Life As a VIP High Roller At the Casino: What It's Like, Why I Gave It All Up and Gambling Addiction

welcome back to all my subscribers and for those of you who are first-time visitors I invite you to subscribe because I drop all kinds of videos but the thing that I want to talk about today is what it's like to be a high-roller VIP I'm going to detail that entire experience for you guys and last the most important I'm going to go into why I gave it up why I gave up at VIP high roller experience why I essentially stopped gambling and my mindset going forward most of the people to ask high rollers and I know this because when you go to these games you know you go to the tigers or whatever Pistons Red Wings concerts and you're talking to these people a lot of these people they just look like regular everyday people 95% of these people they are not like flashy and big and a g5 and all that another no they're just regular people with a lot of money a lot of bank and then like enjoying themselves in an environment where they can make big bets and that's a rush that's the advice that's they play that's what they want to do and people in those type of situations it's not the same as a regular everyday Joe you know that's gambling is rent money or you get paid on Friday and you broke on Saturday and you can't pay his light bill it's a whole nother ballgame so before I go into the whole VIP high roller experience I think it's important for me to talk about how I got here so the first time that I ever placed a bet in a casino was in Windsor I'm guessing around 2001-2002 I wasn't old enough to get into casinos here in America so they had already built the three permanent casinos well not the permanent but the temporary casinos here in Detroit which was MGM Grand Prix town casino and Motor City casino so I have been seeing these places every day going to school and high school because cash sectors right here downtown so you know literally from cash tech you can see Motor City casino I'm thinking I was nineteen twenty years old we went over to Windsor me and my girlfriend at the time wasn't even my wife Rita and I think I brought like couldn't have been any more than one hundred and fifty two hundred dollars right I don't even remember if I won or not I was immediately taken by the environment the experience all the money all the lights the glitz and glamor and from there I was just absolutely hooked not necessarily with placing bets and gamble in itself but just the lifestyle fast forward you know couple years later or a year later in my earlier years I would go to Motor City casino white times I will go occasionally and then I went into a space where I was making a lot more money so I would go a little bit more frequently bets increased from ten and fifteen dollars a hand I was playing blackjack and increased to twenty five dollars a hand regularly and I also got into poker one of the reasons why I got into poker is because it's slow it's a slower game and you went aren't playing against the house you're playing against other players right of course the recession 2007-2008 rough times for me I didn't you know I kind of slow down super significant because I just didn't have the resources obviously as time went on you know I got my bearings back I will go every once in a while when I say every once in a while maybe twice every six months fast forward to 2017 1819 and probably a little bit before that the casinos start acknowledging me as a high roller they start inviting me to special events they start giving me free everything and I'm talking I'm not even talking about cops I'm talking about front-row seats to everything hotel rooms as much as I want it all the events they even offered me a free Cadillac right so I was like okay you know what let me go over to MGM Grand because my comps and the way that they treat me could possibly go a lot further because I know MGM has casinos literally all over the world and now you got to keep in mind also that at this point I'm pushing anywhere from $100 to throw all the way up to a thousand sometimes if it's really in 2000 2500 dollars a throw at the dice table right I know it sounds crazy I never even said nothing I just would give my players card and once you give you a player's card that's how they track you they track you want to slots which I don't play slots and they track you on table games which like I said my my game of choice was the craps table you know they see you betting $500 $1,000 a throw and then leveraging Mac sides sometimes five six thousand dollars on top of whatever the original bet was to bet against or for the player the host came up to me and was like hey excuse me Daniel's how you doing I just want to introduce myself and you know we really appreciate your business so on and so forth I'll be your personal hopes he's available to you at any time entirely based off the type of action that you give that's how they determine how they're going to treat you for example of course you get comped and cop says basically how much they're giving you per hour based off the bet sizing in the game that you play right you really never have to use your comes as a VIP High Roller because they will give you everything and I'm talking about everything from box sweets to concerts they'll reserved entire tables for you personal drivers to and from your house to one from the airport they'll fly you out to anywhere you want to go food accommodations they will go to any extreme anything that they can possibly do to make sure that you're taking care of now how much does it cost or how much do you have to play in order to be considered a VIP hi rose information that I'm giving you at this point it's not just only based off of me but it's also based off of a lot of other people that I've met playing with high rollers you have to give a really really good decent amount of action on a regular basis I would say personally if you're giving anywhere between five and ten thousand dollars worth of action a month you'll start to see some of the perks at my highest I was given somewhere around anywhere between twenty and forty five thousand dollars a month and now that doesn't mean I was losing 22 22 22 $45,000 it just means at any given time throughout that month that's the amount of money that I had in place so I would come in buy-in for five thousand buy-in for ten thousand the minimum that you're betting and they try to watch and give you a maximum and then it gives you an average of how much action that you give that determines obviously the level of not perks but the level of assistance let's just put it like that that she'll be able to get if I call and I say I want this and I'm giving that type of action think about it if you're talking about that type of actually you're talking about anywhere from a quarter million or a half a million a year in action and that's accurate that's that's that's pretty accurate but so let's just say it's this exclusive situation and I want to be here I want to be front row seats at the Pistons game for LeBron and I'm coming here right then that means that based off the action that I'm giving and my aunt level of activity there could be a guide as given 12 million in action and obviously he takes precedence over me as far as the priority for the casino because he's spending a lot more money but look literally if you if you in that range and you started get up there is nothing that you can do and I'm talking about private rooms as far as places and that you can't that regular people never ever see that's laid out as much food as you want the accommodations whatever you want a couple years back ahead I had got so into the fast life and the lifestyle of casinos that I was carrying around you know twenty-five thirty thousand dollars in my pocket the VIP experience is literally and this is why I was so obsessed with it there's nothing that you cannot have true story inand a lot of my family can validate this sometimes and this was back when I was playing at Motor City I would go when I would just take like 15 people in my family 15 20 people and just take them all out to dinner write everything on a casino my whole family and he's talking about three four five six hundred dollar bill plus tips and I would tip out of my own pocket but you're talking about a lifestyle where literally you can do and have anything not a misconception a lot of times is that these are free perks they are not free right you are putting money in action which means that the house always has an edge unless you count cards I'm not really internet because like that like I said it's it's really just the rush and fun for me it's not free you you paying for one way or another which was one of the reasons and this kind of leads into why I gave it up in the first place it's not healthy it's a toxic environment and that the ups and downs thankfully I never again boat more than I could afford to lose you get addicted to the lifestyle some people get addicted to the chance of winning I get addicted to the action I just like having a lot of money in play I like to having a lot of money in my pocket playing on the table being able to call and getting VIP services you pull up and then you got priority car parked and I mean you know that lifestyle that fast life I absolutely positively love it and that's when I realized that I was addicted to that lifestyle and to born to the casino essentially addicted to gambling I'm gonna tell you the big turning point honestly I'm just kind of playing poker really light one two killing time because I have to make a run but the store don't open too late whatever time in the morning so I'm just killing time and I get a text message right text message said there was something completely unrelated right it was something that kind of made me mad as it releases something somebody else was doing or how somebody was seeing me and then that set me off my emotional hangar and outburst and everything like that made me just start betting retarded like it was almost like I completely lost my mind and I was just I wanted something to make me feel better right I wanted to take a bunch of money or something like that so I just started betting completely out of character right that's when I realized I realized that we I got an issue and it's some things I'm gonna have to change this is the late 2018 some things I'm gonna have to change in order to evolve into the person that I want to be another reason is you know my daughter is 10 years old I don't want her following in my footsteps as it relates to this because I know a lot of people that it absolutely positively destroyed their lives and it's and who's to say it can't happen to me I was absolutely against casinos coming to Detroit because most of the money that flows into these places is not from tourists you know what I'm saying like it's from the local economy if you come here at any point in the morning you can see a ton of seniors just absolutely gambling their lives away and it's a sad thing to see now I know that it's gonna be people that talk about personal responsibility and it's not up to them and if they don't want to go they don't have to yeah I've seen all of that but when you actually hear stories you know there was a guy Dan blew his brains out at motor city casino back when it was a temporary before it even had the hotel in a high limit room he was a cop and I was up there and I seen him gambling and we probably left like 15 20 minutes before he blew his brains out any time a place will put put people in a position of where they can lose everything they ever worked for their entire life that's a toxic environment so although I love the lifestyle and I'm not saying that I'm never gonna come or I'm never gonna play again but as of right now I've completely given to them I don't have time I have too much that I'm working towards I have too much that I'm trying to take care of I don't have the it's not what it is that I'm trying to do right if you want to come every once in a while and throw $20 $100 in a slot machine or whatever and that's it yeah okay that's not who I am I have an addictive personality and when I go I go I'm a man of extremes and either I'm all-in or all out so I just wanted to get y'all some insight on what the high-roller experience really is like I remember one time I was at the dice table and usually have Rita come down with me I give her some money to go play at the slots and she play real small or not a big player another day like she not really entered a casino like that but I'm like hey just stay here with me you know stay on my side or whatever I just want you you know to be over here with me and she's seen huh like the type of bedding that I do was she was just like her stomach dropped because she's it's not built like that for everybody I don't care if you got 40 million dollars in the bank a thousand dollars a road or some people whether they got 40 million in a bank or a billion is a lot of money to them you notice an eight and they mind they thinking man I can go shopping about it's about that but for me I don't know that's just my thing that's what I'd like to do it's weird but fortunately I gave it up and I'm just moving on like you know I need to work on me it's a lot that I need to give up if you want different results and you want to accelerate in different aspects of your life you don't have to give something up and for me this is me giving this up I appreciate y'all for being a part of this conversation because I'm gonna just tell you it's not easy to be as transparent as I am gonna let people into your life completely right my life is 100% of an open book and in my opinion if I can help somebody else by being absolutely transparent with my struggles and the things that I'm trying to navigate into right because I remember before I talked about how you know I gave up rap music and now I'm giving up going to the casino and there's some other things and I'm gonna talk about coming from or forward then I'm absolutely giving up and you know I just want to encourage you guys to make a
