okay it is april what's the date today guys 12 12. so we got lee here hello and we got rickles hi oh yeah and some empty bottles of uh water back there if you're wondering if you saw that so anyway we're on our way to the drills why aren't we seated good great question it is uh it's only plus two um which is plenty warm enough to go seed in my books we've been seating these last few days we got uh i don't know we've got some crop in the ground i don't know where we are 18 or so which isn't very much really if you think about it but anyways we're gonna go do some maintenance yay yay because it's a chilly wind out there so yay so we're just looking over to your left there uh it's all nicely seated we were just thinking that it's so satisfying to see that ground all nicely seated right wiggles hello it's great it's great it's awesome couldn't have it any other way wouldn't want it any other way except some moisture except that maybe if we had a little bit of moisture we are a little dry down here like crazy dry to be quite honest with you but it is what it is put your hands in the air it goes wait wait wait wait for it oh no that one that one wasn't as good we're gonna have to we're gonna have to pick up our speed here if we're gonna okay one more one okay okay yeah we got it and here's our corner after our roller coaster ride i didn't uh yeah that's how it goes oh look a decisive sign that was back when they were cool before they were bought by telus i mean what uh uh oops well that's that's awkward getting closer to the drills but our conversation we thought we would include you guys we were talking about cereal um do you guys prefer it hard and crunchy and cold milk uh rick is kind of he's kind of messed up back there because he likes cereal he likes his cereal soggy and i'm like oh man i can't like i gotta have cold milk cold milk yes cold milk but isn't it frankel's who wants he warms his milk in the microwave or is he just joke around he warms his milk in the microwave maybe i'm getting confused with somebody else warming up milk in the microwave for the mini weeks oh you don't do that even if it's mini wheats you just don't do that what do you guys think what's your guys is is it my younger brother brian he doesn't even put any milk in he eats it dry so that's really weird i what about you lee i work with barbarians you i i resent that i resen i have my bowl i like i don't even know what that is when he first said that both both rickles and i were dead quiet we're like did he just say and we're like did you just did you just did you just yeah we're gonna stop with that conversation now and uh we're gonna go to servicing so uh ashton would normally be down here with us but she is uh trying to work on your guys's merchandise so please be patient with us because as i told you before and i'll tell you again seeding comes first yes seeding comes first so if we can have a spare day like today it's kind of snowing a little bit uh we'll work on it if not it's gonna have to wait until we're done seeding and that could be end of april that could be beginning of may you guys sometime in may it all depends so just so you guys know that okay seating first so i apologize about the wind i do have hand me on which is my mic that's hopefully gonna help reduce some of that wind so we're here um why are we here that's a great question hold on this is a little bit blurry take two um we're here to maintenance greece check everything over how come we're not seeding because these it's snowing everywhere else but southwest saskatchewan like some places are getting like a lot of snow and well we don't have any as you can see but it's cold and it's trying to flurry as you can see there is some snow underneath the drills um very little and you don't want to be seeding when it's snowing wine great question because it will suck moisture into your tank because your fans back there i'll show you your fans i just want to answer this question right now these fans are sucking outside air and pushing it through your drill that's what pushes all your seed and fertilizer well there's no dryer on these fans right so if you're taking humid not humid or wet air you're taking wet air doesn't matter what temperature it is and ramming it through these lines that's carrying your fertilizer what's going to happen to those lines you're going to plug them up it is possible to plug them up that's why you do not uh see it in the rain now it's very little snow it's questionable whether we should be going or not but it is cold out ain't nothing gonna happen right now so we might just take this day off and just really focus on making sure we're ready to rock and roll again as soon as it warms up tomorrow we're supposed to get maybe five six centimeters i don't know so we're just going to check all the openers check all the hoses make sure there's nothing broken we're going to grease we have our winter clothes on it's windy that wind is literally blowing off the snow bank somewhere in northern saskatchewan because she's chilly this is sally uh susie's third cousins who's used my impact we've got some more blue guard grease oh yeah when it comes to grease there is a ton of different types of grease and really fancy grease there's grease that can take up heat better there's grease that's more water resistant there's thicker grease for your pins there's a lighter grease for your bearings and whatever whatever there's tons of different types of thin synthetic type of grease i just go with a little cheaper grease and grease the crap out of it that's just what i do but everybody has their own way of doing stuff okay oh i don't like that wind oh that's a cold wind it's just just that's like a knife out here we got to put a tire on i think i told you guys that already we have a tire that's split i think it's this one right here so that's got to get changed no big deal checking anything and everything i thought you just greased we we greased the main pins we might increase our banners so there's one two three four we won't do any of the bearings on the hubs if we won't do any of the bearings on those hubs yet now i feel like it's trying to snow i feel like it's trying to snow now oh this is awesome just wish we could do this every day it's winter time it's winter yeah say what okay okay let's go check out this vent i brought an air filter because i don't know if you guys are familiar but uh where these fence draw their air is a terrible spot it's terrible so they draw their air from here but it plugs the air filters on these things very quickly you get a breather in a stack and get it up out of the air like get it up out somewhere but uh nope they're cool they're gonna stick it in there and it does look cool when it doesn't have a breather stack it really does but man do we ever go through air filters oh sorry about that so we're just gonna check our air filter situation you can check it on the monitor here so our air filter is at 54 so we've plugged half our air filter in about three days that's not good that's not something to be proud of um on the johnny poppers we can go a whole season without even looking at the air filter and of course there's sensors on everything too but they're really good um but our k620 quad tracks we had oh they were equally they weren't quite as bad as the fent they were kind of in the middle so you had the john deere did the best for the air filter then there was the case i think it's because that case has so many turbos on it it's just drawn so much air we went through air filters all the time like we would go through maybe two three four sets of air filters per tractor because you're not supposed to blow them out although a lot of people blow them out but you're not supposed to pull them out you're not supposed to pull this one out too i don't think either but uh so anyway i did bring a new air filter we're not to put it in yet um we're going to run it until 80 90 percent and then we'll take it and we'll change it i just wasn't sure where where it was at that's why i brought the air filter so oh sorry about that i'm always bunking my hand on everything so we'll shut this thing off we'll kill the power to it and we're going to go i should just stay in here a little bit longer and it's funny because ashton she was i don't know if she's losing it or winning but she was playing x's and o's in her tractor by herself and she won i i only thought i ever did that kind of stuff you could tell that we're we're a perfect match for each other anyway i'm gonna get out there and i'm gonna help the guys what i can't i i yeah so well yeah okay yeah we're done greasy okay so i know you guys have some questions like uh how often are you supposed to grease stuff how much grease are you supposed to give stuff is there a different type of grease for different types of application and you're right on all accounts uh so any like main pin i think i explained this before to you any main pin i just grease until it comes out that tells me i'm good i do believe there is plastic wear pads in here it can actually wear on i can't remember anyways should we grease all the main pins until they come out i'll show you a mid-row bander because please work on a midroll bander oh yeah you want to hear that cracking so anyway it will crack and pop and it will come out of here and then you know that you're good now when it comes to bearings and u-joints you guys bearings and u-joints you don't want to over grease a bearing or a u-joint um there is some stuff that you need to be careful of how much grease you pump in and i will show you those so for example this if you over grease this uh this is a hub it would either pop this dust cap off because it's got too much or it can pop the seal out to come out the back over here so you don't want to do that so well mike how are you supposed to know how much grease to give these things great question you just kind of know to be honest with you if you were into reading manuals but most farmers are not they would probably tell you x amount of hours okay that means you don't count during the day that means you don't counter it yeah let's just sat there you don't be like oh yeah the throw sat there two hours yeah i'm going to grease it now yeah exactly right um well mike how are you supposed to know where and what takes grease well most pivoting points you guys most main pivoting points whether it be this way this way we'll take grease so that has a grease nipple um this one does not have a grease nipple but any main pivoting point you're always looking you're feeling uh does it have a grease simple like we don't have to do that because we've greased these things enough we know exactly where the grease nipples are i'm just telling you guys back here there's a main pivoting point that's a grease nipple okay um where else let's go around to the tank we're going around to the tank each one of these little hubs remember we changed those bearings on these last two they have a grease angle we're not going to grease those yet i told you that they're still good we're not going to do any of the wheels yet they're still good okay and then uh here's a big main pivoting point right here it has a grease nipple and then see this sticker so there's lots of places like that we'll tell you so that's 50 hours okay and as lee was saying that's 50 hours of operation work not 50 hours like it's just sitting there just trying to make that point this is borgo's new update i hope this works there's probably should be a grease nipple in there i don't know because we were breaking these pins and they were popping out uh but there is no grease nipple in those okay oh this tire is getting bad this tire starts getting bad um these little metering augers these little bearings right here pretty sure these are every 10 hours i think i know that because i remember seeing a sticker somewhere on them and again that's 10 hours operational work and the thing is mike if you're working for 14 hours or 16 or 18 hours a day does that mean that you're getting out and greasing your 10 hour grease nipples like three quarters of the way through your day no that does not most guys are not going to get out at three-quarters at the three-quarter point and grease their 10-hour degree samples basically if it's a 10-hour degree simple that's basically the engineers telling you grease them once a day so once your tractor is warming up then you would come out here and you would grease all those things because you have to wait for your tractor to warm up anyways um but it's kind of funny because i think a lot of engineers where they stick 10 hour grease nipples on here oh right here ten hour grease nipples as they think that us farmers work a ten hour working day that's funny um so yeah so we're gonna keep greasing we're going to be down here for probably the next four or five hours working on all the greasing fixing anything like these but fixed checking all the openers and so on i know it's quite windy out there so i apologize about that i wish i could go seating but you know oh i want to show you this cart hold on you see those bearings up there right there yeah you see those so those are i'm going to grease those you probably shouldn't over grease them but i'm going to grease them anyway because they're always infertile so sometimes it kind of depends on the environment so if they're always in a fur dust first it's very corrosive so if there's always inferred dust if there's a place where they're always in fur dust i like to over grease those just a little bit remember bearings are cheap i can put new bearings on at the end of the year if i kind of hootch the bearing for over greasing or whatnot but i would rather do that than because i actually do that anyway i'm like what do you mean you just throw our new bearings because i wash my cart so that means a lot of guys don't wash their cart some guys blow their cart out and that's fine i don't think there's any right way or wrong way of doing it as long as you do it right if you're going to wash it you can't half-ass the job it's got to be strip all the metering augers off take all the bearings out get in there wash it scrub it wash it scrub it wax it put all the brand new bearings on so on so forth you guys will get to see that when that time comes okay guys you guys got it figured i know you do my hands are cold another thing that i noticed was obviously this is a protector it's supposed to protect the cylinder here i'll show you like this one over here just ties on there it's supposed to protect the cylinder from mud and stuff coming off the tire i think they're kind of a joke myself because sometimes they'll get hooked on the tire for whatever reason and uh look what it did it just rounded off that fitting see we should have a fit in here let me zoom in on this a little bit look what it did to this one no there's not even a fitting there anymore i'm trying to take that off we're going to wait until he's done greasing those before we change that because we will go over so what we're going to do is we're going to take susie here and we're going to zap these two bolts loose and this actually moves this whole assembly hold on so this scraper is too far close to the end of the disc and it's putting excessive wear right here on the bottom of this scraper uh so we're gonna slide this up see how we can slide it up a little bit and we're going to try to get this scraper up here maybe so the edge is here okay so i'm going to take susie and i'm going to go around starting tonight here we go now you pretty much need two hands here okay there it is now i'd have to tighten that up with my other hand which i don't have so oh maybe to stay see how much that lifted it that's what we're looking for eat yeah it's just because my blade is wearing out oh it did slide down a little bit wow this one's just to show you guys oh yeah there we go you're kind of getting rusty okay well i'm going to continue doing this i have been trying to be quick at it okay okay okay so uh as i said before we're just checking everything this is the 15 liter cummins uh made in mexico i guess i didn't know that but i guess it is we're just checking everything make sure our radiator isn't plugged we already checked your oil it's good checked our coolant it's good and this is where this uh engine sucks its uh air right up there there's the stack now let's go take a look at the 1050 for comparison
