Magician REACTS to Takumi Takahashi SEMI-FINALS on Asia’s Got Talent 2019

[Music] [Applause] [Music] hi welcome back my name is Jason Parker let's get one of those little things going across down here that's me and this video is all about Takumi Takahashi this is the first of three semifinals weeks on Asia's Got Talent and this is his second performance I already made a reaction to his performance last week I'll share you a link down below his act last week was really cool it focused on some special manipulation of cards and I'm really curious to see what he's gonna do this week and if he's gonna make it into the finals so let's just jump right in and see what he's got for us this week okay I am Takumi Takahashi from Japan and tonight I'm going to perform a card trick for my act I need an assistant so please mister baby could you come up on the stage and be my assistant I see he's wearing his typical mafia gear and I'm curious to see if he's gonna do some focus on other types of car moves since the last time he really focused on one specific thing so let's see what he's gonna do it is very nice to meet you again did you get see there no are gonna be a Madison perfect alright so as I'm going to perform card trick I am going to use a deck of cards so you can see this chasm it up and now usually when magicians perform card magic they'll expect a patek any card they like so please take any caddy right yes and I can't even look at that house yeah yeah and I can see that cut do you want to see it yeah that's what I said show me the card also by the way does anyone recognize this deck of playing cards I don't think I've ever seen it before let's continue very easy part aha you're really good and usually when magicians perform cosmetic they take the card into the deck so that they can cheat somehow they control the card to find it this looks pretty similar so far yeah yeah yeah yeah but once I was performing magic at the bar in Tokyo there were some Yakuza guys came into the bar you know Yakuza Japanese mafias and they told me to perform magic for them and this is the hard to chew you yes or they cut my fingers off ah yeah I like how he's handling David's interruption David's being a little difficult that's his name right David I think it's David Foster I think he's a Canadian in fact why is he a host on Asia's Got Talent if he's from Canada anyway back to the routine it's just a joke so please could you point at one card any card point point that one card this one okay but we don't look at this card yet this is a secret card that's what I told him so I was going to perform some sort of prediction magic but this Yakuza guy he looked at the curve anyway so I needed to change my plan damn you accuser guys so I was going to take the card back into the deck so then he suddenly and he said don't touch my card now tell me what this is this is very troublesome because I don't know what this car is and I need to take the card into the deck to find it now I have to figure out what this card is just by using this 51 pad so David I need your help it's very important you see it has a mixed up I am going to make four piles it's like this very random like this now I need you to mix Tucker's in casino style like this table shuffle but to make it more complicated let's do this now face up face down I would like you to meet these cars just like David like normally shop apart now let's mix now you can see that - mixed up right computer now I'm going to mix okay face down please mixer oh right now I don't know what's happening perfect it seems really fair yes and lastly I would like you to meet the car together this is very tough right yes it's up to you if I fail or not this reminds me of a classic card effect except that he's having the spectator mix them all together so I think they're really being mixed but I but you don't play the piano very well either no I do now I am going to mix the custom more to make it more messy messed up perfect now you see the cars are mixed up here I gotta do something now I am cutting the cars in special way and all I need to do is give this stick a magical finger snap okay a magical finger snap the way this is to normal every Martian week I do this way yes this is my way of snapping fingers now my sound effects it's painful but maybe you works because if you look at the car yeah you will start to see some patterns now all the facing up cuz I ace of clubs - I am completely fooled right now I don't know how I did that but look seven is missing eight nine ten hmm Jack and once he did a deck switch that I just didn't see one card is missing - seven yes where could it be what is this card is the seven of clubs please Dave I hold this knife pretty please if that's the seven of clubs yeah I want to be your manager Wow could you hold this like this and a periodic yes show to the camera this is the seven when I go to my seat bubi takahashi okay before we hear what the judges are gonna say I'll give you my thoughts first off I'd like to say that I just really enjoyed the performance I thought it was great secondly secondly at first I was afraid that he was gonna do a lot of the same type of move from his first act but he only did it briefly it's kind of like a callback to remind you and then he quickly moved on and started doing other stuff which I appreciate for the sake of variety I felt like David was being a little bit difficult as a spectator actually kind of trying to distract and mess up the flow of the trick so I thought that I thought I could home he did a really good job handling that making jokes just going with the flow and then continuing the routine so that was impressive thirdly I liked the fact that he continued with this mafia theme and so even had storyline involving the Yakuza and a bar with a butterfly knife I thought that was really a great presentational idea forthe idli it was impressive he let David shuffle the cards face up to face down himself I actually really don't know what he did there I'd have to watch it a second time to see if I could notice something the only thing I did notice is when Takumi took the cards back he was shuffling them in kind of special way that made me feel like they were already in some order but I don't understand how that could be possible if David just shuffled them I mean I have one theory but I didn't see it happen and I like the fact that he whipped out that knife and was flourishing it all around put David in his place make him be a good spectator if I were to try to nitpick something I guess I could say near the Indian of the trick it was a little bit slow cuz you quickly see all the cards are in order and there's one missing and it takes a little too long to get to seeing the card under the knife maybe he could put in some extra joke there or some kind of by play with the spectator again that's just if I try to nitpick actually I really enjoyed this performance and I thought you did an amazing job those are my immediate thoughts after having just watched it let's see what the judges have to say [Applause] David you seem impressed well like I said before his sleight of hand is amazing if I had a criticism tonight it would be that I think the trick went a little slow yeah and five tricks in that amount of time would have been better and I know he's capable of it he's brilliant I understand Jay I thought the trick was amazing first off the trick was amazing didn't know how you did it was amazing um I agree with David that it was a little slow it could be because you know English isn't his first language so I made you know I gave you that but yeah I like you look I love the trick was good I'm still very much impressed and and actually I want to say that I like your personality and is you're very charismatic - I just have to know how many hours a day do you have to practice to get that good hmm I would say everything with thickens every single second are you practicing right now oh my nice response occasion is fast hands had you questioning reality like us get on and they're gonna ask you to vote for him because you can vote until Sunday so I was not let down he had some variety to offer this time that was different from last week really enjoy the performance really enjoyed it what's going on with his hand here now I'm even more excited to see what he'll offer next time I really hope he makes it through the semi-finals what did you think about his performance his style the magic leave a comment below let me know your thoughts I'd love to hear them if you'd like to see more videos like this make sure to smash that subscribe button and click the like button while you're at it two birds one stone all that and I guess I'll see you next time [Music]
