after Mac passed vince staples played this at the end of his concert. i think he did it for the entire tour. it was a great tribute
That final small worlds verse is always what gets me. Canโt believe itโs been 2 years. Miss you Mac
Insane that it's already been 2 years, the wound is still fresh.
92 'til infinity..
Boy thundercat went off during "Whats the Use"
Few years ago Mac was playing WooHah festival. That year Nas was also scheduled and his set overlapped the start of Mac's. I was standing at the Nas set pretty much at the front and wanted to make my way to Mac when they announced Mac was delayed for whatever reason. So I get back to my spot and then I look at the side of the stage and Mac was standing there happy as fuck just watching Nas do his thing until he was done. I respected that moment so much like of course he is an artist and needs to perform but he's a fan of the game as well and you don't just skip out on Nas. Miss him and his music a lot, wanted to share this story. Rest In Peace Mac
Thundercat with the shaker in the background always gets me lmao
i have a weird connection to this video. I fucked around in my senior year too much, always skipping, not doing my work, taking the bus to my ex girlfriends house instead of going to school and doing too many drugs for my own good to the point where I had to get transferred to a fast track school to get my remaining credits to graduate. at the fast track school we sat in a classroom for five hours a day working nonstop on a school program called Apex Learning, with everything else blocked on the computers, it was mind numbing shit. except for some reason NPR and PBS werenโt blocked. i listened to this tiny desk on repeat during my time in that shitty school, everyday, and i still never got tired of it. beautiful soul, I miss Mac so fucking much. Iโm still going through a tough time and iโve been listening to almost nothing but his music, i relate to it like nobody elseโs.
This is one of my favourite musical performances, Mac is so relaxed and in his own zone, singing/rapping comes so natural and the live instrumental makes it so much better, everything is organic and it feels as if they just got together to enjoy music
Why is it so hard to miss someone youโve never known, someone who never even knew you existed? Iโve been listening to Mac ever since KIDS came out in early high school.
When he announced he was going on tour with Thundercat and JID, the closest venue was 3 hours away and I was trying to see if any of my friends would want to go. With no one really wanting to go I decided โFuck it, Iโll go by myselfโ and the day I was about to buy the tickets was the day he passed. I wish I had the opportunity to have seen him live.
