it's just one place that i want to be in december it's got to be london it's truly magical christmasy it's beautiful full of lights full of color full of joy there's something special in the air the vibe is just so brilliant my name is tiffany behind the cameras is jess and today we've got a special guest with us as well jonathan over the next 48 hours we're going to take you around london show you some of the best places to eat drink see watch listen to music [Music] and we are right in heart of london let's just go enough first place okay we're gonna be going to the shoe it's one of my favorite restaurants in london and um yeah the food is authentic it's from bombay everything about the shim is so loud let's just go straight in the only reason i love this food here is because it's absolutely authentic it carries the flavors right from bombay straight to london you see the wall out there it's pretty impressive it's a lot of fun when you go there have a read it is basically an iranian cafe transported from bombay straight to london street food in bombay is very much about water power the one we had here it was absolutely fantastic it's literally from your taxi drivers to daily workers every roadside has a venture of a small whatever stall call it you get it for as little as 20 pence 10 pence and it is absolutely delicious it's lip smacking it's packed full of flavor it's hot it's wholesome it fills you up it fills you with joy i think there are many restaurants in london especially many indian restaurants there are very few of them which really pack all the flavors and are authentic and you know they really transfer the flavors as they were as you would find them in bombay and spread in london i think you can't completely trip to london and enjoy indian food and not with a tissue the shoe is like an institution of indian food they it started like 10 years ago i think and started with one restaurant in copenhagen and i think now they've got like 10 around england and it is pretty amazing how quickly they've grown and it's consistency the food is absolutely delicious it's consistent and it's good value for money how cool is that this is traditionally what you'll see in bombay [Music] your bag all the cafes yeah next we're stopping at barbary barbary is a middle eastern african restaurant pack small plates packed with a lot of flavor a lot of punch fresh produce let's get in dig in this is a yemeni bit of coriander the green one's quite mild and lemony and you know sort of zingy the little yellow ones they can be a bit fiendish they creep off on you delicious it's like in between the chicken liver parfait and chunks of chicken liver delicious absolutely delicious what do you think yeah cauliflower was the real start of the show absolutely smashing full of flavors just the texture delicious absolutely delicious you could taste a lot of tahini and when you couple it down with the pickles it was absolutely delicious yeah i'd have one more of that another [Music] [Music] one [Music] we're here at nandan nanban is a brainchild of tim anderson tim anderson one master chef in 2012 i think but the food is absolutely delicious it's inspired by his travels to japan and his love for asian food [Music] we're gonna have tokyo modern ramen with chicken broth chicken thighs bamboo shoots spring onions bean sprouts some nori oil fried shallots and some katsu bushi powder i don't know what that is [Music] it's got a flavor of miso chicken but absolutely delicious the best comfort food you can have [Music] next stop we're in heffert heffer is one of those many small japanese bakeries scattered all around soho it's one of our favorite places to eat desserts they've got a really nice light souffle and you can enjoy with different flavors let's take you in show you the process and try it into the delicious softness silky souffles you will ever have wow we finally got them they look banging don't they i'm going to try the one with the chocolate silky smooth got another one absolutely rich chocolate just just imagine something in your mouth and just mellowing it down and just disappearing that's how soft these souffles are delicious [Music] we're going to gymkhana gymkhana is a michelin star indian restaurant in mayfair gymkhana the term itself is derived from the old gentleman club that used to exist in the british garage absolutely fantastic food great atmosphere great vibe let's just go straight in we're getting a four course meal our first score is going to be aloo chaat which is like a typical street food indian starter and then we're gonna go for a kid good keema which is again really delicacy of the tender goat meat minced meat mixed with spices absolutely delicious and the chef recommends we add some lime to it so we're going to do some lime and we've got these slider buns and the recommendation was we take a spoon put it on top close it down um you can feel the flavors of the meat itself which is really nice because um the goats have a really different flavor to lamb the flavor is very it's like a gamey flavor it's not really too gamey so delicious you can feel all the spices i love it try it [Music] and then for the main course we're gonna go for the very famous butter chicken needs no introduction if you know what butter chicken is you know what butter chicken is if you don't know what butter chicken is you don't know what butter chicken [Music] jeff this is my favorite place for dessert for dessert we're going to have baluda falluda is one of my favorite desserts and actually served really nice here it's a mixture of noodles like rooms like really thin noodles served with rich ice cream and put together is just sublime you will just have to eat it for yourself to know how delicious it is banging value for money for london mayfair oh my god i can't believe that so we're in a final stop more so morso is a small place tapas specializing in handmade pasta ronbo paolo and vanessa paul is from italy vanessa's from portugal the nice story of starting pop-ups and then they even did a kitchen in gales and now they have investors and they've got two restaurants in north london one in st johnswood and one in cancer rice absolutely delicious with italian food it has to be our produce the tomatoes are lovely and juicy plum you got the burrata on top which is creamy soft just kind of comes packs in a lot of flavor it's just [Music] pure raw flavors it's beautiful carbonara and the egg your crab here perfect thank you jesus where you gonna dig in first do you reckon it's gonna go oh look at that oh my god it smells the wine [Music] [Music] it's one of them stuffed mate stuff to them you know what let's call it a day see you tomorrow good morning this is start of a day two you're in little venice little venice is one of my favorite parts in london nestled in central london yet feels you're not in london just look at these beautiful views we're going to be starting a day at bondi green one day green is an australian cafe just opened their doors right before the lockdown they've got three or four branches in london in the paddington basin area and it's absolutely delicious all day brunch we're going to try some pancakes some eggs and just some really nice breakfast and some hardy coffee as well london shell company had to close its door towards the lockdown but they've hello they've taken a new model we're serving take away fish and chips the best fish and chips in town sadly didn't open yet but uh maybe we can try them later if you're around the area it's a bold statement though best fish and chips you'll ever have we'll see [Music] i think we're gonna have some we're we have some smashed avocado oh buttermilk blueberry pancakes orange lamingtons thank you charcoal bread it's just fantastic it's a really nice crunch to it the avocados are just rightly seasoned the eggs which is delicious let's just dig into it beautiful maple syrup it's beautiful [Music] we just got into half so you can either look at that it's just this there it is no it's the best orange cake let me just eat it it's just absolutely fantastic it's rich it's moist it's soft [Music] the coconut the orange the blender all the flavors come through really nicely [Music] [Applause] [Music] it's barry in today birthday beer and cereal cereal was born from a love of food drink and sunshine inspired by varying petitions travels around eastern mediterranean food here is levantine cuisine so that is best if you ask me what is lemon 10 cuisine just look at this cyprus turkey lebanon israel palestine jordan syria sounds like food heaven i'm gonna try the dips now let's see i really like it it's it's not too silky smooth it's really a bit coarse and really nice flavor to it it's really what hummus should be like really good really good wow look at the egg you know food makes me happy oh you've got the crispy onions on top oh look at that oh look there's the fat of the lamb it's beautifully cooked really soft just melts in your mouth the egg just gives it an extra layer of depth to the textures it's just beautiful it was so good [Music] we're right on the hottest server at rabato robada specializes in the long-standing japanese tradition of charcoal cooking [Music] this is a christmas christmas me that is banging you gotta try this that is absolutely banging oh my god that does look good deconstructed cheesecake oreo cheesecake oh my gosh it's very fancy cheese cheesecake it's a rich cheesecake ice cream or a layer here with the matcha ice cream being really nice and refreshing it really cuts through the flavors the oreo with fresh fruits i can have more i can finish it all it's good [Music] our next stop is hoppers inspired by sri lanka's village study shops it really transports you straight in the middle of a village in sri lanka which is what happens to be in the middle of soho so we've got the hopper here with the egg and some black pepper on top we've got the chili cheese dosa i think if we can get inside the chili cheese dosa that's where the magic is look at that there's some cheese green chilies then you've got the lamb curry which is packed full of flavor with some coconut some chilies that's fine it's not a lot of flavor a lot of chili or curry leaf you can taste a little bit of garlic it's really delicious now we're going to try this dosa with the coconut chutney it's really good it's got a i think cheddar cheese in a little bit of chili and the coconut chutney is it's a bit it's a bit chilly in the sense that not chili chili but cold and really cuts through the hotness of the chili in the methodology complements complimented really well you can feel a lot of butter around the doors as well it's good [Music] delicious [Music] we're caffeinated premium pastel denata portuguese pastries they've got strawberry natter apple and cinnamon blueberries raspberries too many to name [Music] hotel is one of my favorite rooms in any hotel that i've been to it's called the library room it's absolutely this complete calmness i absolutely love it just want to sit down and sleep and we've also got the queen it has to be one of my favorite hotels in london hey have you seen those lights they're made of coca-cola plastic bottles you swaddle what a way to recycle them it looks stunning stop it from those caps on the top of the lights it's fine so good wow we are red ahead red hat island is one of the finest bakeries hi mate um could i get a cappuccino maybe small cappuccino we are cahoots kahoots islam's best underground secret bars it's it's an old underground station which has been converted into a bar we're in the ticket office park look at this old memorabilia around it [Music] it's a public telephone what's that we ordered a couple of drinks once the cherries cherries and the apple of mai yeah this is jerry's cherries and this is amber thank you wow back for the flavors that's a real punch that one it's got a non-alcoholic spirit name apple juice pear juice i think a lot of pear in it very fruity [Music] carnaby's iconic kindly code is a three-story food and dining destination in the part of west london this place is absolutely buzzing it includes places like china mira the good a acai berry detox crumb and dollars pizza pilgrims sure
