MalShi (Shih Tzu Maltese) at the Grooming Salon

this is pixie and i always forget if she's a havanese or what but i'm just i'm always so bad at remembering what breeds are but she's adorable and she gets a top knot see all this hair her mom and family do such an amazing job keeping this brushed out and it's so long and so pretty and i i used to not have very much confidence in putting up a top knot but pixie really helps me get to that and her brother wyatt is also helping me get used to putting top knots up but wyatt's right now is a man bun so we say hashtag man bun for wyatt so a little back story with pixie and actually i totally forgot about this until mom reminded me um she told me how much she appreciated me when she came and picked up the dogs and because pixie got kicked out of the place across the street and she even got kicked out of our salon by one of the other groomers a while ago but for some reason she loves me and i love her and i don't ever have any issues with her i mean i have one tiny little issue which you'll see later like she does not really like having her nails so she says stop that stop brushing my face like that i don't like it now before you all come at me for brushing her face everything that i'm brushing out of her face is dead hair and it doesn't hurt her and it just gets the dead hair out so just let's just let's just yeah okay so here i am doing her fingernails her fingernails what her toenails and she says i bite you i don't like that and it's just i'm really sorry i'm sorry i didn't mean to to do that it was just a reaction i know that that you would not hurt me and i'm sorry that i did that so just please continue because i trust you and i love you thank you okay let's just finish it now please i have a tendency to kind of block out things when it comes to like if a dog is bad for something or if they don't like something i always kind of like block it out of my memory um which i don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing but i don't know i just love her so much she says she says excuse me i'm not done hugging you and i would like to kiss you if if you could please take that mask off so i can kiss your face because i really like to get my tongue right up into your nose holes because because because what where are you going joe okay i am trimming her face with my thinning shears i like to get the hair out in front of the eyes and she's not a huge fan of getting her face done either but she's not bad for it she just kind of moves around so i just kind of work with her and figure out what works best for her which i've always said that just moving around the dog and not expecting the dog to be a certain way is key to always having good dogs some of my co-workers will be like all your dogs are so chill all your dogs are so good like how like why are your dogs you never have bad dogs and i'm just like because i i work with my dogs like if my dog wants to face one way i'm not going to keep turning it around to face the way i want it to face i'm just going to go over to the other side of the table and 9 times out of 10 that works fine because the dog wants to be a certain way it's really important to me to make sure that when a dog comes to see me or a dog comes in for grooming that it's it's a nice fun experience and i mean i wouldn't want to go somewhere and had my body like manipulated like it's already like kind of unnatural enough as it is so like why would you want to be forced to face a certain way when you're already being forced to do something that you know i don't know i'm going off on a weird tangent i don't know where it's going so i'm shaving her with a number seven she doesn't have any mattes or anything but we keep her pretty short and maintained so that she doesn't get matte so this is a length that works best for her lifestyle and her human's lifestyle she loves to stop and hug and she loves climbing me and she just needs to be in my face all the time which i love because it makes me feel good and it makes me feel like she's comfortable being here and she's comfortable with me she also likes to watch the people i think i'm kissing her shoulders i'm like kiss kiss kiss but she likes to watch the people out the window which i think is really cute i have one dog oh she's slipping out of her lead people like to yell at me for having my lead so loose but i'm always paying attention to my dogs and i'm never like walking away from them or anything so they're always secure and i don't like having the loop like super tight but um anyway i was saying that i have this dog that people will come and they'll watch at the window and she will just go bananas for them she'll like bark at them and i go who's that who's that you're going to get them you're going to get them and i think it's hilarious but i probably shouldn't do that so bixi also has super duper long ears which i love i love a long long long ear like if i could have dogs just grow their ears to the floor like i would like i had this idea that it would be really cool to have like a mystery groom like the groomer chooses like it'll be a discounted price but i'll choose what haircut to do on your dog and i think that it would be really successful because i think a lot of people have like a lot of expectations in terms of how their dog should look or can look or like i had one lady oh my gosh she i felt so bad i was i was a pretty new groomer but she came in and she said she wanted her dog to look like this and she showed me a picture of a pomeranian like the boo dog that you know shaved with like the little round face but she brought in a yorkie and i'm like uh and i laughed and i was like i said what i said these are not even like closely related to each other like so i but like it's crazy like some people just have this idea that you know we can create or we can do like i don't know that that would have been magic to make a yorkie look like a pomeranian but i anyway i'm getting off topic again i don't even know i'm not watching my video and i'm kind of running out of stuff to say oh so anyway i like to back brush her feet with my slicker brush before i trim them to get the little toe hairs up and i go over the feet quite a few times because it's really difficult to get the feet right for me like it's always been a struggle of mine and i have to really consciously go back and go back and go back and redo the um the feet so my job is really hard and i really needed to stretch my back my back was really hurting and she was like she's like what are you doing down there it's it's it's my grooming time and i i would i would appreciate it if you wouldn't just shake down and and not be around me so i put my hand up and i'm just like it's all right pixie i'm still here i just need to stretch the groomer is sore the groomer hurts so i lift her ears up so i can get underneath her jawline to create a round face for her and this is called a teddy bear face and she gets a cute short one and she has awesome hair so i really like doing her face because it turns out really really cute after i do a rough shaping of her face with my curves i use my thinning shears to kind of blend and soften the edges and shape it into the shape that i want and i used to use the thinning shears to take length off because i was always afraid to make like big cuts but um i found the confidence i found the confidence in my scissoring skills to be able to just like pick the length that i want and then use my thinning shears to tone it down and shape it into that little circle make it as cute as i can that's one thing that i really like about like japanese fusion grooming which this is not that but the pro the object of japanese fusion is just to make the dog look as much like a stuffed animal as possible and i just i really just want my dogs looking cute when they go out and that's kind of like my my mindset when i groom people's dogs i've i never claim to be like the best groomer i don't think that i'm like a show quali i know i'm not a show quality groomer i'm just a pet groomer and i'm here to make your dog look cute and i make sure that their butts clean and make sure their nails are done and make sure they have a good time and this is always a fun part is putting in little top knot bows and she says i don't want to dip my picture taken and i'm gonna get this bow out of my hair right now or just get it out of there and then oh man you messed it up now i tried to fix it but i was like forget it you're so cute pixie she says okay can you can i can i be held now i'm done now can i go can i be held
