what's up guys today I'm going to show you how to wire your LS swap the cheapest and easiest way possible no wiring diagram no pinout sheet no Google all you need is your factory truck harness your LS engine your factory truck fuse block and a little bit of a dream all right let's jump into it so the first step is putting your motor together you're going to want it to be pretty much complete um so fuel injectors coil pad and all the sensors you need plugged in and here's a list of everything that needs to be plugged in nothing more nothing less this is all you need to run your engine so basically I'm going to plug in the stock harness everything that needs to be plugged in everything that's not plugged in is going to get cut out of the wiring harness deepin from the computer or deepin from the fuse block and that's all you really need to to do so let's go ahead and get started so the fuse box and computer are mounted something like this on the truck so lay out your wiring harness accordingly and then we have our coil pack and injectors to plug in we'll do that first so here's the pigtail for the injectors one two three and four and the driver side coil pack and you can reuse all these Factory Clips it's a free Extra Protection from the factory injectors and coil packs are plugged in on this pigtail here we have the alternator connector and the throttle body connectors this model happens to be a drive by cable so we have throttle position and idle air control plugged in this is extra this goes to the EVAP unit on the top of the motor and this pigtail here runs beneath the car we have our coolant temperature on the front of the head here then this snakes around the bottom so this snakes are on the bottom here we have our AC plugs I will not be running AC see so these are going to get chopped out this is our low oil level don't need that we have our cam sensor and the crank wire hooks up to the starter we do need that over on this side of the engine we have our map sensor on the top we have our four injectors and our passenger coil pack again I'm going to be reusing these Factory safeties boom okay we have everything connected that needs to be connected I'm just going to run over over all that real quick before we start tearing this thing apart so we have our coil pack and our injectors on this side we have our coolant temperature sensor here up top we have our alternator plugged in we have our idle air control valve and throttle position sensor connected on the throttle body this is extra now we're going to go down and around on the passenger Lower Side here we have our crank sensor connected this is our starter hookup it's not connected cuz my starter is not on but I have it labeled over on the passenger side same story we have our passenger coil pack connected injectors 8 six 4 and two connected right here we have our passenger side O2 sensor connected and this long cable up front is our MAF sensor connected to the front of the engine we also have our driver side O2 sensor connected all this stuff is going to be going it's rear O2 sensor and automatic transmission control stuff I'm running a manual here's the other rear O2 sensor that's going to be leaving the chat as well and anything else unplugged aside from a few grounds that I cut off when I was pulling the harness which I have labeled here aside from those grounds everything else is going to be deleted so now for the scary part we have to take all the loom off expose all the wire and start stripping things let's get into it okay so it is completely Del loomed the whole wiring harness is just kind of out it looks terrifying and it is terrifying um but everything that needs to be plugged in is plugged in so you can't really mess up so now I'm unhooking my first sensor I think this is the evap purge connector um I've traced the pink wire to the fuse block which I chopped you can see that there and then the green wire will terminate at one of the computer connectors so I'm going to feed this through I have it tracked back to the computer and the fuse box cut the head and this wire on the fuse or on the this wire on the computer terminal I'm just going to push it through and pull the whole wire through sweet okay if you trace a wire back and it comes to a junction like this in this case it's a ground I'm just going to cut that right at the junction and it should be fine it's not a hot wire so it's not going to catch anything on fire so when you're done pulling every plug every connector and everything that needs to go you're going to come back to the fuse block here and just pop open this little blue retainer there's two of those on the fuse block connector you can pop those out pretty easy with the screwdriver and now we're going to dein all of the chopped wires that we don't need anymore this is an important step because these wires are hot wires they're connected to power so if you don't deepin these there's a chance that they'll ground out on something and you'll burn your car to the ground so take the extra couple minutes and deep in all these chopped wires going to grab a tiny screwdriver here sneak it in from the front side and just pop these out it's pretty intuitive super easy and just one by one dein all these connectors and you're probably going to come across a shared connector like this one um what I'm going to do is just cut the wire I don't need super super short so it has no chance of grounding out on anything and starting a fire now when you're all finished you're going to have a super clean shaved down connector got a little carried away didn't film too much but it's very repetitive and therapeutic process this is the remnants of what we've done today we've got a lot of clean wires with pins on them in case I need to use them for something else uh one thing I need to use one of those for is for the OBD2 sensor so you just wire that up separately and one of those pins goes directly into the computer okay this is what we come up with today so all the sensors that I mentioned before are still plugged in it is now a zip tie hell but it's pretty clean the O2 sensors are a little long cuz I don't know where that's going to end up with the custom exhaust but everything is good I just have to add a couple eyelet things to these grounds which were cut off here's the other ground passenger O2 sensor passenger side of the engine is looking clean as well now I just have to loom it up here's the long wire for the MAF sensor cuz it's going to be on an intake so I don't know where that's going to end up either but yeah that's that free LS swap harness you don't need to go buy a eBay one or shell out for a holly system this is included with your engine so you might as well use it here are the connectors for the computer and the fuse block terminal which I depinned everything that I'm not going to be using so it doesn't catch on fire boom so today we tore down the wiring harness removed everything we don't need and now we have a perfect LS swap harness um listen if I can do this you can do it too I've never done anything like this it's very straightforward it's timec consuming but honestly it's kind of therapeutic um I had I had a good time doing it so uh yeah give it a go don't shell out for a holly system if you're running a stock engine you really don't need to do that so everything that's left on the build well at least till the first start um I need to Plum the fuel lines which are in the mail right now um and then connect from the the chassis of the Jeep just three wires the crank wire the ignition and hook up the battery and the fuel pump and the next video we will start this bad boy up see if it works and uh yeah should be fun thanks for watching
