[Music] from [Music] jesus the image of the invisible god definitely confirmed [Music] a kingdom once concealed [Music] am [Music] is [Music] to a clear and in all [Music] is [Music] the only song my soul can find to see is hallelujah hallelujah [Music] hallelujah my king hallelujah [Music] in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit amen the lord be with you i welcome you to the celebration of the eucharist in another beautiful chapel on the island of malta this time we're on the south of the island in kalkara now the reason why i chose to celebrate mass in this chapel is because of the significance it has to the time we're living in at the moment this is a cemetery chapel this is a burial site but it's a burial site for those who have died in a previous pandemic in 1837 cholera spread on this island and they the people who were infected were isolated in this fort and they died there there are people who suffered like we are suffering 855 people died malta has just hit its 500 death on the island through this pandemic and so i thought it would be nice to pray to pray for the world to pray for those who are suffering who are dying through this coveted pandemic i cannot imagine the amount of suffering there has been through this but we can pray for the intercession of the 855 people who are buried right here pray that they will intercede to god the father for us for the an end to this pandemic on behalf of frg ministry i thank you for praying with us and i'm going to offer this mass for you but particularly for those who have suffered the death of a loved one through this pandemic in fact today is supposed to be a green investment but i'm wearing white because i'm going to offer this mass for those who have died so as we begin this time of but there's the ocean crashing against the walls pretty much of this little chapel stunning unbelievable god is so good his nature his presence his love his pursuit of us let us call to mind our sins lord you are a god of mercy who takes away all of our sins lord have mercy you ask us to reach out to those who are suffering and lost christ have mercy and you give us life in abundance as we trust in you lord have mercy and may almighty god have mercy on us forgive us our sins and bring us to everlasting life glory to god in the highest and on earth peace to people of good will we praise you we bless you we adore you we glorify you we give you thanks for your great glory lord god heavenly king o god almighty father lord jesus christ only begotten son lord god lamb of god son of the father you take away the sins of the world have mercy on us you take away the sins of the world receive our prayer you are seated at the right hand of the father have mercy on us for you alone are the holy one you alone are the lord you alone are the most high jesus christ with the holy spirit in the glory of god the father amen let us pray almighty ever living god direct our actions according to your good that in the name of your beloved son we may abound in good works through our lord jesus christ your son who lives and reigns with you in unity of the holy spirit one god forever and ever amen by reading from the book of nehemiah all the people listened attentively to the book of the law ezra the priests brought the law before the assembly consisting of men women and children old old enough to understand this was the first day of the seventh month on the square before the watergate in the presence of the men and women and children old enough to understand he read from the book from early morning till noon all the people listen attentively to the book of the lord as ra the scribe stood on a wooden dice erected for the purpose in full view of all the people since he stood higher than all the people ezra opened the book and when he opened it all the people stood up then ezra blessed the lord the great god and all the people raised their hands and answered amen amen then they bowed down and face to face to the ground prostrated before the law of god translating and giving the sense so that the people understood what was real then miheimia is excellency and ezra priest and scribe and the levites who were instructing the people said to all the people this day is secret to the lord your god do not be mournful do not be for the people for all empires as they listen to the words of the law then he said go eat fat drink the sweet wine and send a portion to the man who has nothing prepared ready for this day is secret to our lord to not be sad its joy of the lord is your stronghold the word of the lord thanks be to god our response shall be your words lord our spirit and life your words lord are spirit and life the law of the lord is perfect it revives the soul the rule of the lord is to be trusted it gives wisdom to the simple your worst lord the precepts of the lord are right they gladden the heart the command of the lord is clear it gives light to the eyes your words lord our spirit and life the fear of the lord is holy abiding forever the decree of the lord our truth and all of them are just your words our spirits the spoken words of my mouth the thoughts of my heart be in favor in your sight oh lord my rescuer my rock a reading from the first letter of corinthians you together are christ's body but each a different part of it just as a human body though it is made up of many paths is a single unit because all these paths though many make one body so it is with christ in the one spirit we are all baptized jews as well as greeks slaves as well as citizens and one spirit was given to us all to drink nor is the body to be identified with any one of its many paths if the foot were to say i am not a hand and so i do not belong to the body would that mean that it stopped being a part of the body if the year was to say i am not an eye and so i do not belong to the body would that mean that it is not part of the body if your whole body was just one eye how would you hear anything if it was just one ear how would you smell anything instead of that god put all the separate paths into one body on purpose if all the paths were the same how could it be a body as it is the paths are many but the body is one the eye cannot say to the hand i do not need you nor can the head say to the feet i do not need you what is mole it is precisely the parts of which the body that seem to be the weakest which are the indispensable ones and it is the least honorable parts of the body that we clothed with the greatest care so our more improper paths get decorated in a way that our more proper paths do not need god has arranged the body so that more dignity is given to the paths which are without it and that there are and that there may not be disagreements inside the body but that each part may be equally concerned for all the others if one part is hurt all parts are hurt with it if one part is given special honor all parts enjoy it now you together are christ body but each one of you is a different part of it in the church god has given the first place to apostles the second to prophets the third to teachers after them miracles and after them the gifts of healing help us good leaders those with many languages are all of them apostles or all of them prophets or all of them teachers do they all have the gifts of miracles or all have the gifts of healing do all speak strange languages and all interpret them the word of the lord thanks be to god [Music] the lord sent me to bring good news to the poor and freed him to the prisoners [Music] the lord be with you a reading from the holy gospel according to luke seeing that many others have undertaken to draw up accounts of the events that have taken place among us exactly as these were handed down to us by those from whom were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word i in my turn after carefully going over the whole story from the beginning have decided to write down an ordered account for you theophilus so that your excellency may learn how well-founded the teachings that you have received jesus with the power of the spirit in him returned to galilee and his reputation spread throughout the countryside he taught in the synagogues and everyone praised him he came to nazareth where he had been brought up and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day as he usually did he stood up to read and then they handed him a scroll of the prophet isaiah unrolling the scroll he found the place where it is written the spirit of the lord has been given to me for he has anointed me he has sent me to bring the good news to the poor to proclaim liberty to captives and to bind to the blind news site to set the downtrodden free to proclaim the lord's year of favor he then rolled up the scroll gave it back to the assistant and sat down and all eyes in the synagogue were fixed on him then he began to speak to them this text is being fulfilled even as you listen the gospel of the lord the lord has anointed jesus the lord also has anointed you you are anointed what does it mean that jesus was anointed what does it mean that you are anointed to be anointed means to be consecrated to be set apart to be given a mission and the power to fulfill that mission through your baptism and confirmation you were given a mission to be a witness of jesus to be a christian in this world but sometimes we don't feel we have that authority we feel like hypocrites we don't feel good enough we don't feel strong enough but you see these are just feelings the fact is that god has called you to be a saint god has called you to be a witness he has called you to be an evangelist to tell the world about his love but why are we so quiet you see god has given us a beautiful dignity and has given us a beautiful purpose in our lives to bring joy to others and i do this as well with my life i try i use social media i use the liturgies and and create resources and and i i do a lot of good and i recognize that i do that giving all glory to god and a lot of people receive from this but sometimes you know someone writes a bad comment on facebook or someone puts a a youtube video against me and you know even though there are a thousand good comments what does my brain go to my brain dwell on my brain tends to dwell on the negative that one negative comment out of a thousand good ones and i start to feel disappointed i start to feel discouraged now this is a human reality we all go through this we're given praise and we're encouraged and then one bad thing happens and all we can focus on is that bad thing but the question is you see your anointing doesn't change when people criticize you your purpose doesn't change when people don't think well of you they thought badly of jesus they criticized jesus but what voice are you listening to are you listening to the word of god spoken to you today that the spirit of the lord is upon you that he has anointed you to bring the good news to the poor to set the captives free are you listening to that voice or are you listening to people who say that you're not good enough or even maybe not people on the outside but maybe here you see this this this thing here your brain starts to tell you and make you feel that you're not good enough the inner voice that says ah you're such a hypocrite you you're not good enough what are you doing you don't have the power to do this but the thing is you do have the power to do this because god's spirit is upon you you have the power to change lives you have to the power to be a witness you have the power to bring your household to jesus but you need to listen to the word of god and you need to listen to the still small voice of jesus in a life a time of prayer daily prayer because there are a lot of voices there are a lot of noises coming from the outside but are you listening to those voices or are you listening to the voice of god you know jesus himself also needed to hear the voice of the father he also needed the encouragement think about the time when he was baptized by john the baptist he was there and the spirit came and descended upon him like a dove a great affirmation i would think imagine you see a dove and you think whoa this is a really good affirmation and not only that the voice of the father come this is my beloved son in whom i am well pleased you see jesus too needed i believe to hear the encouragement of the father so much more do we need to hear that voice so spend some time meditating thinking contemplating on today's gospel if you can grab your bible read luke at the beginning of luke and and read that gospel read the the scripture verse where jesus is telling you that the spirit of the lord is upon you not only jesus but you also listen to the voice of god telling you that he loves you listen to the voice that god is telling you that you have a purpose a great purpose to be a beautiful witness god loves you but he not only loves you he's also called you to be a great witness to be his witness in this world wow what a privilege what an honor to be in a place like this and so i'm going to pray also for all the saints and all those who have died in this place who are buried here the 855 people that they may be intercessors your intercessors of becoming this beautiful witness of jesus in this world all angels all saints pray for us so now as a family called to be a witness of christ let us proclaim our faith i believe in god the father almighty creator of heaven and earth and in jesus christ his only son our lord who was conceived by the holy spirit born of the virgin mary suffered under pontius pilate was crucified died and was buried he descended into hell on the third day he rose again from the dead he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of god the father almighty from there he will come to judge the living and the dead i believe in the holy spirit the holy catholic church the communion of saints the forgiveness of sins the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting amen and so we also bring our prayers to the lord we have a lot to pray for a lot to trust in the lord for and i'd like to pray especially for these 855 souls that are represented here in this chapel in kalkara i just pray lord jesus that you give them eternal rest that from these you create saints lord hear us we pray for those suffering through this pandemic those who have loved ones they cannot visit those who have loved ones that they lost lord have mercy on your people your children and put an end to this pandemic lord hear us and so now in a moment of silence just bring your own prayers and intercessions to the lord so let us pray for the intercession of mary our mother hail mary full of grace the lord is with thee blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb jesus holy mary mother of god pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death amen blessed are you lord god of all creation for through your goodness we have received the bread we offer fruit of the earth and work of human hands he'll become for us the bread of life [Music] the path ahead one step enough [Music] blessed are you lordly [Music] stayed but i ran instead in spite of fear i followed my pride my eyes could see but my heart was [Music] light and in the night when i was afraid your faith [Music] so pray my brothers and sisters that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to god the almighty father may the lord accept the sacrifice at your hands for the praise and glory of his name for our good and the good of all his holy church accept our offering o lord we pray and in the sanctifying and sanctifying them grant that we may be profited for salvation through christ our lord the lord be with you lift up your hearts let us give thanks to the lord our god it is truly right and just our duty and our salvation always and everywhere to give you thanks lord holy father almighty and eternal god for your word through whom you made all things whom you sent as our savior and redeemer incarnate by the holy spirit and born of the virgin fulfilling your will and gaining for your holy people he stretched out his hands as he endured his passion so as to break the bonds of death and and manifest the resurrection and so with all the angels and saints we declare your glory as with one voice we acclaim [Music] heaven and earth in the house [Music] is you are indeed holy oh lord the fount of all holiness make holy therefore these gifts we pray by sending down your spirit upon them like the dewfall so that they may become for us the body and blood of our lord jesus christ at the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion he took bread and giving thanks he broke it then he gave it to his disciples saying take this all of you and eat of it for this is my body which will be given up for you in a similar way when supper was ended he took the chalice and once more giving thanks he gave it to his disciples saying take this all of you and drink from it for this is the chalice of my blood the blood of the new and eternal covenants which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins do this in memory of me the mystery of faith [Music] therefore as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection we offer you lord the bread of life and the chalice of salvation giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you humbly we pray that partaking of the body and blood of christ we may be gathered into one by the holy spirit remember lord your church spread throughout the world and bring her to the fullness of charity together with francis our pope with charles our bishop and all the clergy remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection and all who have died in your mercy welcome them into the light of your face and have mercy on us all we pray that with the blessed virgin mary mother of god would bless joseph her spouse with the blessed apostles and all the saints who have pleased you throughout the ages we may merit to be coheirs to eternal life and may praise and glorify you through your son jesus christ through him and with him and in him o god almighty father in the unity of the holy spirit all glory and honor is yours forever and ever the savior's command and formed by divine teaching we dare to say our father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil deliver us lord we pray from every evil and graciously grant peace in our days that by the help of your mercy we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our savior jesus christ for the kingdom the power and the glory are yours now and forever and lord jesus christ who said your apostles peace i leave you my peace i give you look not on our sin but on the faith of your church and graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will who live and reign for ever and ever the peace of the lord be with you always and let us offer each other a sign of [Music] the peace of the lord [Music] mercy on us is [Music] behold the lamb of god behold him who takes away the sins of the world blessed are those called to the supper of the lamb lord i am not worthy that you should enter under my roof but only say the word and my soul shall be healed [Music] amazing grace how sweet the sound that like me i once was lost but now i'm found no longer i have chosen to run this race determined to reach the end cause i have forgotten it's only by grace that i can see your face cause only by grace [Music] who can show me the way the way to the father throne [Music] only by grace the eagles fly by that some grace [Music] who can show me the way the way to [Music] me [Music] the way to the farthest [Music] i'd like to pray for you this is a very beautiful and significant place a place where there has been a lot of suffering just like there's so much suffering now in this world people who have died people have lost their loved ones and we're going to pray for the intercession of these 855 people who are buried here for the breakthrough in your life the breakthrough in this world especially for the pandemic so if you're comfortable enough just bow your head so close your eyes and i'd just like to quickly pray for you father god i thank you for the gift of healing i thank you for the gift of breakthrough i thank you lord jesus that you're healing your people right now lord i pray for those people who feel hopeless and feel that they're not good enough and worthy enough lord show them their anointing show them that it is not by might not by power but by your beautiful spirit lord powerful spirit lord those who are suffering from depression anxiety lord those who are lost and lonely feel abandoned especially by the ones they love lord i pray especially for those who are grieving someone whom they love someone who has died and lord give them your consolation your presence your spirit lord i am thank you that i thank you that you're healing someone from an upper back pain lord i claim this healing in jesus name for those who are praying that their knees be healed lord i claim this healing in jesus mighty powerful name thank you lord jesus for healing migraine even at this moment those who cannot conceive lord jesus you're giving them this gift thank you holy spirit for your love thank you for your healing thank you for your presence thank you for your breakthrough so together let us pray the act of spiritual communion my jesus i believe that you are present in the most holy sacrament i love you above all things and i desire to receive you into my soul since i cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally come at least spiritually into my heart i embrace you as if you were already there and unite myself holy to
