LIVING IN MY CAR: SLEEPING/NIGHTTIME ROUTINE | Katie Carney

hi this is Katie I am in Virginia somewhere I'm stopped at a Flying J and I'm about to go to sleep and I want it to plug it lock my little nighttime routine I show you guys what I do I know that I've showed this in many videos but I'm always like mildly changing things or using different things so I wanted to show you the first thing that I'm gonna do incredibly quickly is the one thing that I have to do outside of my car cuz I just want to like get that over with and that is put those little stretchy things over my back windows so I don't know if you're gonna really be able to see this but I mean I'm gonna show my car off - that's not good okay you might be able to see this one okay hi so there okay Mac so the next thing that I do is lock my doors and I double-check that they are locked about 45 times before I go to sleep the next thing that I'm gonna do I think I'm just gonna like set everything up and then get like my person ready for bed the last couple of videos that you've seen me sleep in my car I was sleeping in the front seat but the video from this past Friday that you saw I mildly reorganize my car it's definitely not like perfect but I did it enough that I can sleep in the back seat so I just kind of moved some stuff so I'm gonna be able to sleep in the back seat again tonight it's my favorite place to sleep and so there's some stuff that I have to do once I get back there but one thing that I'm gonna do while I'm up here is I bought some new I will have these linked in my Amazon I bought to to try them I think oh these are like window covers I think this is just for the front window and I think that this is supposed to cover like a bunch of windows so let's open this one I don't know cozy zone that's a real trade name that's a real good name so it's just a bunch of these like things okay they all opened at the same time this is not fit is this supposed to fit oh no it's like a centimeter too small but what if I tilt it I don't think so well is that right it doesn't feel right it doesn't feel right like it doesn't feel like it's like locked in am i doing this all wrong they came with a million of them I know that some of these are for the front oh is this for the back that's cool oh it's coming back at me and then why does this have its own case whoa this one has it been so this prism uh whoa this is huge I think I got the wrong size or something business Oh also face they smell like plastic chemicals just over just as a PS alright I think this one was a fail we're gonna see if that one fits in the back but besides that this is just uh no just no so we're gonna cover the front windows like I normally do that's just over there but I wanted a new one for the the windshield because we all had Ahad if you guys watched my videos you know that I had like a bunch of trouble with it like would never say I hope that this one works this is easy shade this one fuzzy smells even more like plastic like a pool toy I hope this one works because I didn't bring the old one okay okay I put this behind the camera so I'm gonna knock you okay this one that was very easy and it fits because there's just two that are not connected so you can just slide them however fits your windshield so I like that but now I can't really put you back here professional youtuber okay so I wanna go to sleep like 11:15 I've been driving for like nine hours and what else is new my back really hurts like my shoulders and all that stuff so I'm gonna double double check that the doors are locked and then we are going to get I have t-shirts in the back so I have two t-shirts that like I don't wear but I don't want to get rid of and so I use these to hang up you guys know that I use these pins I keep them on my feeling it got really dark so I'm gonna do that I know that lighting is still real bad but you guys know that I have all these pins that I use so I'm just gonna put a t-shirt up here and I just slide the pins in and then I puts them on the bottom too and especially sleeping in the back like there is some but you know what's behind it we're getting crafty here oh yeah can you guys see what I just did I put up the t-shirt and then I slid this behind it so now even that little part of the window that I never ever have been able to cover now that's covered it's my excited dance okay other t-shirt on the other side if you're very interested in seeing this process again also we talked about the weather a lot I feel like guys not in like a boring way but in like a legitimate way and I didn't really check the weather before he left about what it was going to be and it is very warm and so I luckily I came from my mom's house I was in New York and luckily I put some ice and water into one of these and I'm sure the ice melted by now but it's still like to the touch it's cold and so I'm going to put this in my sprayer which I have down here somewhere if I can live like sprayer with a fan attached to it which if you guys saw my videos from like last year like how to stay cool in your car I suggested putting like cold water in that little squirt efan so I'm gonna do that and I'm very excited about it okay I feel like some of you guys why you sent your nose why don't you do this it seems easier seem easier it's usually very quick for me right now this is taking much longer than it normally does I think it's just because I'm trying to figure out if these are necessary and I think that I like them are they supposed to go is it silver supposed to go out of the blackout or does it matter I don't know if it matters I guess we'll find out in the morning now that that's all done before I get in the back seat they're very very quick things that I do to get ready I obviously obviously don't have any makeup on but I still like to just kind of like wash my face off of like the day you know and I always use simple wipes these are the clear skin oil balancing one I'm not even oily but I have these my favorite are the green ones which I think are just like the regular ones but ooh these smell good and then bad but but yeah I just like this brand of wipes and I bought a bunch of different like like styles or types cuz they have a bunch of different ones so yeah this smells good and then it smells like Chinese food or something I don't really understand it and then I am going to put lotion on it and so here's the thing again since my car is not like completely organized my skincare is under this pile of stuff that I cannot get to however I did leave out my face lotion so I'm not gonna like go crazy with like a few steps like sometimes I do I'm just gonna use my face lotion this is the Wren bio retinoid anti-aging cream this is almost empty I really really like that a lot I've kind of switched to mostly Rend products lately I was gonna put that on I didn't even take out eye cream I don't know what I'm thinking and yes my hands are clean okay and then I'm gonna brush my teeth and then I am going to if I couldn't remember where I put my shorts I'm gonna put my shorts on and if not I'm gonna sleep in these comfy pants I'm wearing joggers but they're like you'll see them I think in like this Friday's video like after this video I was not sure if I was gonna keep him or not because I just I didn't know but then I realized after I kept them like these are the perfect driving pants because they're pants and they look like pants like they don't look like sweatpants or anything they look like pants but they're super super comfy and so if something happens in you park and you can't find your pajamas or something you can just sleep in them so yeah I'm gonna brush my teeth quick and then we're gonna get in the back okay so I just have a bag of food back there that I'm gonna bring up here and then we're gonna get in the backseat and then how I want to organize this like if you didn't watch last Friday's video go watch that but how I actually want to organize it is kind of have like everything in the front seat essentially have everything in the front seat except for the stuff that I need to sleep and the stuff that goes on the floor but I mean I don't really want to have anything on the back seat in the car also I forgot to put chapstick on this is just an EOS my favorite has been the bite Beauty one for the last little while but my new favorite is the G way lip enhancer oh my gosh that's like a dream but this is good especially that the G way and the bite ones are like fourteen sixteen dollars and this is like three so and they're all gluten free PS I am really kind of thirsty but I have a rule that I do not drink any liquids after like 7 p.m. or so because I don't want to have to pee in the middle tonight so rule of thumb literally thumbs okay okay let's go on the back seat oh gosh oh okay these things are pretty like I know you can see through them but from outside and you can't really however I still cover them because I like to and again I know that a lot of you guys are like oh my gosh just so many steps it takes you so long it doesn't usually take me this long like I'm explaining it to you guys so it's taking longer in the video when it's just me it does just take a few minutes but also I don't mind at all this is the little spray fan that I was talking about and I don't even know if had batteries okay yeah but I'm going to pour this warm water out and then the cool water back in but we're gonna cover the windows first and for the back windows I use quick dry tell us that you were just balancing on that's why the angle moves and I just have to like they're super thin quick towels I just do the same thing it doesn't even matter it does not matter what you use if you want to do this method it doesn't matter what you use you could use all t-shirts you could use all quick titles you could you know honestly honestly for the first probably year my car I didn't even really cover my windows at all I just didn't care I suggest covering your windows but I didn't and still never had a problem so I'm just gonna put this towel behind you sorry don't mind my reach and there's tons of other ways like if you don't really have a lot of stuff in the front seat then you don't even really need to cover the whole front sometimes I have just covered like literally put like almost like a curtain from here to here just right behind the front seat like there's just a million different ways you can do this like there's no wrong way to eat a Reese's you know I mean now that everything's covered the last thing that I do is push these front seats forward like this not not like this but like this just so I have a little more room then I just I have two pillows I have two blankets I'm just gonna lie down okay ready I definitely don't need two blankets I honestly barely even need one but I am one of those people who likes to sleep with some kind of blanket or sheet or something on me yeah I don't really have room to put this down but I don't care here's the thing this is gonna seem so uncomfortable to so many of you but I promise you for me I am so comfortable just believe me like we're all different just because you might not like this or you it might not seem comfortable to you doesn't mean that it's not comfortable for me you know what I mean and also my car is usually not this filled it's just that I've somehow accumulated a lot of food and that's taking up a like a bit of my car and then I also have a bunch of bags that I have stuff to give away or return and so there is more stuff in my car then there should be like a week or two from now my car will just have less stuff in it and so this is just what I'm dealing with right now and I'm totally okay with it you know I mean like we all have priorities and choices and this is mine okay then I just leave down you because I'm so excited I have nozzle to my car in the back seat in so long like honestly this to me again we all have different opinions this is more comfortable than some beds on honestly like I've never woken up in my car in the back seat with my back hurting but I've woken up in beds with my back hurting of them if the bed's too soft or something so yeah that's real that's just how I get ready for bed these are my guys this is biscuit this is cornbread and we're gonna cuddle up and go to sleep and then wake up and drive a few hours to did I tell you guys where I'm going yet I can't remember I'm going to Nashville for just a few days and then I'm headed more out west but you'll see footage on that next week but
