LIVE mudlark on The Thames with Si-finds

as a surprise it is to you as it is to me down here on the temp foreshore um basically I'm meeting up with cuffs and we're doing a little bit of mud lcking here in Greenwich and uh I thought I'd just surprise you with a little live and hopefully you can hear me and see me all right the reception isn't great but hopefully it's better than it was uh last time so if anyone's there give us a little shout say hello um yeah hope you're having a fantastic what day we on now Sunday uh I've got a bit of a cold unfortunately so it's why I sound a little bit rough uh but yeah it's uh it's a nice day it's uh I don't know 15° that's quite warm and uh yeah it's going to be a little impromptu you my L I think I owe you one because the last live was a bit dismal no thought of Our Own It was purely because um the reception hello MOA GL to see you um yeah the last live I did the reception was terrible but we don't know that obviously until it gets broadcast how shy it was so this is a little let's make up for that waiting for cuffs to come down here um you can see in the background there you've got uh grenage you got cuty sck hello Lynn so uh yeah just just me and the pigeons and a few people staring at me all around thinking what are you doing down there so it's quite a good little bit of fores sure of not found a great deal here in the past so I'm not expecting very much but um it's quite cool um so yeah let's get the trails out and have a little look shall we um what you all up to today in England it's a bank holiday so this is technically a Saturday cuz we got tomorrow up as well um I'm try and hold it a bit steadier for you it's hard to hold it out at H's reach so look down here we've got loads of interesting Maritime history we'll have a little scrape and uh see what we got again excuse the voice I played football a couple of weeks ago and I got leathered by the football in my throat and it hurt um shout out to Adam if you're watching thanks for that mate I was in goal i l to get my stimp in goal out the way first because everyone has to go in goal right and yeah that that that I think that formed into a bit of a cold so that's why I'm sounding a little bit croaky check out the size of that ocean liner this humongous absolutely whing uh so yeah this is quite an industrial sort of spot that I'm in here oh I've got a little um little scraper that I can use again not expecting to find a great deal but we're waiting for cuffs his Train's a bit knackered so uh he's going to be a little bit later so I've got sort of 10 10 minutes oh we got our first find let me flip the camera around for you so here we go it's like a bit jewelry don't worry Linda you're not late because this wasn't even planned earring right oh wonder if it's silver there we go yeah probably junk probably not going to keep it oh don't know if it's silver oh we'll stick it in the pouch anyway and I'll check it later for Hallmarks but there we go first find is a modern earring yeah not bad hopefully it won't rain today but this is my little tool that I use for for scraping about and um you can even use that or a trail we've got um detectors today so when cuffs comes down here a bit later on probably going to leave you and do some detecting with him because it's hard to film and detect at the same time as many detectorists know um yeah hope you all having a great day oh Alan's 9-year-old found a gold ring wow did you see the one where I found a few weeks ago that was absolutely gorgeous so yeah I've not really been to this uh area very often but it just seemed like quite a cool place to come ni to make a bit of a change uh and we going cruising after I tell you what it would be quite cool to go that thing wouldn't it it's called Viking if you can see the name of it out there um hello hello Greg oh Gary sorry Trinidad wow what time is it in Trinidad the time is about4 4 4ish something like that but yeah we'll take you down here because there's a little spot that might be okay I'd little wander around here earlier and there's lots of bolts check check all these bolts out it's incredible look at all these all from ship building days there might be stuff in between it you never know uh bits of a old brass see this sort of things are good for up cycling make the make the piece you're making more authentic good old Nails the old ship's Nails uh oh there's a bit of printer type I think oh is it not it's a bit of lead but yeah sometimes it's better to get down a few inches from oh a big big screw head bit of lead there oh that's nice that looks like it might be something same witha is done day yeah I'm not surprised it's actually it's really sunny and beautiful earlier and the clouds have come over I think it's going to be be rain today or tomorrow I'm out digging tomorrow with Tim as well so got busy our weekend done my up cycling earlier for the video next Sunday bits of lead around here Noto terrible what's that a little bit of yeah I don't know what that is lot say look nice bits of brass so I know you're in a good spot when you got a mixture of metals that's metals probably from a plug yeah like I said if you haven't caught the earlier thing the last live was a bit harsh due to the fact that there wasn't a lot of reception so feel like I owe you one even though it was a really good video the result of the um stream wasn't great so apologies for that but we didn't know until it had all been um it had all been broadcast it wasn't great but we had a good day we found some nice Roman coins F got a fly in my face yeah this is the time of year for midges so you never know what you're going to find good thing about this area is um detector can't go over it because this is so much iron as you can see look at all those bolts it just goes on and on and on quite cool though oh big lump of uh big lump of uh lead maybe just scrap lead oh well if it's not anything that goes into the scrap bucket I think I've got about the last can I have 30 kilos of lead but there's nice bits of brass objects to be to be found hello mad kiwi how's uh how's life down under more lead that looks like you never know what you're going to find little be around that corner that was vaguely interesting hello Kathy hello West country mudlarks how are we all doing having an enjoyable bank holiday weekend I hope hope you won't have to stop to blow me nose I think this is quite a well trodden area has in quite a few mud LS come down the access is quite easy loads more metal work around here worth a little little s to see what you can find more lead something's been wrapped up don't that is nice to find a Coin or something while I'm here these old bits of chalk here was when they made barge beds so very often uh things can be found around here cuz the boats we're resting up just use your old eyeballs if you see anything give us a shout and I we'll be able to double check get that brick out the way some might have hooked up in here or not think about when you edit a video obviously I'm just doing the V bits so I'm taking out hours and hours of fruitless uh searching I'm just showing you the best bits nice bit of brass brass nail sorry bolt it's old file from the days when they used to make stuff I'm for sure oh I got the Clippers there going past coing awake yeah Nick's good she's got she's got a video coming out today with me and her in it so go and check out that video um yeah they've stopped giving out permits uh to the masses now because there was just too many people coming down there and I think they were worried from a safety point of view cuz it was getting very busy and lots of uh lots of dangers present themselves down here if you're not careful just got a message from CS he's on his way this is quite good this what I what I like to look at is these metal bits where it's on the back wall long as you don't get cut off by the water oh that was close that's those Clippers making that wake anyhoo a little scrape around here looks like gold only little bit of gold see that might be gold very thin bit if it is doesn't look good I know Eric it's gone a bit uh it's funny you're in the middle of London but the signal is still pretty pretty Naf but uh hopefully I'm back now and you can hear me again we'll have a little look down here can you see me now guys I've lost like 100 of you now close was so poor I think you'd rather have a better bit of reception than uh bit of CLE pipe how to go down the thore well I try and go down there as much as I can depends on the tides uh the tide isn't great today but it's quite uh a good time for it Low's about half six today I can't believe how much fores sure was actually exposed a good 3 and 1/ half hours before feel like lead oh these these bracelets now I just um just pick them up want to go on holiday places just buy them off the locals you know I like orange so that's my colors so obviously I'll buy one when I see an orange one from time to time cuz I can't wear any metal because when detected it just goes off all the time so I don't that's why I don't really wear rings but anything I do wear Jewelry Wise usually around my neck so Wendy makes things for me and um yeah wear around my neck so I think this area has picked over quite a lot everyone's gone now that was rammed them in hereo interesting dude over there like a Jack Sparrow type character well I'm going to head back over that way because [Music] don't leave me bag there for too long thank you purple cat dragon interesting name they had very uh stylish parents when they chist you that yeah you got some uh definitely got some Neolithic down here I could start looking for that but it's it's it's funny how you you got to sort of train your train your eyes into certain things I'm married to the for sure wa none of these kids got permit sa um no garlets down here I've never found G in greenage um certain spots from look at what that is was nice skate at first just t back at the big old anchor oh helloha from Maui I've been there nice bit pot Rel don't take what you don't need although I could use it in an Up Cycle or something I suppose right going back to the dreaded spot where there's no reception so I'll keep an eye on it and see if uh see if I lose you find some gold I think I might found some gold it's only a tiny little fragment it's like a handlebar a very old bik should we just creep up on this duck hello he's like yeah get off be careful because it's so slippery hope it won't pull over oh give me bucket still there I wonder if I could run past that bit and go on the other side oh I really want to look at that little bit down there right jump don't slip there we go Viking Sky uh yeah Lexi we are making plans to go up to Scotland again um yeah going to be doing more diving I think more sniping right hopefully this will be right in terms of reception do I push me luck keep going can kept a permit to mudlock well they used to be able to but not anymore cuz they they've suspended given out permits oh look there we go that oh no it's a stone s it like a little token there for a second more lead oh thank you very much for the uh fighting chance so I really want to go against the back wall look mud loock used to be a lot e easier as in we used to get a lot more um fines with less effort now we have to go two or three trips to get the same amount of fines we used to get in one day which is good in a way because you get to go out more but at the same time the finds are thinning out a little bit but that's what you'd expect sometimes on these changes padlocks e well I don't know if the sound's back or not I can't hear your accent it's on now okay you can see it but you can't hear me I don't think oh you can hear me good I think I tried to call cuffs tried to give me a call and uh I answered it thinking by mirle it' actually work but he didn't right well I might love you and leave you if I find more gold I'll film it and let you know although the reception seems to be better now so that's cool this is a nice little spot I might have to come back here and have another little go another sounds really good down and day [Applause] here sand and Signal seem fine now oh good I think there's a bit of delay in what you say and what I what I read as well so all that is co no it's not it's a thing a bolt there's about a million bolts down here they always they always tease you to be honest you don't really need the sound well hopefully by the endend of the day I'll have something good to show you I might put it on my Community page if if I find anything today just to show you I normally come down here for about 3 or 4 hours sometimes longer so obviously the videos are compressed into like half an hour all the good finds in the research and stuff so it's unlikely to find something amazing on the live but you never never know already had a bit of jewelry a button a bit of gold and obviously the olds uh the old stuff from left over from the maritime history of this place are we hearing your tamam oh CS is here I can see him if if I can wait through him hello he's just walking down with his bucket there
