Amazing Victorian BLING found Mudlarking in London

what do you think I found oh nice sorry it's like mixture of algae and weed cuffs have just spotted a little black bag down there looking very ominous it could be a bag of jewels no there is something in there well I just couldn't bloodly resist knowing me so uh I was brave enough and I opened the bag and we thought it might be poop because it looks like a doggy bag and we thought well that's going to be that it's not even weirder oh that's nice man that's awesome oh wow strike straight hat check hat check all right my lovers how you doing I'm with cuffs morning and we're down on the creek which means we're going to find some beautiful Victorian Treasures lost years and years ago hopefully we'll get lots of luck in the muck what drinking your fine today Mike oh you always been chance of a few vings down here so yeah last time we came I think had the silver ring another one of them would be nice yeah we did find a lot of bling last time if I remember correctly if you haven't seen that video oh oh it's an one oh Mar buff Amber one I think nice coming over that's sweet yeah I'm not sure if it's an Amber one it looks a bit lighter give it a wash yeah come on give me a wash there we go oh this as well hand one oh beautiful that's nice turn the sentury maybe it's got be in it that's lovely yeah look at the top because it's uh you can tell Sun little lines where it's uh where the top is screwed on but that's that would have been sort of sealed by another purpose so I think that's yeah nice little fine looks beautiful in the sun is it [Music] yeah oh big old flagging that have been cool if it was complete yeah so uh cuffs is uh Keen to do the eyes only competition again it's bit mud before it's a bit muddy today but we're going to walk from about I don't know it's only about 30 foot of uh the only bit of for sh that's visible everything else is gloopy so we're going to see if we can find anything just by eye so battle commence let's go marbles got s back a bit give ourselves a plenty of a a nice Runway what counts as a fine uh cuz I found uh we normally take anything we normally take okay A bit of a teapot L defin think that counts what's that top of a bottle oh come on mud lovers help me win what's that oh oh I found a lens from a something or rather oh marble yay a Time those is nicer got a greeny one I think they're about the same are they thanks guys uh I felt your Vibes then oh that's weird I we talking about in the other day if it is it might be top of a milk bottle milk botle Co C oh it's not one of them things since on as ashes is it no you wouldn't make you wouldn't have it embossed like that I think it's um on first thoughts it could be a top of a top of some kind of container yeah you know in maybe a foil well I thought this odd disc was a bisquare lid to an old milk bowl just like this but having done some research it probably comes from the Cosmetic Company cot and dates to the early part of the 20th century and the company is still going strong today okay own up who was shouting at the screen that they knew the answer can a find yeah that does wait hold on you've gone you've G you've gone in my path and stood on all my potential fines that's like a clay pipe stem potentially well that's the end that's the end the end of the line the little ceramic thing right what you got Parton a it's all Parton pick it up what's it oh it's just top of a bottle I've got one marble uh that ceramic thing oh yeah okay well that's it should just call it a tire pretty much it yeah okay that could be a monocle for Nelly oh yeah what a monocle do you Nelly there we go it was every for second but now we got a detect we find some really really good stuff mud liking Crow just over there look yeah find the gold ring for us he's looking under the stones St stay my [Music] a straight in with the te trainer nice so many of them down here yeah good old uh Victorian Tea trainer is that is in the handle yeah it's a half a tea strainer he nice though do like the decoration on these they're pretty cool looks almost pter but that's just the uh well whatever was running down this River turns pretty much anything brass into that strange puy color it does it's mad that we've missed his stuff before cuz it's quite a big object is it and just got to show you like areas never really done um you can still detect big old lumps like that sweet now will be honest with you I did actually detect this but um you can actually see it visibly without having to dig come take a look and see if you can spot it so uh yeah put my detector over here felt something make a noise and uh saw it straight away I'm sure you can see it too it's this rock no joking it's this nice old lighter from the I don't know 20s or 30s it's quite cool might have had had an initial there look little area left to personalize it oh would it be cool to restore that I know some people can restore these I think they might be still some of it missing I think there might have been a top to this but might be might be restorable not saying I'm going to restore it but I'll give it a clean up at least make it look presentable and maybe compare it to ones that are actually complete but I like that could even be silver but I doubt it lighter oh nice anything on the bottom just a little screw where you undid it and put your put fuel in yeah like that that's what I thought yeah as you can tell from this mint example that I found online my lighter is missing quite a lot of the gubbins on the top as much as I like to restore it by the time that I Source the spare parts it's just not worth it plus I can't unseize the screw at the bottom but it shall burn one last time I'm going to drill out the nozzle to make way for a new Wick then painstakingly add some vegetable oil then add my new wig and even without its Striker it can glow once more the old girl just needs a little helping hand that mad oh my God just notic that know that's made me want to put me gloves on now uh what you put there for no oh so you DET take that give it launch it into the other side yeah get off first yeah look uh so-called safety razor or is it a safety razor or just a razor razor plop I'm just about to get my detector back on the mud and I spotted can you see that there if I put my finger on it on the shadow where are you there we go that little marble there two now two marbles to me cuffs you got two in you yeah that two marbles each Mar yeah two marbles each so I've just had this up could be a ring could be a nice little ring uh I don't know it's uh it looks gold but I'm pretty sure it's brass it's quite light uh it could be a little poor man's ring don't know anyway I like them that's pretty cool anyway could be off a curtain could be off a could be an actual ring see if there's any uh Hall marks on there very much D it but still pretty cool what you got cuffs sways oh nice it's always been good down here for military buttons and that's beautiful I mean that's not military but those sort of buttons yeah yeah it's perfect good condition as well yeah you get a nice collection of buttons down here that's for sure wir only button nice little bone button well I have Dugout a little signal just down here interesting little thing prob just a little button still quite cool though I thought I had some writing on but it doesn't what you got decorative thing yeah mount that's what anything tell you find decorated thing don't know what it is we just call it a mount they call it a mount [Music] exactly well I found a few uh toy cars in my time but um none quite as roached as this one it actually came off of its base it's so mullered uh the only way I could identify it was it has the name on here Ferrari by Corgi 3 48 made in China I don't think it's particularly old could be from the 70s or ' 80s I imagine but yeah even this is too far gone for me I think that doesn't look like Ferrari anymore it's like a Sierra anyway it's so mull I think I'll uh Bin that one unfortunately even the best restorer would struggle with that maybe I could sell it for parts well as usual I'm detecting getting the signal turning that over and seeing what found rather than go for every find um of every signal I'm just showing you the best bits but I think this was what I've just detected just another piece of scrap we get so many of these just nondescript pieces of metal obviously not going to show you all that but I think as I was digging this out this popped up and I haven't touched it yet and it feels to me like it's a clay pipe oh nice look at that time I put this video out but we can to go down and do some ghost hunting at some point so that'd be quite fun got the Spade anyway uh found this it's like a cool little compact or mirror or picture frame maybe maybe something you keep in your in your purse of a Lov one it's got slightly beveled edges there if you can see that and uh I think it's a little picture frame could be a mirror either way it's uh it's pass its best would be cool if I dried it out and then the face appeared wouldn't it is that well my lovers remember this uh beautiful picture frame from the creek look at this can you see a face well that's because I put it there sorry played a little prank on you there um there was nothing behind it when I took it apart but I decided to put in an old photo from a 1920s newspaper [Music] what you got mate roach might have been a cameo some point so look that I thought it was silver for a second that's nice yeah it's all right yeah I right was would have had a cameo in there or a nice Stone we might be able to upcycle that give it to Wendy she can put something in there eh beautiful down there here a signal I feel like I on Oak Island you know when they going through those M swamps he's like TR down that same horrible gray mud yeah it's just part luck whether you get the signal out yeah so see in the hole ready uh where where thought I miss it oh what is old spoon that we b a little bucket with us so we can wash our finds nice got nice little windsh that reckon there's more to be found here we found a lot of these uh little uh what we think a toothpaste tops but this could be something a bit different uh it's got the name on there Davis and Co or park park Davis maybe oh well see if what that is maybe it's a lubricant or could be toothpaste I know ni name on it though do research when I first heard what this tube once contained it made me squirm in my seat and made me think about wearing gloves more often especially in that Creek but then I realized gloves are for nerds and got right back on track I'm joking because this tube made by American company Park Davidson Co once contained an Alit cream now I thought it might have been a cure for the case of the Old Farm Ailes that's piles in cockn iring slang but it is in fact a pain reliever that's not to say that you can't slap it on where the sun don't shine ah sweet relief what will we find next I [Music] wonder so we're detected in this uh literally Quagmire and somehow managed to pick out a nice little thimble there look that's lovely can't really see it very well cuz of the mud it's in great condition though let's walk over to me bucket and give it a quick clean added sound effects for your pleasure there we go look beautiful don't say anything but I really want to beat cuffs today on the amount of spoons we found I'm thinking does size matter when it comes to Spoons cuz I found three two or three big ones now and a little one so three in total I think he's found two he always beats me on spoons but not today not if I've got anything to say about it I've just found a little spoon down here come and have a look oh luck in the mark like a spoon of uh gloop with your finds almost got a hold dinner set now oh first coin I've had up in a while looks nice and silver doesn't it but it's only a 10p early one though 1968 cool design lion wear in the crown M made that into a uh key ring anybody born in 1968 give us a holla check out the Etsy store I'll see if I can bang it up there pretty cool cute little Buckle turn it over it still got this little catch that works there that's nice does make you wonder who the people were that dropped a lot of this stuff and now it ended up here well just uh this kind a whopping good signal and uh give a little Swish and pretty sure it's a clock an old clock in the creek that's gone down the drain why is someone washing their clock well I wash my clock Mike don't you yeah this is uh pretty cool find I think I'll give it a uh give it a spruce up maybe it might be quite interesting might be a Makers Mark on there yeah to see not sure what I do with it once it's all clean but it' be nice to see if you know all the brass comes out and Pops don't know we'll have a good little go clean that up I think yeah time to clean the clock Mike yeah me too with just trying to get the signal out isn't it once there right cake in mway yeah St but while you're there I did find the reverse of that clock so yeah I got pretty much all of it I'm not sure if there's a maker Mark in there or not big F got to give it a little clean oh maybe there is um yeah I found that and another part of it I think which is that yeah maybe your clock's bigger than mine I haven't seen your clock yet might where is it I don't know I haven't found it been look for a while keep looking mate you'll find it Well there we go my lovers I think we'll call that a day we'll go up and see what we found have a little round up and uh see who's got the most amount of spoons but I think it might be Mike so there we go lost that one again well look at all that beautiful treasure I'm going to wash a bit off and uh see what we found it is though you can just about see when I pulled it up because just about see the bust of George the 5th the thinnest one you've ever found I mean pennies pennies are a couple of millimeters thick is they soide so just about if you ain't looking right like you can oh that is that is proper thin yeah you can just about see him there it's in fact I don't think it's going to work pick up on camera but just make top of his head out but SC says the thinnest Penny he's ever found well it might be raining soon so we're going to quickly show you what we found save me a job at Wash Me friends yeah that's true uh so here we go go through my bits and Bobs first I found four spoons but I think cuffs beat me he got four and a half spoons that's a complete one spon a little baby spoon but I got two big spoons these can't double no they no four four to me five to cuffs so what I M you you on the spoon race today there's no egg just the spoon race um three marbles to CS four marbles yeah one two somewhere in there Quagmire of uh he hasn't see mine are nicely presented but um cuff just throws it all in the good stuff's nice good he got some good stuff it's nice cuffing which you didn't say come up oh nice that's a be isn't it still with the link there as well that is nice that is nice 20s I believe believe that and your little um Maritime Naval button yeah again I love finding these they're just so cool love to my find of the day though I think is the B cuz it's an Amber one yeah you don't get that many Amber ones yeah normally they're sort of a dark brown and it's a miniature one or so very is it a half 1 o think it's early it doesn't say 1 o liit I think a VI that's a nice one yeah well my favorite finds are either this nice old cigarette lighter it's really cool I'm not not sure if I'll be able to get it to work but I I'll give it a go there's probably um I think there's tutorials on YouTube of people doing this sort of thing so I might have to have a look at that and see if it's restorable um this is a wonderful little thing it's big old pressed brass thingy bob I'm not sure where it's from it's got a little hinge there so maybe it was something flapped open maybe um really cool old lipsticks and lots of other bits and Bobs which uh I could do something with hopefully in the form of some art nice tea strainer love me uh me Old Clay pipe there from 1750 unusual for the creek picture frames yeah what a what a gorgeous selection oh yeah and this as well my um my little thimble which um you can still use it today ah this is I think this is the best find of the day at that spooky head oh oh man that's really cool yeah that's right Le we got it upside down and it's uh some sort of goat but looks like a spooky head so there we go right we're going to go for it rains yeah this is the clock that I found in the creek cleaned up quite a lot but I couldn't find any makers marks um so this is going to go in my upcycling bucket for when I decide to make the maybe some kind of I don't know compact pitch frame I'm not sure if you know what you think this is from comment below but I think it will make a beautiful piece as a flower so I've got this piece and I've got a base here which is might be a light filament Light Element or something like that got some old Springs so we're going to add that in there put some weights in there to weigh it down the flower at the top really cool really steampunk and I'll add some other spoons as petals and things like that so let's get going the Catalyst for today's up S Co yes it's taken me years to realize that I put the Sigh into Up Cycle was this lovely ship's light shade found on a recent mudventure don't forget to check that out if you can it's got some wonderful history I imagine and I want to use it to hold something that I made and also make a base from T's Driftwood that will contain my Creek creation this wood turns beautifully but also presents its challenges as the wood is very old likes to split and is a bit unstable but I finally got there part this has rotten here so I have to make it a little bit smaller [Music] [Music] well that's looking great nice and smooth bit of wax and that look great ni and oldie weldy you got a few natural cracks and things it's been floating around the Ts for so many years got away with that little bit of roughness there H add some beautiful character to it and obviously it now fits that and I finished it off with some really nice wax showing off the beautiful grain and the little imperfections which I love I'm so happy with this beautiful grain there really looking fine some people previously thought that this was an oak wood so uh any suggestions what you think this might be maybe it's Cherry actually that's quite Cherry I don't know or maybe mahogany could be Oak but it seems a bit dark for that Oak seems to be more a Lightwood so any suggestions could have come from anywhere in the world considering it's found on the 10 because we obviously imported wood from all over to help make ships and the wars and buildings cracking look at that and I love that little bit of imperfection just like all of us we all got a little imperfection or two I attempted to polish the glass as well because there was some strange round marks which I guess might have been binless but who knows but after hours of polishing with various compounds which did slightly work it just got the better of me and I finished it off with some clear up [Music] almost [Music] [Music] sh [Music] I'd like to introduce you mud lovers to thimbelina she's the world's first brass thimble snail and she likes to explore mudlock and finds left lying around in the Gard Garden her favorite ride is the penny go round but sometimes it goes round and
