could the congregation stand please lord thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations before the mountains were brought forth or ever thou has formed the earth and the world even from everlasting to everlasting thou art god thou turnest man to destruction and says return ye children of men for a thousand years in thy sight or as yesterday when it is past another watch in the night thou carriest them away as with the flood and they are asleep in the mornings they are like roth which with us the days of our years are three score and ten years and if by reason of strength there be four score years yet it is strength labor and sorrow for it is soon cut off and we fly away who knoweth the power of thine anger even according to thy fear even so is i wrought so lord teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts and to wisdom amen you may be seated please it is with mixed feelings that we have gathered here this morning feelings of sadness and sorrow because our god and today for those of you who might need the facilities the facilities are straight through these doors if you are at the back or near to the back through the double doors at the back then you continue straight um in the hall and you go straight down to the double doors on your left and then you would find i'm disabled and you'd find ladies and gents as well i'm there if you'd like to use the facilities covid19 is still rampant it was yesterday that i met someone who lost his mom from covid 19. 19 just recently so it's still rampant so if you are not exempt we encourage you please wear your mask properly when you come up to speak you can take your mask off but when you are down there please wear it properly over both your mouth and your nose so make sure you are wearing your mask properly so we can protect each other as much as possible by the grace of god the program is being live streamed at the moment so people can watch and can see the program what's happening so if there's someone who wanted to be here but they can't make it and they are near on youtube then they can get on their gadget and they can type in peckham seventh-day adventist church that's pecum thank you very much amen amen amen we'll have the tribute at this fancy good morning church i'd like to dedicate this poem from all the family members my sisters my uncle vincent's nieces and nephews great nieces and great nephews who are not here and for various reasons they're not in this country or for whatever other reason i'd like to dedicate this poem and please bear with me it's entitled come with me i wander breswell god saw you getting tired and the cure was not to be so he put his arms around you and whispered come with me cheerful eyes we watched you suffer and saw you fade away although we loved you dearly we could not make you stay a golden heart stop beating hard working hands at rest god broke our hearts to prove he only takes the best it's lonesome here without you we miss you more each day life doesn't seem the same since you've gone away when days are sad and lonely and everything goes wrong we seem to hear you whisper cheer up and carry on each time we see your picture you seem to smile and say don't cry i mean god's keeping we'll meet again someday you never said i'm leaving you never said goodbye you were gone before we knew it and god knew and only god knew why a million times we needed you a million times we cried if love alone could have saved you you never would have in died in life we loved you dearly in debt we love you still in our hearts you hold a place that no one can ever feel it broke our hearts to lose you but you didn't go alone for part of us went with you the day god took you home rest in peace my dear uncle so this morning when i was thinking about it waters came to my eyes not with sadness but with joy because i had a relationship with him and i didn't really know how much i loved him until the tears started to keep coming down and in my kit coming and coming and today i feel like my weakest but god is good it was in 2013 uh my mom died 2012. and 2013 my dad had a stroke and i can't remember if it was a few months after my mum my siblings and i said we're going to look after dad we're going to definitely look after him look at the crafting at home and we're really happy was to do that and i was a little bit reluctant because we just finished caring for our mum and it was a number of years and i felt really fragile emotionally drained tired physically and i i couldn't think i could do it again i thought i was going to go into mortally if i had to i'd go into breakdown and anyway when i was speaking to god it came over that we're going to do this because there's no way my dad are dead we're going to have six children and put him somewhere no way um uh what concerned me was not only that is that my dad was challenging he was great he had his own he's he was a proper man he was a man um a very individual character which i really really respect and love um and when you're a man you're a man um but also i was i'm quite a strong-headed person as well so sometimes we'll be like two bulldogs together we're quite strong individuals um and we can have our say i think you understand what i mean yeah well i'm not rude or anything but we do have our discussions and when we did have our difficulties we always made up apologize and i will say i love you and you know that do you know i love you sorry about what happened because sometimes my god because you know my dad had a bit of a dimension alzheimer's and um after a period of years he got frustrated because i had to had to do my personal care for my dad and you can imagine how that must be for him he took the spirit out of him he took you know he wasn't like that you know he did everything for himself um and so forth and so it was a very difficult time for him to accept his stroke and that did break him down he did feel low very low about who he was as a man and that didn't really help um didn't help his health really because that would he could it could cause him a deterioration and i had to really pump him and do what i could to motivate him but anyway uh we got through it together my dad after he had after he had another stroke in december last year the strokes took his speech and by that time he was before that he was housebound so my dad was fairly active he was a christian gentleman and he preached and he did everything else he did evangelistic work that was his calling and he loved singing and everything we would sing hymns together and lots of spiritual songs and he would enjoy it so much and he would see him crying because he was just so emotionally touched and many times he was like i would wake up in the mornings open the door and he had a lovely smile in his face uh i was so happy to know that he was alive my dad died at 86 years old he had a good you know good years but sometimes he would find him crying and i said to him what's wrong what happened why are you crying he couldn't talk to them very well he said nothing and my dad never said nothing he was very quiet very patient under his affliction he never complained he never gave me a headache we only had a bit of headaches when we come to our routine when if he was my age i don't want people to tell me what to do so um he i said tim what was happening with him i said you fed up and tired of what's happening with you he said yeah we went like that nodded i said you want to leave go he said yeah jamaica that was one thing he wanted to go to jamaica he couldn't go and he said no i said heaven yeah i said daddy you're not ready yet right if you if you go you're gonna have to take me we we're going together you know no no no you know whoa i said no you're not going anywhere without me you know you're not ready yet when god calls you you you'll go but it's not now and i had to motivate my dad and i said look please keep up don't get low if you get low i'm going down please keep up for me keep up and you kept up you kept up um i thank god for that um so the main thing i really want to say is that my dad wasn't perfect but we had a lovely relationship together i grew to understanding more um god had to do a lot within me my dad was the test for me in terms of my characteristics and who i was because i could be quite challenging he showed me how to care tenderly love and knee to my dad who needed that and my dad was a very meek and humble man in the years i know him he never complained if you don't give him dinner he's not going to complain he's not going to complain what he's got if he don't have nothing to he said if you've got something for me i have it that's the way he was very humble man we love him we're going to miss my dad but i'm not going to be grieving like people are grieving because i know my dad's resting in the lord he loved the lord and in my heart this morning when i was crying the tears i was crying tears of joy because of the love i felt for him and it's coming out and that's all i can feel and express and i miss and i wish and i'm glad i didn't see him at the end to be honest i didn't see him at the end god knows i wasn't meant to see him because i know on that day when i heard he died i screamed the house out and i just screamed and screamed and then i composed myself like david and just got on with it but thanks be to god we want to thanks for our dad and god bless him and we see him in the morning bismillah rock molly raheem now vincent oswell jones usually known as steve even shiloh was a special man in classes for this it's all right tony i'm not taking it away um it passed away in king's cross now i was the last person to see him but when i looked at his face it was amazing he was happy so what i'm saying is don't be sad no point in being sad now he was quite a courageous guy he knew what he wanted of course he was born in jamaica and we're all going to miss him and at times it was contagious but we kept pumping into him now those of you here know me already i'm muslim and that's never going to change i kept saying to him that you've got to believe in god there's only one god now he was a good family man he was kind and the dependent man hey yeah now a lot of people say i'm not going to disagree with them that my dad was full of thoughts he was but there was something special for example when i was a soldier i went into the army and i was bullied he said you stand there and you punish them and also i didn't like to talk to him about certain things but know one stage i was mortared you know what more his bombs dropped to you i like to explain to you what happened right from that got ptsd but i'm okay now is that oh it isn't it um what's her name over there wendy hi wendy wendy mclean what it was anyway anyway um on that occasion he told me what to do i did exactly what i did now his work life one of the biggest contracts that he had was in thames mead it's a place in south london not a nice place but it's okay now he painted and decorated so well he done it by the numbers nothing was out of place because that's the way he was to that that led to him getting another contract and the the word spread he became a foreman with sharks in fort and heath they're closed down now but they did really good work and got good contracts now because the quality of his work was amazing he did a couple of things that people don't do today he was responsible for painting crystal palace tower tower bridge london bridge and he did this all without just the ropes you know people hanging up he did it he wasn't scared and that not being scared teaches me something should teach you something like i say don't be sad this was not the sort of man to be said his last words it was amazing he was in kings there was a nurse called michael he was feeding him gotten quite well with him and there was a couple of filipino nurses all very nice doing their jobs proficiently i spoke to him on that day well of course he couldn't speak back so i wondered why i was speaking to myself but i didn't make the mistake i looked into his eyes and when i looked into my dad's eyes i could see the sort of man that i become and why become the what i was i will never never give up my dad will never never give up we'll take it all away no matter where it is i'm proud to be son now they say don't be sad for god defends you and angels our forgiveness for you the believers share with you their supplication in their prayers time has showered me with trouble until the arrows on my heart have formed the cover i'm not going to say much i'll say you know don't don't don't get upset but i think i'll end in saying that i knew him we all knew him in a different way and his presence on earth was good now out of his children i mean christine diligently looked after him for 25 years both parents yeah and david he's done his part deborah stella the food's unbelievable now stella you know to cook right no no i i remember that there was a anyway we won't go into that but her food is lovely well i'm gonna go now so like i said don't be sad and we leave knowing that when he came in fact just one little bit when he first comes to the country we used to live in orlando road in brixton just off josephine avenue horrible or whole and we then moved to 32 broads road in broads road it was the first place that i killed the snake it's a long story too i won't go internet but also the outside toilet which wasn't very pleasant and the routine like i said by the numbers get in your house sit down shut up you dinner and you used to bulk the door the one thing you knew nobody was coming in there also there was a pug called um the star of india it's not there now a man got stabbed to death there that moved me because i couldn't understand why you got scared to live opposite that pub was a a hardware shop we used a hardship or hardware shop to get paraffin the old guy in it was nice there was a woman down the road who was definitely dumb she got on with the family nobody else got on with her don't know where that was and we had harris janet harris and mrs harris who did the copeland road you were very good to us but a husband just racist he really was he's a horrible person and across the road there was a man who had a rover a black rover my dad liked it but that's another story now as we sat in the room we looked up we could see a picture the picture we could see was my dad standing like bossy socks he had many pictures and he always looked good hence as you see right that's it bye the scripture reading is taken from revelations chapter 21 verses 1-7 and i saw a new heaven and a new earth for the new heaven and the new earth were passed away and there was no more sea and i john saw the holy city new jerusalem coming down from god out of heaven prepared as a bride abundant for her son her husband and i heard a great voice out of the heaven saying behold the table canal of god is with men and he will dwell with them and they shall be his people and god himself shall be with them and be their good and god shall wipe away all that is from their eyes and there will there shall be no more death neither sorrow nor crying neither shall there be any more pain for the former things are passed away and he sat and he and he that sat upon the phone said behold i make all things new and he said unto me rightful these words are true and faithful and he said unto me it is done i am the alpha and the omega the beginning and the end i will give unto him that in the first of the fountain of the water of life he that overcometh shall inherit all things and i shall be his god and he shall be my son nicknamed steve was born in was born to edward jones and miriam jackson on the 17th of july 1935 in the town of ashnesh hannover in jamaica he was one of seven children in 1958 at age of 23 he made his trip to england docking at southampton his first address was recorded at 50 and 57 leander road brixton and he worked for the labourer at the age of 26 dad met his 19 year old bride bride-to-be josephine and they were married at lambeth registry office in july 1962. they had christopher the first of their six children and resided in dulwich by then he had become an accomplished painter and decorator vincent's six children recall that it was not always an easy childhood due to living accommodation and money issues although although dad always provided as much as he could for his family but dad was a joker and loved telling funny stories in his to his children grandchildren and great-grandchildren that was also a disciplinarian and kept his children in line with a slap to the behind or will you catching the belt all the infamous words open your hand middle dad would socialize and often when went to the pub and frequently played in domino's tournaments as far as birmingham he would sometimes return home a little drunk bringing a little cheese biscuit and um snowball to share with his children in the 60s he had two major accidents that he was fortunate to survive without serious injury the first was his motorbike was involved in a serious road accident thankfully he was wearing a helmet which he which saved his life but his loss but he lost his two front teeth a couple of years later he spent some time in hospital after being electrocuted at work from a loose cable above him dad often spoke of his siblings his sister lillian who raised the funds for him to come to england but none more than his older sister asia he was always in he was also in england and would look after him settle him and make sure he was okay he would occasionally drive up to northeast london to see auntie azura and his niece and other family members overall dad loved his family and would do anything for them he was kind and generous and would give it give if he had it and would even give the last food on his plate the family moved to a full bedroom flat in denmark hill campbell in june 1978. it was more comfortable than where we've moved from in peckham having a separate bathroom and an inside toilet the family settled quickly that is had dad had his weekly routine on a sunday at about 11 30 he would go to the pub and have a game of dominoes coming back about three o'clock to watch the sunday matinee especially if it was a western he would remind us who appeared to build this place when he when we tried to switch channel ask his complaining about watching yet another western during the week he would go to peckham or kent in bingo afternoon his hard earned money but socializing with his friends on a saturday he went out in the morning making sure to come back by four o'clock to watch his beloved wrestling once again remind us who paid the bills and not to change the channel on the tv then back to bingo for 7 p.m on some saturdays and sundays dad and david will sometimes go to work to snag paint jobs they had been contracted to do on occasion me i i can remember doing the same as a child in brixton helping dad we're standing down and being treated to a bag of chips for lunch he was a hard worker and worked on a lot of building sites such as the crystal palace tower has chris just said and the 10th meet housing project he didn't tolerate anyone messing with his hard-earned wages in the 1970s and 80s he worked as a foreman painter for admit for many companies he respected for being a good negotiator ensuring that his bus got paid for all the work that had been carried out and also make a profit his exceptional ability to record every detail on which every person had done from day to day and also dealing with wages and ordering supplies all done before computers he was in high demand as a foreman and many building sites want him as their foreman during the recession he lost his job he got up every morning and spent hours looking for work he then got a job doing refurbishment work on the wharf road which led to other work indulge and nothing hill he believed in being independent and started up his own business in 1983 and by doing this he was able to help his friends who were out of work by giving them jobs after many years of working as a painter and decorator he trained as a bus driver for london transport he passed first time and was proud to drive the bus excited about how much uniform they issued the wages they paid him and the overtime that was available he often talked about the route master bus which he drove drove while the conductor received the money issued tickets and rang the bell worked on many different bus routes such as the 12 36 3 and 45 as time moved on dad started to work on single man buses as the two man buses became obsolete after a period of ill health sadly dad didn't return to working on the buses and was retired off due to his health despite this he made a fairly good recovery and using his freedom pass he would take bus trips all around london goodness knows where he would take himself to dad loved the bible and he could memorize the psalms he loved the lord and he hired a hall in brixton from 2 till 5 pm on a sunday where he would deliver the message for an hour and he was baptized in the pentecostal church he particularly liked one-to-one ministry and he would listen to people and speak a word of encouragement and offer prayer dad loved good christian hymns and music so much so he taught himself to play the keyboard and guitar and would make up songs on on the guitar and record them onto cassette tape over a period of time he started to lose the use of his left leg and was unable to venture far from home so was unable to socialize as before then in december 2012 his wife of 50 years josephine passed away after a long illness in early 2013 dad suffered his first stroke which left him housebound he refused carers and the taking of medication and in addition was having to deal with the burden of grief for his wife it was a challenging time for all concerned and a dark period for the family and for dad who had totally lost his independence deb found it extremely difficult to adjust to his family providing care which he didn't want and he objected to this had a major impact on him and resulted in some negative outcomes but over a number of years things improved dad had a number of health issues including being diagnosed with alzheimer's and dementia and unfortunately he had another stroke in 2020 which robbed him of his speech that coupled with his memory loss made understanding his needs extremely difficult but despite this dad always had a warm welcoming and cheeky smile whenever you entered his room the nod of his head signaled a signaled approval he loved seeing his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was so grateful for his children and his family dad passed away on the 8th of august 2021 after a short illness he will be greatly missed we will remember his love his strength and his cheeky smile the light in his eyes god to be with you dad till we meet again this time we will be having a slideshow and during the slideshow the deacon deaconess will collect an offering thank you [Music] grace [Music] like me once was lost [Music] was blind but now i see [Music] twas grace my heart to fear and grace my fears [Music] i first [Music] oh [Music] oh [Music] [Applause] [Music] it was [Music] yes [Music] and when we first [Music] me [Applause] [Music] me amen praise the lord really really powerful slideshow and just before we have the song we'll have another tribute by um one of the nieces um samantha so samantha if you could come forward please to give us your tribute and thank you our brother and sisters uh lillian gordon who is now demised and the last time i saw uncle vincent is when my father was here he supported myself and my father through very challenging times and uncle vincent gave me so much support love and guidance when i lost my mother i lost my mind and uncle vincent was always at the end of the phone would come and see me and speak with me all the time we would meet up secretly and then when my father fell ill and was living with me and i became his primary carer uncle vincent would come and see scotty i said you would call him scotty and he would give my dad and myself words of encouragement uncle vincent felt in debt to my father and my mother because he kept on hammering on if it wasn't for scotty and lillian he wouldn't be over here my uncle and my mother used to work together prior to us the children being born at mallard's radio company val and back in them times it was very challenging because they had those signs up no blacks no irish no dogs i remember my mum and uncle vincent telling me when they joined the church when they first came over here again they were ousted at saint andrews presbyterian church in battersea rise because again they were not welcome but one of the things that i'm going to always remember about uncle vincent and just generally the jones their faith in god never withered i would see my uncle sometimes in camberwell doing street preaching trying to get people to come to church uncle vincent was very proud of his children oh my god it would be a competition between my father and uncle vincent's whose children were doing better uncle vincent always came and saw my mother always came down to see my mum if it wasn't with david if it wasn't with stella and other members of the jones family uncle vincent had a firm hand as a disciplinarian with my brothers especially the one they call nigel gordon he's not here today uncle vincent had a contracting firm and nigel and david would work together uncle vincent will come to the house seven o'clock in the morning bang on the door and shout where's that boy where's nigel where's nigel and nudge would have to come out of bed and go to work with uncle vincent and uncle vincent was not messing you understand so one of the things i want to take away first of all i want to thank god for the life of vincent jones i thank god for my grandparents edward jones and marie jackson for creating humble loving children they pride themselves the jones pride themselves on humbleness give togetherness okay very important that everyone takes that away he wants his children and his grandchildren to be humble and support each other he would always tell my father that the last time he came to see my father he also taught me psalms 121 because i was like i said i was going through challenging times and i'm a bit of a warrior so uncle vincent would say to me samantha read psalms 121 the last time he was in my home when he came to see my father so i'm just gonna read psalms 21 it says i will lift up my eyes onto the hills from whence cometh my help my help cometh from the lord which made heaven and earth he will not suffer thy foot to be move he who keep thee will not slumber behold he keep thee shall neither slumber nor sleep the lord is thy keeper the lord is thy shade upon thy right hand the sun shall not smite thee by day nor the moon by night the lord shall preserve thee from all evil he shall preserve thy soul the lord shall preserve thy going and going coming and going forth and even forevermore amen so my final words is i thank god for the life of uncle vincent i thank god for allowing me to spend quality time with him and the last time and always when i speak to uncle vincent christine will verify this my last words to him i love you uncle vincent i always told him that every conversation on the phone i love you uncle vincent and he goes samantha when you're gonna come and see me i love you too thank you hello everyone one two one two christine and the rest of the family what a day that will be hallelujah when jesus we shall see when we look upon his face the one who saves us by his grace as he takes us by the hand and lead us to the promised land what a day glorious day that will be amen praise the lord what a day that will be when or jesus hallelujah we shall see when we look upon his face he is not just any savior he is the one who saves us by his grace take comfort and courage in the lord family may god give you the strength that you need thank you very much brother ian for that powerful rendition and to all of you who the cemetery so i won't be very long i'm with you we have a few things coming up just after i take my seat but condolences again to the family and just to let you know just to remind you that as a church we are praying for you that god will give you the strength that you need god said he will never leave you nor forsake you i'll i'll seek to draw your attention to the book of job your experience is sort of a job type of experience so i'll seek to draw your attention to the book of job chapter 13 verse 15 the book of job chapter 13 but before i go into the text let us pray our love and eternal father who art in heaven forgive us lord where we have sinned and come short of your glory i thank you very much for the family of brother jones lord i pray that your holy spirit's power will be with the family in a very special way at this difficult time give us the grace of jesus christ help us to realize that weeping may endure for a night hallelujah but joy is going to come in the morning help us to know that not every day we'll take our family members the peckham church or to other churches burying our loved ones lord for one day even death itself will die and there'll be joy one day lord when we'll meet our loved ones again help us to realize that if in this life only we have hope we are people most miserable so give us hope in the life to come in jesus name we pray amen and amen so job chapter 13 if you will job chapter 13 verse 15 job 13 verse 15. so job's friends were talking to him and job is answering back he's replying he's giving his speech he's telling his side of the story he's saying to us what he job will do so in verse 15 of chapter 13 job says though he slay me yet hallelujah will i trust him but i will maintain my own ways before him how can you trust god in a difficult time how can you trust god when you have lost in two months not just one family member but two members of the family i remember clearly we were planning to lay our dear beloved sister deborah to rest on the monday and by sunday i received a call sadly saying mr vincent oswald jones sadly passed away and you wonder why lord at least the family is about to lay the daughter to rest at least we could have laid um our dear beloved sister to rest and then afterwards then maybe if it's a timing of the lord then maybe we could say goodbye to mr our brother jones but god timing is not our timing and god ways are not our ways and god looks at the bigger picture and even though we cannot put our finger on why it would happen at that time a day before the 8th of august when we would lay i'm sister deborah to rest the following day the 9th of august and today being the 9th of september we're laying brother jones to rest and i said earlier on that it's a job experience and you might ask me preacher why have you said it's a job experience because job had a similar experience one day job was just minding his own business doing his own thing not caring about anything but doing the will of god the work of god and while job was there then he heard out of the blue as it were job who was job first of all he was a rich man he was a wealthy man i'm from the east i'm the wealthiest richest man from the east as it were god blessed him with 10 children i will not ask for a show of hands of those of you who have got 10 children in here but god blessed job with 10 children and job heard in one day that not one child had died not two of his children not even eight of his children but all ten children passed away in one day imagine what that would be and we thank god that as bad as it is today it could have been a lot worse imagine 10 coffin in the church imagine what would you say to brother job to have 10 coffin where would we fit 10 coffin in in peckham church just imagine that burying all his children on the same day imagine the pain imagine the anguish it's job who later on reflected and what he was going through and job said at least there is hope for a tree even more than for me job he he muttered and uttered he said there's hope for a tree because if you cut the tree down at least by the scent of water hallelujah then that tree might just spring up and will blossom and will bloom and will go and will grow again but man dies and he goes to his long home and job asks the question where is he and job reflected on his own mortality and he questioned and he asked he said while he questioned job said um listen it would be better if i had not been why did i not just close my eyes when i came out of my mother's womb he said the thing that i've feared is come upon me and job is in a predicament and to add insult to injury his wife said job i don't like how your skin is full of sores why job don't you curse god and die family members that's the last thing you want to do your hope should be in god no more than ever before because job said though he slay me though i'm afflicted by him because the word of god the bible declares that all things still works together for the good of those who are the cold according to his own purpose according to his own will so we don't know now why we lose our loved ones at the time when we lose them but job said to his wife you speak like you are one of the foolish women you are not one but you are speaking like them this is a time to trust in god this is a time jones family to have your faith grounded in god this is a time like job to say lord though you slay me yet will i trust him and you ask why job hallelujah would you trust god and job says for in spite of what's happening i know i have the assurance that my redeemer lives and on that day i shall see him for myself and yes worm is destroying my body at this moment but though worm destroy my body yet with mine eyes shall i see god he had the assurance in god and job could say with the apostle paul as the apostle paul reflects in first corinthians chapter 15 the scripture reading which was ably done by one of the granddaughters as the apostle paul reflects and he says i will show you a mystery and that's one of the mysteries i will show you a mystery that we will not all sleep yes brother jones is sleeping now but we will not all sleep and job was reflecting and that i can just imagine we shall not all sleep why brother paul why should we not all sleep he says for this mortal shall put on immortality and i thank god for that you know death will not have the last word this mortal will one day put on immortality and this corrupt body shall be changed by the power of the lord so the word of god declares in first corinthians chapter 15 let's just reflect on it and close time is against us from verse 50 know this i say brethren and sisters that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of god neither does corruption inherit in corruption so in order to be saved in god's kingdom we can't be saved with this old body behold said the apostle paul i show you a mystery we shall not all sleep like brother jones is sleeping now but on the other hand we shall be changed so all of us have to be changed but we shall not all sleep when and how will that happen um paul and the answer in verse 52 is in verse 52 in a moment in the twinkling of an eye at the last trump for the trumpet shall sound and the dead in christ hallelujah shall be raised first from the dead incorruptible so brother jones will not by god's grace be coming back with an old body but god will give him a brand new body no more strokes would be in that body a brand new body he will get from jesus christ himself because the bible declares that we shall see him as he is and we shall be like him a brand new body not a body that will decay and die again even death itself will die and we shall be changed verse 52 for this corruptable must put on incorruptible and this mortal hallelujah must put on immortality so right now we are living as human beings in our mortal stage um state where we live and where we die and we go to corruption as it were but believe me that will not always happen so when this corruption hallelujah shall have put on incorruption and this mortal shall have put on immortality then and not before then then shall it be brought to pass the saying that is written hallelujah death is swallowed up in victory so one day even death itself will die one day death will look around for people to kill and there will be no more people for death to kill and death itself will die and jesus is the one who would put the final nail in the coffin of death as it were death the apostle paul he questioned he asked the question where is your sting from adam from cain and abel and eve from ever since you've been killing people you've been taking people out left right and center in the midst of kovitz 19 you've killed millions around the world but no death hallelujah where is your sting even death will lose its thing but death will only lose its thing for you if you know jesus as your lord and savior if you do not know him i will let you know now everybody hallelujah got to know who jesus is and if you ask me preacher who is he i will tell you he is the lily of the valley he is a bright and morning star he is a fairy stuffed in thousand to my soul and that's why brother jones could preach about him because he knew who jesus is do you know him today or death you are swallowed up in victory or death where is your sting or grave where is your victory and jesus gained the power over 2 000 years ago when jesus himself laid down his life one friday evening and he cried out hallelujah and said it is finished the plan of salvation is accomplished it's finished and they laid him in a rich man's tomb but early one sunday morning i said early one sunday morning up from the grave as gabriel touched down to planet earth there was an earthquake as it were and up from the grave jesus arose as the angel peeped in that tomb and said son of man thy father hallelujah call it thee and with life unborrowed original and underrived life original and borrowed and underrived jesus came out he said i have power to lay down my life and to take it up again he came up from the grave and he jungled two keys in the face of death and he says i am hallelujah the resurrection and the life so the resurrection is not merely an event the resurrection is a person so if you want to be a part of the first resurrection you have to know the man christ jesus you have to know that person so he said i am the resurrection i am the life you cannot have life outside of me you can exist without of me but true life comes from knowing and having a relationship with jesus christ as lord and savior i am the resurrection and the life and he that believe the one who believes in me he she the one who believes in me though they were dead yet hallelujah shall they live again this thing of death is sin and the strength of sin says the apostle paul in verse 56 is the law but thanks be to god thanks be to god which gives us the victory through our lord jesus christ therefore therefore the jones family therefore to every one of you inside here today therefore to those of you who are watching online therefore my beloved brother brothers and sisters therefore my beloved be ye steadfast in spite of losing your sister and your dad never give up be steadfast in god hallelujah for in a little while he that will come shall come and will not tarry weep in endure for a night but joy is gonna come in the morning therefore my beloved be steadfast unmovable don't be moved by this remember god has a better plan for you be unmovable yes i have lost my dad yes i have lost my sister but great peace are they that love thy law and shall offend them hallelujah be steadfast unmovable always abounding in the work of the lord and i thank god because i can see the children keep active working for god in spite of this they are still very active in church always abounding in the work of the lord why for as much as you know that your labor is not in vain in jesus christ amen you will be rewarded one day by the grace of god i'll leave this song with you as i close not that i'm gonna be singing it i'll read the words for you the song says the golden morning is fast approaching and jesus soon will come to take his faithful hallelujah and happy children to their promised home are we seeing the glimpse of the golden morning can you see through the mids of coving and kovid and vaccine and all different things vaccine passport and money going up on your ni and different things and people are discouraged but always see in the glimpse in spite of what's happening on earth or we see in the glimpse of the golden morning piercing hallelujah through this night of gloom oh we've seen the glimpse of the golden morning that will birth the tomb the way we lay our beloved brother to rest the tomb will be broken one day the tomb will have to give up the dead one day this gospel sermon that brother jones was preaching in camberwell and other places this gospel sermon will soon be carried to the nation round the bridegroom then will cease to tarry and the trumpet sound attended hallelujah attended by all the shining angels imagine the best firework you have ever seen will be no comparison attended by all the shining angels down a flaming sky and i tell you for now for free that jesus will be there the father will be there the holy spirit will be there the entire angelic host will be there there will be silence in heaven for half an hour for the king is coming the king hallelujah is coming he's coming back from me and he's coming back for your attended by all those shining angels the judge will come and will take his people where they will not die the loved the loved of earth who have long been parted or short been parted but the loved of earth who have been parted will meet hallelujah that glad day take courage my brothers and sisters take courage my friends meet in that glad day the tears cry now if you have to the tears of those who are broken-hearted will be wiped away one day jesus said there'll be no more tears no more pain no more crying for the former things are passed away and behold i make all things new may god bless and keep us in a very special way god bless you amen we'll now move straight into the prayer for the family we'll be praying for the family at this time so the rest of the church could remain seated please and family members if you could be kind enough to stand where you are please i'll be praying an empty chair in the house his chair will be vacant lord at special times the family will feel it keenly lord to know that that is not here granddad is not here uncle is not here whatever the with you when you go through the fire i will be with you you said i will never leave you nor forsake you to help the family to know that you are there to give them comfort and assurance lord and help
