- Now that things are opening
back up a bit in London, I've been meeting up with friends over some great street food in the city. So I took my camera with me so I could show you some good food to try while in London and also introduce you to some cool people that
you might want to follow. Just so you know for this video, I'm classifying street food as just anything that can
be eaten standing up. First up I went to Chinatown to meet Shu. - Hello, I'm Shu and I
make videos on YouTube about food and London lifestyle and today I'm so excited
to be here with Jess and we're now outside Chinese
Tapas House in Chinatown and we're going to try Jian Bing. Which is essentially a Chinese crepe, it is made out of flour and eggs and inside you can
customize all the fillings. So you can have mung beans, spring onion. You can have eggs, proteins,
veggies, whatever you want. (bright upbeat music) You can choose to add some Chinese sausage and some meats and crab sticks, but with this one we've gone all veggies. We've got some fried dough sticks, pickles, egg, and lettuce. And then lots of spring
onion, extra flavor. And it's cool because you can actually watch them make it right
in front of you as well. So that's really, that's
the fun of the experience. So we're now sat down. Over in Newport with
all the outside dining and we've got both
halves of our Jian Bing. And the great thing about this is that it's £5.50 for a huge, huge crepe. So if you are sharing with a friend, it's such a good cost-effective option. But this is it, all layered up. So you've got the batter
of the crepe on the outside and it's filled with spring onions and inside we've got
some fried dough sticks and some lettuce and some extra egg. So it's good for vegetarians. I'm going to take a bite. - So the pancake does have egg in it. - Yeah. Oh yeah. - Oh, that's good. - Next up was a visit
to Richmond with Mechi. Hi, I'm Mechi. "Londres My Way" in
Instagram and we're here in Richmond to try some
Argentinian empanadas. We are going to Chango, which
is an Argentinian place. They do the best empanadas in London. So what we do in Argentina is
we have like empanadas night. We get together, we drink beers. Wine, malbec of course. And we have some very good beef empanadas. Very nice flavors. Like we do have, sometimes people do invent flavors and these are really good. So everything is good here, actually. (ordering in Spanish) (upbeat electronic music) - The thing is, how do you
recognize which one is yours? They have little letters here. So this is probably ham
and cheese, I think. And usually this is a traditional repulge, the way they close empanadas. This one is a beef for sure. And then you can check the corners of every empanada for the
lettering to identify yours. So this is not a very feminine way to eat an empanada, but I'm going
to do a show for you. So you have to open your lips because it's going to drip a lot. Let's see how this empanada is, which I know it's going to be good. Mmmmm. - My next street food meetup was in London bridge with Paige Mariah. Hey guys, it's Paige of the
YouTube channel Paige Mariah. I'm an American living abroad
in London, blogging my life. And I'm here today with Jess
to try some amazing food. So we're at Vinegar Yard and we're going to be going to Baba G's. - And they have these amazing Indian style nachos that are made of poppadoms. Pachos, a cross between
nachos and pappadoms, comes topped with Indian style salsa, raita, mango pulp, and chili pickle. It's a side dish on the
menu, but it's pretty big. We decided to also
order some Kali nuggets, a vegan version of their
spiced chicken nuggets served with vegan raita and
Baba's fresh chili sauce. My next stop was to meet
Jackson in Shortage. - Hey guys, I'm Jackson
from Black Eats London. You find us on Instagram, Black Eats LDN. We highlight black owned
businesses across London. And today we're in Brooklane, just here. And we'll be checking out City Juice, which is a sugar cane cold press company. And we'll show you how it works. So yeah, here at City Juice, they do cold press sugarcane juice. On top of just sugarcane juice,
you can get other flavors. You can get ginger and
lime, pineapple, lime, passionfruit, and the
latest flavor is strawberry, but they don't have it today. But yeah, this is what they do. - Welcome back. Welcome back. We're
here. Lockdown is over. It's lifted. The City Juice is back! So I'm going to give you the rundown now of us making a new flavor
that we've got going. Sugarcane and pineapple juice. Come, come on, get involved. Chop the ends off, as per usual, we're gonna chop it up. We got to chop it. You want the raw ripe colors. Pure, golden, delicious. Put it in my machine. (sugarcane crunching) Getting the freshness out, look at that. Pure gold, pure gold. Pineapple go in. And this is sugarcane
with pineapple juice. - Yay! - Really good. - My next adventure was
to meet Kelly in Soho. Oh, look, who's back. - I missed you guys. Those who may not remember me from last video that I was in, I'm Kelly. I'm one of Jess's most
dearest London friends. And even though I'm not
a foodie, London blogger like my girl, I run an art and design collective here in London called Fount. So we're here in Carnaby. We're going to go into Kingly court. There's this place that's
called Club Mexicana and they do Mexican street food. So we're going to go and try the burrito. - Oh yeah. - We traveled here for Club Mexicana. One of my favorite street foods in London. They do Mexican with like a twist. It's not authentic. Just kind of like a fun Mexican
and they do only vegan stuff and it's still really,
really, really freaking good. My favorite is the, either
the cheeseburger burrito which is what I'm gonna show you today, but there's also cheeseburger tacos, which are (chef's kiss) delicious. (dreamy indie music) I'm not sure exactly what's in this, but it's essentially like what a taco or a burrito and a cheeseburger
would be if it was combined. So there's the ground beef,
but obviously it's vegan. There's rice, cucumber, lettuce, tomato, a delicious cheesy sauce,
like a cheeseburger, and a couple other bits
that make it really good. Buffalo chicken. - It's a Buffalo chicken
with ranch, we have pickles. There's coleslaw in there. And a really nice relish. And it's just really really colorful. And I honestly can't taste non-chicken. It has a very meaty texture to it. - One more street food
I want to include here. And that I've mentioned on the channel before is a bilog from
Mamasons Dirty Ice Cream. A bilog is a Filipino dessert and it's essentially a pandesol,
which is a hot sweet bun. It's stuffed with ice cream. And the one you want to
choose of course is the ube. Ube is a Filipino purple yam. It's really good. Couldn't not mention it
in a street foods video. - Obviously there are so many more amazing street foods around London to try. So this video is a part one. And if you have any suggestions for other street food that
you've tried in London that was fantastic, leave them down in the comments below and it might be included in the next video. Remember we love supporting
small vendors, small businesses in markets that are a
little bit lesser known. And for more tips for doing
cool things around London, watch one of the videos that's
popping up around my head.
