configuration data is stored in Active Directory and we can restore and recover our exchange functionality to a new server by running a specific command but there are some key points to keep in mind before recovering our question server so let's see what are those points when you lost the old server you have to take a new virtual machine or a physical server and you have to install a new server with the same operating system and the same version and Edition as the lost server was and install the exchange server pre requests on the new server and after that deploy the same number of disk and configure with the same drive letters reset the computer account in Active Directory that belonged to the lost server and rename the new server with the same name that belonged to a lost server and assigned the same IP address to a new server that belongs to a lost server and join the new server to the same domain where the lost server was a member now sign into a new exchange server with the necessary permission to install the exchange server and then locate the installation file and run the command like setup am recovered server I accept exchange server license terms after installing this command and new exchange installation will be done on a new server and all the functionality will be restored to a server but you should have a backup of your databases and once the installation is done you can restore your databases to a new server and all the functionality with the emails and databases will be up again so let's jump to our computer and see how we can perform this task so computer account in Active Directory we have renamed our server we have assigned the IP now the time to join the server to a new domain and after that we can start the installation of exchange with the setup recover switch just want to tell you that before pausing that machine like the old server I was able to login to the page but now we are not able to access the page as you can see the exchange is not there so it will not get connected you can see the site cannot be reached now so let's join our server to a domain and after that we will in start the recovery process she's welcome to take a check not n domain now the machine is join and it will ask for the restart let me restart it now we'll be back when some machine is restarted now the server has been restarted and joined to the domain let's try to login with the domain administrator now our all the main points like main key points has been done like we have installed a new operating system with the same edition and install the pre request on the new server we have deployed the same number of discs we have renamed the server as a previous loss server and we have reset the computer account in Active Directory also and we have joined the server to the domain as well and we are login with the permission of a domain administrator so that we can install exchange setup with the recovery switch command so now it's time to run the command so let's go to the C Drive and let me mount the exchange v so here you can see the setup file let's go to the command prompt and let's switch to the eat right if I see di er yes we have exchange files here and now you can set up dot exe I accept exchange server license terms / slash mode recover server and hit enter it will start the copping pile and then it will check for the
