[Music] thank you [Music] all right so we got our shift lever installed I was gonna make a video of the setup on this but [Applause] I wouldn't recommend it just install a automatic shift column be a lot easier it didn't come with instructions or anything but basically you pull the lever to the side that's him parked there that's Drive you got the rest of your gears there it's pretty cool if it's a must if you don't want to cover up the hole in the floor but it's not worth the hassle just get a column all right what was in this line it's a transmission in there foreign foreign to install your torque converter if you did have it removed it would uh add at least a quarter fluid into your converter if it's a new converter get set up get it started in there [Music] huh I turn the converter left to right see that was the first click and then it'll match up to the pump inside that's it converters all the way in there you can see it's countersunk into the case if it's flush it's not in all the way just make sure you go left to right until it bottoms out all the way just to ensure when you put your transmission against your block if you tighten it down and the converter is out a little bit it's going to break the pump inside the transmission so this is the way to get it all the way in there you want to make sure the dowels line up on each side of the transmission that'll get you uh pretty close make sure it's flat up against the transmission uh the bow housing to the engine another thing to check before you start tying it down uh it's really important pull this cover off here and just make sure you could turn the the torque converter by hand that's just to make sure it's not binding on the flywheel or make sure the torque converter sat all the way inside the transmission if it is moving you're good should be about I don't know I'd say like a quarter inch Gap from the torque converter to the flywheel and then once you time those three bolts on the flywheel of the torque converter it'll come out where it needs to be a 15 millimeter deep socket for the transmission bolts with a part bolts I use this long 3 8 extension uh the ones without the stud will go at the bottom of the pan one on each corner put those four bolts for now I'm going to lift the transmission make sure this bracket clears and then uh check the lever up on top before we fully bolt it down all right we got our old Mount off the new Mount will come with this plate in the the bushing that'll go up on there we use the same bolts to put it back on transmission cross member just like that in place we'll go ahead and lower the mount that way we can see exactly where it's going to sit and then I'll make my final adjustments on the shift lever inside the cab that's it we'll go check out the lever on top see where it's sitting and I might have to depending where that stays I might have to shorten this or extend it out make it longer foreign adjusting this thing over and over and finally got it super close to the dash that's in park I need the lever over it's reverse neutral Drive it locks right there in park unless you move the lever over to the left and take it out of park put the old lever on there the old knob so it still has the manual gears let's go ahead and put the shift boot on there not bad looks pretty Factory all right all right now that we've got our shifter all set up our transmission in there we'll tighten up the bolts on the bell housing next thing we'll do we will tighten up our torque converter bolts make sure your torque converter still spins freely you can see one of the bolts right there in the flywheel will line up our first bolt starter bolt in there not tighten it all the way down just start it in there then we'll spin the crank and get all three bolts in there before we tighten them down tighten it by hand spin the crank get all three in there the torque converter will sit inside of the flywheel and then we'll tighten them down one more third one that's it I got them all tightened down Transmissions tying down flywheels tying down we won't put the starter in yet we'll measure out for the Driveline now measure out for your new Drive Line need your your donor Driveline from the 4l60 install it about where it was right in that originally make sure it's not scarred just let it rest there you're going to measure from the center of the U-joint to the center of the U-joint on the rear end you want to make sure it's not all the way bottoming out in the inside of the transmission so this one here is good at about 57 and a quarter inches so your measurement would be from the center of the U-joint here to the center of the U-joint here on your rear end so for this particular setup I'm gonna go with 57 and a quarter inches foreign you'll use your donor drive shaft don't need the front and then they will need [Music] they'll also need the rear piece that goes to that rear end that way they know the size there they'll put new yolks in there and then they'll use the front part of that donor LS Driveline when they make the new one they'll use both pieces take it to your local Driveline service ours here is a Fresno Driveline service typically one or two day turnaround to get our new Driveline back so that's it for part four we got our floor shifter in there transmission mounted torque converter hooked up um Driveline measured out we'll drop that off next we'll see you guys in part five finish up the fuel system we'll do the cooling system and hopefully get the wiring done thank you for watching please like And subscribe we'll see you guys in the next video
