origin - of course there could have been natural crosses between the Maltese and the Shih Tzu for a long time but it was not until the 1990 when some breeders in Australia decided to bred them intentionally. The goal was to create a small hypoallergenic companion dog. The Malshi might be a young crossbreed but the Maltese and the Shih Tzu are very ancient purebred dogs with history dating back thousands of years Number three therapy dog - this is an intelligent eager-to-please an easily trainable dog.
