Level Up Your Video Editing: Master Text+ Character Styling in Davinci Resolve

hello again so today what we're going to do is have a quick look at character level styling so on the timeline here I have Text Plus and what we're going to do is dial the title here so come across into the text box right Mouse click and select character level styling from the drop down then come across to the fusion page and because we've selected the Character level styling the modifiers are now available to us up here so what we want to do is around about frame 45 we want to change this tit title and the font that's associated with it they might be tempted to select the title here but as it says select the text in View for the style options so we need to do is quickly box select that as you can see we've now got the options here so let's change this font here we go and we will click in here set the keyframe what we also to do is set the starting font so we'll come back down to the Open Sands assembly bulb that we started from play that through as you can see everything is starting to change now you might be thinking okay I will also want to change the color so we come back to our keyframe here and we'll change the color look at something we can actually see and then run that through as you can see it changes as it goes from frame one to frame 45. the way around that I've found to count to frame 44 the color to white there we go you can see now changed so you can change that multiple times do whatever you'd like to do what I have found is that I need to set the end fonts first and then select frame zero and set the starting font if you do it the other way around get a little bit confused now you might be thinking okay how do I do this with a text 3D so let me just pull a text 3D onto the nodes here along with the render click Text 3D put in the custom title and click and go character level styling come to the modifiers but I can't actually select anything from here it doesn't allow me to change anything the way around this is to in the text box you connect to style text that we had for our initial Text Plus so if we play that through there we go it's now connected to the text that we had in our initial Text Plus and then you can do whatever you want to do within the text 3D I want to make a change we go so I've made a change in the text plus to custom text and you can see that it automatically reflected in the text 3D do hope someone found this useful if you liked it Please Subscribe give it a thumbs up leave a comment and thank you for watching
