Hello friends for those of you who have been waiting for the Berserker armor patterns we are excited to announce that they are completely finished and available in our Academy this build was made possible with the support of the foamory the FY offers high quality and affordable highdensity EVA foam which is perfect for cospl mock-ups like this please check the link in the description to pick up foam for your next build they also offer a variety of thicknesses and after some testing we decided 4 mm was a great standin for the 9 to 10 ooun leather will'll be using for the full suit [Music] [Music] [Music] after cutting out the pieces from the patterns I hit both sides of the foam with the heat gun to flatten it out doing so also softens it enough to get a good impression of the lines I want to reference and carve from the [Music] pattern to get the dramatic fluting in the foam I used a heat tool to carve a line in the underside I then heated it with the heat gun until the seam was almost melted and then pressed it together the results were perfectly fused seams giving me the crusted fluting I was looking for another thing I noticed was how easy it was to smooth wrinkles by simply hitting it with a heat gun for a short time [Music] my first trial involved using barge after I carved the seam but the heat fusion was far more [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] effective [Music] [Applause] to assemble the pieces as a mockup you can use cheap office Brads and just stab it through the foam a little more sturdy option is to use double capped rivets like the ones we use in our leather projects or even Chicago Screws but foam is much softer than leather so you should add some strong tape or glue or a fir material as a backing to support the rivet and Chicago [Music] [Applause] [Music] Screws [Music] [Music] right [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] want [Music] missing it's [Music] over [Music] all the decorative lines were carved using a wood burning tool it took a while but the overall results were worth it [Music] regarding retaining straps to connect the parts together and allow for articulation I suggest using leather over foam a lightweight 4 to 6 o vegetable tan leather is great [Music] here [Music] you'll have to decide how you want to close the parts together you can possibly use something like velcro or elastic or other binding but I suggest using leather and buckles just be sure to reinforce the underside of the riveted areas if you plan to wear it to events [Applause] once everything is together you can use the heat gun for some final shaping of course if you choose to you can go on and Prime and paint and do whatever else you'd like to add to this we just did this as a mockup to test our our vit and our pattern design but feel free to have fun with [Music] it [Applause] hey guys it's Samuel why don't we swing by the Discord server and take a peek at what our members have been posting in The Apprentice Gallery recently this is where you can post your own creations and you might get featured in the next video as you can see there are many submissions and it's a great source for inspiration many students customize the base designs to make it their own and it keeps going and going and going one more thing while we're here we've been building a new member membership program that we're calling our Guild and among the great perks is Insider access with a members area which is now integrated with our Discord and if it's been a while since you've checked in please be sure to connect your membership with your Discord app so that you can access the exclusive content and bonus perks that will be added soon and for new visitors we also have a free behind the-scenes Channel where we share most of our general updates and teasers of some of the more exciting things we have in progress if you missed the last video be sure to check out the leather gauntlets version from the berserk build and get subscribed if you want to see the rest of the suit and the full reveal when it's ready we'll be back soon for our next video so until then thanks for watching and be sure to check out our [Music] Guild
