Omg she finally served Love Again justice! And this acoustic version is great <3
The album came out 9 months ago but it feels like the era is just now starting
Studio 2054? Tiny Desk? Upcoming SNL performance? The marketing! The Grammy campaigning! Sheβs keeping us so fed this era. Her work ethic is unmatched right now.
Confession, I only recently got around to listening to Future Nostalgia (loved it). For me this concert is so ideal because my main takeaway from the album was that while the production was nice, the topline melodies were what were really exceptional. Even in the songs that I didn't care for, I could appreciate that they were well written (musically), and a stripped Tiny Desk set is such good proof of this.
Also my favorite song was Pretty Please so I screamed when I realized it was included here! The slowdown at "Put my mind at ease" is a viiiibe
I know y'all like the funky fresh dance grooves, but I feel think Dua shines in these more stripped back performances and god damn do I like her so much more this way.
I originally fell in love with her voice because of a Live Longue performance and this is the only other thing I've liked from her that matches my enjoyment of that performance.
the acoustic love again is sooo good! it needs to be on the side b!
That bassline in Don't Start Now is super funky
She performed Pretty Please!! I love it!! I love that song, and it sounds fantastic live. The guitar players were great and I loved the backup singers too.
Love Again sounds great live, and is my favorite performance in this set surprisingly bc I never paid attention to the song. I can't get over how great the back up singers' harmonies fantastic here bc sometimes they take away from the artist. She needs a FN live album w/everyone in that room. Really elevated all of those songs
She has to release a stripped down version of Future Nostalgia.
