Really excited for this game - looks like an even better version of Grand Austria Hotel, which is up there on my top 10 list.
Anyone else looking forward to it?
I got a copy from my Essen mule and we tried it two nights ago. It's great. We love games like Mombasa, Caylus, and Voyages of Marco Polo. This is a great game for four players. It's very tight and I love the fact that the same cards are in the game every time but just come out differently (like Le Havre, another favorite). I would definitely recommend it but I don't know its release schedule in North America. It's definitely a great brain burner.
Got this from an Essen mule and played it recently, and I must say, I loved it every bit as much as the rest of the Luciani/Gigli/Tascini games I've played (Tzolk'in, Voyages of Marco Polo, Grand Austria Hotel). In fact, I feel like the designers of these games may have passed Vital Lacerda a my favorite game designer.
This and Great Western Trail were my top two most anticipated games from Essen, can't wait to try. Glad both of those games are getting good word of mouth.
I got a chance to play this last weekend, and it might be my favorite game of the year, though I'll have to play it more to be certain.
It's incredibly tight and incredibly vicious. You must have a plan and you must have a backup plan for when someone messes up your plan, and you must have another backup plan for when someone messes up your backup plan.
If you're looking for something out of the box and fresh, this might not do it for you, as none of the mechanisms are new. But it's incredibly polished and well done. If you love mean worker placement games, you'll love this one.
I'm keeping an eye on it, but it's not speaking to me. I dismissed GAH when it first came out though and now I'm eagerly awaiting the reprint, so more reviews might sway me.
I play a lot of games at 2p and I'm skeptical of how this will work at that count.
oof! i'm really pumped for this game, as GAH is in my top 5 if not my #1. that said, it's so hard for me to get a feel for a game through rahdo's videos (sorry rahdo, if you're reading this). hopefully drivethru or tom vasel does a review soon!
