hello friends the CEO thanks for joining me today I'm sharing the contents of my backpack before I head out for my travel plans and all that are inside are everything I own at the moment besides one hiking backpack that I'm leaving behind at my sister's place for me with what I am taking in my backpack I focused mostly on carefully curated selections of functional pieces that are preferably ethically sourced and cautiously consumed as much as possible so today I would go through the details and the individual pieces inside my backpack first of all what I will be wearing and carrying on my body includes my rain jacket which I invited you into my belongings since I actually left my old one back in Korea and underneath I'm also wearing my linen wrap jacket that's from the same sweatshop free and small business designer that I support on Etsy and I also have a layer of hemp shirt and a linen halter top that's underneath for bottoms I'm taking my cotton hiking pants which I got in Japan to wear when it's cold and I usually pair this with a long underwear during colder months and for shoes I have my comfy hiking socks and also my barefoot minimalist shoes which I have been wearing for the past six months and I do expect these to last a long time [Music] in my tiny crossbody bag I hold my valuables including my passport my wallet and my glasses and it's convenient to access and I also will fit my Canon infant and 50 inside there as well for accessories I'm wearing my want and favorite hat I also have my wristwatch which I always find very useful and of course I'm taking my backpack and this one that I have right now is a 35 litre capacity and it's made by the creative team and packed and the generously gifted me this backpack which I was in need for actually and I feel good to support those willing to commit to plastic free packaging to vegan materials as well as using recycled plastic fabric and on the side of this bag where the compression strap is I have my yoga mat secured here and I will continue to practice while traveling doing yoga also my other spiritual practices like meditation and EFT and the healing co and the mat right now is being held with a strap that I made from leftover paracord and I can also choose to easily tuck the yoga mat in the front pocket as well and on the other side I have my water bottle securely tucked inside we have easy access to it in another added feature that I've noticed is the lockable zippers and this to me comes in handy because I want to keep my gear safe in secure also the the bag that I had before that I traveled with for close to six months I decided on taking this one instead because of the added features as well as the larger capacity and I feel like the shoulder padding the the hip straps and the sternum strap sternum straps are much more comfortable for my body now for the content the back has several compartments including a pouch as well as a hidden compartment for cash for anything like documents and right now I'm just using the mesh pouch for my basic first-aid kit and it's easy to access this at any time the top pouch includes some handy dividers which holds high stationaries like my fountain pen and my notebook and also some knickknacks that I own and while packing for this trip I'm noticing how much attention and care is actually needed in in the selection process and even the small things the knickknacks I'm choosing to mindfully think about the weight the compactness as well as the placement so that it can be packed with similar objects and because these kimonos are so small it's so easy to multiply things especially because small things are so unnoticeable they tend to pile up when neglected so to be intentional to be aware of the temptation to accumulate a lot of small things I applied my practice of mindful consumption when I was curating my things and I simply chose to invite what I find is truly necessary and truly worthy of keeping [Music] for the bottom pouch I placed my outdoorsy and sporty things in here and in the beginning my intention was to also take my compact hammock to take my hammock straps and all these things but I realized that I can still enjoy my travels to the fullest even without all of these things so I did make some last-minute changes and I think that putting all these things into my bag feeling the weight on my body and see how much that I'm really really taking I kind of had a reality check that I'm much prefer taking less things so that I won't be bothered by the weight of keeping up with all the luxury items so once again I'm coming back to simplicity to the basic things that I love and appreciate also this bag comes with a waterproof pouch which I feel is the thoughtful choice that they made during the creative process so all my liquids are in here as well as some moisturizing box that I'm taking with me and these are the only skin care products that I'm using while traveling since most of you already know that I like to keep my feeding routine pretty simple and plus I no longer wear makeup so I don't need a lot of products to keep up with my skincare [Music] now on to the main left compartment and the side is where my clothing my shoes and accessories are stored and they're all folded neatly arranged roll style to keep it compact and I also like how it's easy to access with lists I love organizing and I'm also taking my pasta carry bento box and and I make sure to fill it up with some knickknacks to conserve space and this includes a cotton mask a menstrual cup that's wrapped in a reusable baggie also my exfoliant facial sponge my non-toxic clay tooth powder and a high-quality bar of soap that I use for all purposes including washing my hair my body and face for clothing I'm taking most of the things that I already had from my 15 clothing capsule wardrobe you know so I did get rid of some things through reselling and donating in and I actually lost my black linen pants when I was traveling in Taiwan so I decided to invite two new pieces that are more aligned with my travel lifestyle so my new long pants are going to replace my pants that were lost and I also got some new shorts that are more compact lightweight and with more utilitarian features like zip pockets for colder climates I'm sticking to layers instead of taking bulky winter items and from my own experience I was able to survive with what I have when I was exposed to low temperatures during my previous travels even through snow and ice so I trust that what I have will continue to bring me comfort in safety and I trust that I won't be too uncomfortable with what I already own and also at the moment I'm focusing on letting go of my fear or any feelings of anxiety or any panicky thoughts that come up from me when I'm thinking about not having enough like not having the proper gear and clothes for not being the most comfortable place and I'm focusing more on allowing things to be flowing with ease and figuring it out at that moment instead of trying to plan everything or trying to hold assumptions or being swayed too much by my own fear as well as the fear coming from external sources so I trust that in my travels that I will be healthy I will be saved Coulson and I will be protected and also warm and cozy with my necessities all covered my needs fully supported for the main right compartment I decided to store my gear as well as some knickknacks that didn't fit in the front pocket so I have my laptop that's tucked inside the padded pocket so there's no need for me to separately buy a laptop sleeve and also I was planning to take my mini travel teapot but I ended up deciding that I didn't want to risk it breaking and I also realized that I can always find a new teahouse that I want to go to where might I end up bad some of the things that I am taking includes my tripod the one trekking pole that I have for hiking a neti pot to clear my airway also my scrubber wash back for doing laundry by hand and a compact foldable backpack for groceries and for short day trips and for my cables I was putting some thought into making a recycled pocket with dividers but I came to the conclusion that sometimes these containers organizers in any fancy cases they tend to consume more space so for my travels I decided that it's okay to simply stick with the quartz in a basic lightweight bag and I feel like sometimes even the most bare bone playing this kid can be appreciated and used to its fullest potential for me deciding on what to keep for my storage what to take and all the shifting sorting through why things after years into minimalism it also gave me another opportunity another day to to reflect on why I enjoy the process of learning to let go learning to surrender as well as the process of learning to accept true abundance and this opportunity to pack and to gather my things before I head out it unfolded gradually through many months of carefully thinking and contemplating on what to hold on to they did go through a long and gentle process of uncovering all the thoughts and feelings that I had about my things in also the attachment I had about my material identity and I had the chance to understand more deeply my relationship with my possessions and I will definitely share more along the way while I continue to focus on being where I want to be doing what I enjoy doing and consuming mindfully what sparks drawing within and I hope that what I shared with you today was useful in some way and if you enjoy this video please
