hi guys welcome back to the video today we're back in Warrington remember last year we came from Manchester now it's time to go on we're going to be following the Warrington to witness line lower level a highlight being an amazing explore around the now defunct Fiddler's ferry power station Green gaydar right as you can see in the background that is Warrington are please signal box that's where we've finished a trip last time remember so let's follow the line and let find this new Warrenton banky lower level alright so as we're looking over the bridge here we're looking down a Warrington banky low level so remember this went underneath the big station that's still standing curve ground and like you say took the coastline all the way through to witness here we are coming up to cross gate signal box this was original size for the station it was a first station that was built here unfortunately lower level hadn't been completed so they had to build a temporal and this is where it was located [Music] and the right either used for some sightings to the bank the key soap works on the left a you'll find the merci tube works which had loads of its own personal siding here we have this next single box down on the line covering this level crossing yeah I met this guy I don't used to be a load of quieter Indian mafia very secure photograph the class sixties working learning it's at a power station lots of sheer me I got much traffic now although the lines are still used but they're not to regular these days the trends why there's only a few years but really what this it by the canal just poured off all the MGS coupling guru in plus sixties million when before that which plus when is and it's probably the futures not looking too good level the power stations of calls on the right ear we have mercy rivet works it passed the back of the box and it led to this massive complex the ironworks on the left ear they would have gained that massive complex it was the iron work the loads and loads of sidings he goes all the way up the line for about half a mile hello again we've come as far as monks sidings now there this was quite a busy area did since last year they've got I will put the black but they used to be Anil it decided a railway there was only about ten years ago I was walking up in class sixties troughing Thomas crossing when he brought directions when the premise station was there's still a cross over here I suspect there's only one line use never but we'll move along your line anyway so if you want to follow those Ready's hounds guys ready for some sightings there's no more I'm afraid here's an aerial shot looking for me other side of the bridge near the Sankey bridge station at the moment coming up very shortly looking back toward Warrington I have drop-down this bar now this is the old thank you bridge railway station as you can see the old platform still in place last time I visited there was two platforms but I think the suit was removed one now so there's only one left now so we're going to move towards the power station after this nice bug box the overgrown as usual these are the old platform edges as you can see they've just been whipped up and luckily not discarded so they could either be put back so that anybody wish to do so yeah all gradient marker come fight so we haven't got the two ends to it looks like a jigsaw puzzle I'm sure it's here somewhere shame really that you see there was a station on the other side what looked like it'd been dug away all right as you say plenty of these slabs but no signs of a station building I'm afraid you can look in the back there you can see where the wooden edging was so this wasn't a very very wide station just like it covered the basic needs of the line that's where we're heading next so the back of the station here there's a very big complex called the Mersey white leadwerks again it has massive sidings and a lot of railway connections on the left here there was a small courtyard serving all the general needs of a small station oh we've got spawn there was a pink fairy bridge additional platform this was the stated building in front to keep on going we're getting slowly towards very very you Bridget pickle it's Barry sorry so this is the site the platform you see there how the mound is sticking out slightly not a lot of clues but this was a site of the station and like you say the station building is still standing that was told by my partner amazing yeah a couple hundred yards down the road this is the main entrance to the yacht yard but very close to the power station now he was surprised that the signal there was there to a complimentary yeah mother nature one trainspotters nil is absolutely mega overgrown it's a quality piece of architecture there but no chance of getting new I'm afraid you could actually walk there was no fences on sides and could actually just get on the ballast inside their truck and photograph the court rooms coming out at the power station that sent me forth with one on beneath it but it's just sort of a girl know you just can't get anywhere in the area at all here we are at the power station people it's very power station the signal box it's all overgrown now I mean we got more with less right after that when we would come in there about ten years ago the cold trends are coming out of the sidings from the power station and you could just get all the tech pictures will anyone hear it now the canals all the Google on the signal box look like it might will be at least now power stations that are use now welcome to fiddle is very the power station that fed the Northwest which is dead and is due to be demolished let's check it out right here we have it Fiddler's Ferry signal box I like to thank Andrew the signalman they get me permission to go around don't try it yourself or you'll be done for trespassing so here we have the main entrance as you can see we've got the main silo ahead with a coal chute round the back headshots in centerfold Ryan going on went straight ahead shanemilli this place you'd be mad mad busy look at it now I'm off a song for myself here we are coming up to the power station or one of those sidings anyway you're starting to finish this and then we'll move on to the next and any MTR will come up here for fun Carly's holding siding amazing shame really box power station everything will soon be history I'll come forever shame shame shame here we have the main drop that the limestone and the gypsum that used to take limestone in and used to take the gypsum out there used to be a big massive conveyor that came from the furnace and that's where with all processed so this is like the MDR kind of thing but for the waste product so here we have the line that fed him to the silo John you're not with the main lines that went round to do the MDR kind of things where'd you drop the caller top end of the power station all the sidings and came together to move back onto the main line wow this is amazing so here we have some other main sidings the one that served the gypsum is on the right the one that served the MGR cold rock is on the left as you can see the rather rusty and not used currently this was originally the site of a station cuddly Street station 1856 - 1858 Oh still standing still live now we're still going around where we ended up you know these posts for all about forgive you for height restrictions there's a power station dead just as dead as these sidings our shame really if you notice these lines on the left this is a start of the big loop the loop that went round to serve the coal so these are the main lines that went up to serve the main chute now let's follow it round see where it goes it's a nice Road I think it's private so I don't think we'll be able to get any shots there here we go can you see your head that's them coal chutes I was telling you about so effectively the coal we've done there is two shoots actually an old route it was only one that the last power station I went to so it shows how busy this place was that's a Satan double entry to dump Nicole and spin it round here's a general ovis shot of the power station and this is where we're at at the moment the part of the trip we're not going to walk it's the one beyond the coal chutes if you notice on this picture there is a big massive loop beyond the chutes the locomotives would go into the chute slowly making their round this route dropping their load trailer by trailer so when's to finish this they be pointing in the other direction ready for leaving the complex and so we got that lovely nickname of merry-go-round or mg Rs do you like to be called by your spotters right let's nip back let's see what clues we can find a mate rocky back on ourselves silent monsters as I used to call them their kids look at them at least eight in this place this piece of history now no more power from this place he was walking back and it's still going on that will occur just in case you missed any shot down right say this will soon be a housing estate our summit even more disgusting I'm sure mr. line nee Baga so that's a british rail line I called it compared to here which is the power station sidings they say all these sightings are now closed it is no more shame really instead of going back to that silo on the side we'll follow these lines here a bit more they're traceable 11 ba mmm as you can see very overgrown the boob okay she wants to go ahead best to whistle all right all powerpoints no pulleys at all that's where that conveyor belt well what could the distance at travel keep following this down here until we finally hit the signal box of all the lines using this siding this is looks like the most busiest I think receipts are clearest left of the whole got bits of edgy on them and everything Shane really without putting along these are very long sidings this otherwise I would have took the miss steeles what you might be able to you the signal box ahead Fiddler's very power station signal box now coming back I'm hitting semaphores again does that mean there was a regional power station here and then they extended it and that's why we've got the colored lights ahead I don't know but this is that you can see very close to a signal box it doesn't make sense so all of the lines become one before going on to the main line ahead one two three four plenty shanties $20 that recalls them yeah I Krishna whoa look at all these why are they for the semaphores and still active see here's going to a head shunt I talked about one which joins on with the main line it's the main line that we're still walking nee Baga yeah I'm this decide to yeah that's where the catheter our signal rocks was and you can see the sidings it from I'm not sure what that silently useful with that take the semaphore of active went your last beer oh yeah the line still used all this Joss is a new one anywhere and the left here we had a massive chemical works it's called Sullivan works it had again like everything else found here as a load of internal sidings right on the left here was the original route to witness on the right you can see the line that is what we call the witness deviation apparently they wanted a connection with all the main lines originally only went to one route whereas lnw I wanted to connect with anything and everything hence they built in the deviation to create junctions here there and everywhere as we slowly approach witness you can see here remains of the Industrial Revolution shame really was Dease it's a testimony of what used to be on the left there's a large chemical work called the most brat works weird name so if you look rather deeply upon the left-hand side that's where the witness locomotive sheds were and witness South Station which just beyond that let's go and check it out come back here this site witnessed South Station right so here we have witness south from the front this is I want you to look at the front from street level but can you see these plans to the side this was the location of the platforms same again both sides it wasn't subway that went underneath the signal box here and like you say just we're done freezer is where the engine shed used to be no signs of Exile other than this railway flat going through the middle nothing off our and so we now come to the end of the trip I hope you enjoyed the trip and now I'm going to leave you with some pictures done by Nick Melling from 10-15 years ago enjoy [Music] [Music]
