MAJOR MUNCHIE TO GROUND CONTROL! Mulching

[Music] good morning ladies and gentlemen we are out here at flint equipment this morning before we go to the job i got to pick up a piece of equipment i got to pick up the kubota it was here i'll get to that in a second i want to look at this 85 real quick though steel tracks and rubber tracks [Music] man that mulcher i got that preen off on on one of these eight and a half times 88 and a half ton man that thing would kick but son it would do really well super nice machine i'm a big fan of uh this single pin design on the on the king some of you call it a king pose some people call it a chassis pen whatever you want to call it um like my kubota has a double pin design but i really like this single pin design for these it just seems a lot sturdier there's a lot more it seems like there's a lot more surface area there for the wear to be distributed on that so i really like these 85 they have a sort of a reduced tail swing on them it's not a zero turn but it's a kind of a reduced tail swing they are definitely nice i love the ergonomics and the deers i'm sure you guys many of you if you're a fan of my channel know that i love the ergonomics in these things they're just set up perfectly for how i like to sit and run a machine all right so let's walk over here so i brought the kubota over here because i know the people over here john deere and they said they could fix it so i brought it to them and what had happened was i took this thing in for service to another place i won't mention who or where oh hey mike uh and what had happened was i'm forgetting which side it is but i couldn't get the screws i think it was this side yeah couldn't get the screws out of the final drive and he put a torch to it and this is the seal and you can see let me check my thing here you see that oh it's all charred up right there so when he put a torch to that one of these screws it it burnt this seal and the oil started leaking out right there and that was a big problem so it kind of became uh he said he said thing you know with that and so i just brought it down here to flint because they said these final drives are very similar on the kubotas to their john deere final drives and the maintenance guys here the shop guys said they could fix it wouldn't be too much problem the biggest problem was waiting on parts the parts took over a week to get here which really sucked but everybody's having problems getting parts right now you know with the supply chains being all messed up so i'm gonna get this thing loaded up and uh we got a mulching job to go do today so let's uh get to it [Music] so [Music] so all right quick little tidbit about this machine these lines have a lot of pressure behind them and they can be kind of a pain in the butt to hook up after it's unhooked because you can't get these things to to click in so i'm going to show you guys a little trick with that so what we're going to do is we're going to put some pressure on them on the system now how i'm going to do that is i'm going to lift the machine up with the boom like so now what i'm going to do is i'm going to cut the machine off and then i'm going to cut it back on but i'm not going to actually turn it over i'm just going to turn the electronics on and what that's going to do is going to put power to the hydraulic valves and i'm gonna just let that out really quick and i'm gonna move this one around and that should let all the hydraulic flow go back to the tank basically and take pressure off the system and we'll see if this should hook up fairly easily i'm going to turn the valves over and we'll see if this hooks up all right so that did it someone mentioned that to me in a comment a while ago that that works and it does help a lot with hooking up those things because these lines for whatever reason hold a lot of pressure so the mulcher's hooked up and all that's left is to load this thing up and get it to the job and we'll uh we need to grease it really quick grease the machine and i'll probably touch those teeth up it's kind of actually they're not too bad that's pretty sharp actually not too bad we'll see maybe we'll need to touch him up all right so here's today's project uh we are going to be clearing out this entire path to here about five feet on both sides um i got to open this up really quick my agreement with the client was that they were gonna have somebody come in here and clean all this trash up i guess they didn't get to it yet so they're gonna get somebody on it right now and i'm going to open this up really quick so i can get in here and just grab some of this stuff and i think he's just going to pick it up throw it on that mattress drag it out of here and then i'm just basically going to clear this five feet on both sides and we got a little bit of overhang on the other side we got to do um over this fence there's a like like a golf cart store over there so this is actually part of that property so that's what we're going to do i'm just going to open this up really quick and then wait for him to clear this stuff out because that wasn't part of my deal and that's what we're going to do so hold tight and far and uh they're gonna get that trash up pretty quick and i'm probably gonna take these this line i just want to open that up so he could get back there but i'm gonna open this line up through here about flush with this tree here and then probably somewhere flush like along here and that's about how wide we're going to take this and open it up in here pretty good shouldn't take too long this is going pretty quick that uh worked pretty good i'm right here next to this big old radio tower and i guess that's somebody else's deal with that tower this is actually part of the property that's over there on the other side of this wood line but um yep so and and i'll show you guys i'm actually how i got this job was i'm not surprised i didn't know this was back here but i'm not surprised that i got this because right next door is the other homeless lot that i cleaned up last year that we bush hogged last week right there and so what happened was i was over here bush hogging this and the guys that have this building over here saw me doing that and they're like hey can you do this over here and i was like as a matter of fact i can and uh they said they were going to have all the trash cleaned up and i guess that slipped them so they're working on that now thank goodness i didn't want any part of that i hate having to clean that stuff up so but i will do it but they wanted to take care of it and i was like that's i'm good with that so shouldn't take them more than a few minutes look there wasn't a whole lot back there so and then we'll get back to it so while i'm sitting here waiting um just want to kind of go over my thoughts about this job really quick you could do this with a skid steer with a mulcher but my only concern with that would be there's a road right here and you know mulchers do throw stuff that's reason i'm not in here with the skid steer well there's two reasons one because i have these trees on the other side of this fence this brush along this fence line that i've got to do and the skid steer would not have worked for that two if i'd have brought the skid steer in here i would have to either go that way or this way and there's roads on both ends so that just would not have worked you know throwing stuff out into the roads either way and that's why a schizoid with a mulcher would been you could do it but you'd have to be real careful you definitely would have had to work it this way and you'd have been kind of careful i guess if you had like a front hood a hood in the front of it like some of the fae heads have like a hood in the front that can come down and block that stuff you'd have been all right but i still got to reach up and kind of trim some of these trees back and you know the mini is perfect for doing that and you still got to get this other side over here and a skid steer would not be able to do that with a mulcher head either so just my thoughts on that you know in my opinion you know a mini with a mulcher head is perfect for doing little ride aways like this where you can just kind of come and just do both sides and kind of trim some of the overhang back take selectively kind of take out some of the trees and clear everything up it's small maneuverable and you can kind of work it in there and take what you want leave what you want and trim some of the higher stuff so that's that's just my opinion you know you there's a the crazy thing about what you know doing this kind of work is there's a hundred different ways to do it you know to do jobs like this so to each his own you know and so this is this is what i've i've you know i've really come to really like this setup it's been really good for me and uh it's very efficient works great powerful so it's not perfect it's not for every job but it works good so all right we're just about ready to get rolling he's gonna all this stuff out of here and we're just about there [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] hi guys that's the job in here it looks good so and actually the uh the manager from next door just came over and looked at everything and they were watching me mulch and said look great it's exactly kind of what they're looking for and it's nice and open through here so you can see it through both sides of the street so nobody can really get in here and kind of hide or anything like that well i guess they kind of could still get in here but um that's not their property and they don't want any more of that mulch but i think it all should be mulched all the way back to that fence but that's neither here nor there this is what they wanted and and they're happy with it so but it will allow them to kind of you know just walk or drive through here and see you know in here a lot better i asked him about these piles of cedar stuff right here and they said uh that that wasn't theirs i guess what what has likely happened here at some point is somebody with a landscaping company found this little hole in here and they just offloaded that in here because it was convenient and they didn't want to pay the 20 per ton at the landfill so i ground it down as best i could and they told me it wasn't a huge deal but i kind of just ground it down so i pushed i ground some of that down and then push the rest of it off right there so we should be good now we're gonna go around here on the other side of this fence and that's where things are gonna get a little bit more tricky so let's go take a look at that and see what we can do all right so here's what we gotta do in here they want some of this canopy trimmed right here i may do that with the pole saw and we gotta mulch basically this tree line back yeah i think i might hit that with the pole saw i'm gonna be better because i can't mulch the ground we got asphalt but this kind of has like a bed of stuff on it through here and that might be do a little more doable so i'm going to start right here and we're going to just mulch all this back about to where that fence is and it's in there there's that about two feet something like that we'll just do the best we can with it and try to clear off some of this overhang so uh so so so [Music] um [Music] all right guys that's pretty much the job and so i just kind of we trim this this tree jump back just a little bit in a few spots and what they're gonna do is they're going to take like this black fence paper and put it all along here so we just took the mulcher down through there i cut the big stuff cut the top excuse me the dust got to me after blowing and then i brought i took the hedge trimmer over there and just kind of cut back everything that was kind of sticking out flush with the fence so they wouldn't have to fight with that and just trimmed it up and then i just took the blower and just kind of blew everything back towards the fence line as best i could most of this stuff like that big pile of stuff and all this stuff was already mostly here so a little bit of mulch on top of it's not going to hurt anything this probably all needs to just be eventually just be raked out and cleaned up through here but they don't want to do that today this is all they wanted um just so they could get that uh that fence that black stuff up and make this wall this off so to speak so that's all i did and that's all i wanted so last thing to do we are pretty much done except for the branches i trim off this tree or over there in the path we're going to go over there and just mulch those up really quick so they're not a pile and that'll take probably two three minutes and we'll load this up and get out of here [Music] so [Music] so [Music] [Applause] [Music] all right guys that didn't take but just a sec that was like literally like two minutes to grind those couple limbs up and uh that's the job we're out of here just uh what is left is to load up and get out of here so i have another job very similar similar to this one just across the street we're going to be doing that tomorrow i'm going to come in the morning and i'm going to sharpen the teeth in the morning and get this thing ready to go we've got uh two little spots we're gonna mulch out or actually that's like it's like three actually real small probably uh i don't know half day to one day project so we'll just kind of see how it goes but uh yeah very similar to this just gonna be thinning out and clearing out some areas so um loving the prana for the pre-knock loving that thing i always want to call it pride because it's pri i want to say pry but it's free loving that thing um very happy with it highly recommended if you have a dealer in your area and you're looking for a mulcher i love that thing no problems with it so far i'm very impressed with the life of the teeth so far they're they're i've probably got 80 to 100 hours somewhere in that ballpark on them i don't know exactly but it's probably somewhere between 80 to 100 hours and it uh they're doing very well so uh and they still have a lot of life left on them so that thing's awesome i've been very happy with it and just to give you an idea of how much i've been using this machine either with the mulch here since i got it or the mtl when i bought this machine it had 1080 hours on it and i'm already at 1450 almost 50 hours so i put a good number on that and just give you a comparison when i bought the skid steer it had exactly 2000 hours on and i bought that in 2018 um and we're already i brought that in april like 2018. and i only have like 25 120 or 30 hours on it so i put in less than a year i put almost as many hours on this thing as i have on the skid steer in like three years so love this thing so anyway that's the job i'll check you guys later more stuff to come i'm out
