according to bruce erins the head coach of the tampa bay buccaneers they were that he had not reported to the trainers he had not reported to the medical staff that hey my ankle needs attention please give us some attention um i can't return to the game so bruce aaron goes up to him confronts him about going in he doesn't mention the ankle he mentions the amount of targets and bruce aarons basically says him get the f out of here and technically he did get the f out of that and took off all his equipment and left now what i what what i love about receivers the way it's always been explained to me is by my mentor is nobody in the game of football has to beg for the ball except for y'all that's true so that creates a need for attention y'all can win and not win because you don't because we want to make sure that you come back in shape and you're the same guy that we decided to pay x for because you've missed basically two and a half months and hold on and here's the incentives it was something to where i we had to win my incentives were we had to win the game and i had to play 45 percent of the downs right they control it they control it so i'm like i it's gucci when i was in offseason i came back to miami i did my whole training here coach swayze love him so the first week we get back i don't make the the 45 percent of the downs we win the game i ate that all right that's 270 000. but i proved to them within that game and in practice that i can go it wasn't until the second week that i realized that they were like why would we be giving this guy this extra 270 000 a game if we win it then i realized that they purposefully i don't even know if that's a murder that thing got twisted it's a there's somebody up in the box counting my plays thanks facts countless counting my plays knowing the percentages also looking at the game if we gonna win and after the third game back i realized i ain't getting this money back i'm not and so from a business aspect is i pay you for a certain amount right ocho 8 10 catches a game 100 whatever yards that's what i want at a bare minimum and i'm in a little group chat with some of my dogs and they're not in the league so they ain't really make money like this and like but the owners i said you don't understand all these billionaires they fight and they scrap for every penny that's why they're billionaires it wasn't bruce aaron so so when he quit he walked out on the field and he lost his he lost it the dogs that's going to always have his back is who he hurt them up in the exact i get me another don't come out here and catch 100 balls right they don't feel it at all like you're a clown you look stupid but he put himself in that situation because if he never got in trouble they never would have tried to exercise something he gave it here's what i here's here's what i believe i doubt somebody's on a team they have a contract with incentives and they've been there and they've been bawling in a team purposely i've seen it twice no it happened i've seen it twice it it happened everybody got that one word it happens that they that they they stop you from doing it so my thing is is is he's out here and he's complaining he's talking you put your you gave them the leverage bro they got the leverage they got the control and now we're talking business you think i ain't gonna enforce it why not right right right and you can't be mad i got 12. i got 13. i got that defense i got todd bowles listen they did it i covered the dolphins they did it to ronnie brown they did it to reggie bush both times they had incentives that they had to reach in the final game they purposely sat them in those of those games and or didn't carry the ball in those games to prevent the running backs from getting to the incentives that they needed to reach and i you know at that time y'all all noticed were they were they still winning uh they just the dolphins they wasn't winning but i'm saying did they do it if they had shot at the playoffs and i don't know i don't know it's the dolphins 10 and six not make the playoffs oh but no no no i've seen it too many times with athletes where they when they have or at the doorstep of incentives and then all of a sudden you know they forget about them they don't call their number they don't they go away from it but it's busy it's business right you agreed to it all right but here's here's here's my this is how i feel about it right because there's so much we don't know in this world we like to judge and we like to give our opinion and we don't know you know like how you talk to a grown man you say get the [ __ ] out if you bruce erians there's you know there's so much coming out now with a b there's there's uh photos of a b texan uh bruce aryan the 30th of december explaining that the ankle wasn't where you felt it should be right so like i can't really get my opinion on it outside of what you're saying because i'm with you hold this is business and so we're emotional with it and so players got to learn to be more business-like and not take it personal but it's hard to separate the two because this football saved my life and you not know my mom's house burnt down my sister just had three kids at the age of 16. now now that's a different situation or you know one kid at 16. i got a hole in a community that is dependent on here busting my ass i got 100 catches i got 10 touchdowns i got 1400 yards paid me we get too caught up in that and that's what we got to do as players is we gotta we gotta we we gotta learn that this is a 16 billion dollar industry so we gotta learn how to operate like those billionaires and think like those billionaires stop taking it personal because of our experiences from age of five six and seven years of age he's a players coach and i think they don't they didn't have the relationship for him to really speak in that in that matter in that manner i think if it was a b and mike tomlin oh we didn't been we wouldn't be anybody for years in here and get it resonates a little different with someone that you know kind of cares about you a little bit more than bruce ahrens who ain't really wanting to do with you in the first place but you still you still remember that and just to speak on the situation with a b is for for me obviously just go beyond football because we've been friends outside of that before football was even in the mother picture we all go through our trial and tribulations in a way and everybody reacts different in different scenarios or people will say well this is what i would have done if i was in the situation but you don't know that because you haven't been in it you know i don't condone the behavior based on the way the way he acted can i understand why he did now that all the pieces to the puzzle have come out i kind of understand it would i have done it i'm crazy but i ain't that crazy but i am crazy but i wouldn't have done it that way and like i love ab to uh to a point to where all of us and our mothers if we were to get in any trouble whether wrong or right you know who they backing right your mama backing you yeah i'm always going back my dogs and my colleagues and those that that i know outside of the game of football because it's a friend of mine even though he made a mistake but but can you look at from the perspective of i mean we we got the raiders situation we got the patriots situation he has run his course throughout most of the nfl right now sorry i'm sorry about that y'all brought his call i did like my payment i had to make that payment sorry about that listen do you look at it as a situation where he needs help this is a young man who is super talented is clearly deserves clearly deserves to be in the hall of fame he will be penalized and punished for years before they ever let him in but he needs help somebody some somebody like they're talking about mike tomlin deserves to be in the hall of fame just for how he handled him for all these years without all of this stuff coming out does this a b need help guidance because right now i look at it as i don't know if anybody's going to let him back in the league help i went to mclean hospital for three months and then i was able to be in that situation that's why i went to my receiver coach and said coach i know who i am i know who you are this is how we're going to work best together we are peers together that's right right and so and now i set the tempo from the beginning for for the next two years i was working with coach girl you need those outliers though we got to see how we're saying come on what's this point remember i got fine they they screwed me over i lost a [ __ ] better nobody ever heard my story till i said it now so nobody knows that this happens that's true so you didn't take off your shirt didn't play football but if his point is to get this information out there and get the conversation started but what if this is happening it might be it's not successful av is still a pro bowler a b is still oh because he still can play if they oh ab can go on any team and start i've seen it he can still start for everybody the thing is though but it's always that's when you know it's over but yeah my last half of my career when i left the giants just had it whatever i go to the i left the jets went to the giants odell beckham jr he's now the number one it's exactly what you're saying he's the one so what i did is i came in the environment in the locker room and i made myself smaller because the emotional intelligence not because i'm just smart genius because i got the help i needed and i was able to shrink and say he's that dog and when i wasn't getting the ball the first game of the season odell beckham jr wasn't even on the field every game of my career i had a i had four three four or five catches fourth quarter the game is on the line we got 20 seconds left in the game i finally got my first catch but i'm operating differently because i got the emotional i got the skills and tools now hold on geno then i go to the then i go to the seattle seahawks see how to see our same situation sierra has come off an ankle injury in giant the giants yes seattle i was yes but i didn't have time to recover and so i couldn't i wasn't be baby i wasn't no be baby i wasn't behaving i wasn't a big baby so i had to like humble myself and i never told this story before but i had doug baldwin i love you doug but this is this is what i'm saying you got to have the emotional intelligence we go out there on the practice field situation happen whatever we come in here doug cuts me out in the locker room i mean in the meeting room with the receivers and i knew me who i am what you talking about now this ain't anything about football no more let let's handle it if i do that my career is over so i sat there and i took it professional when abe did what he did do you think he thought that he was going to ever play again yes no a b yes do you think he thought he was going to play again after that i don't know not even thinking about that at that moment i can't answer it not even thinking about it it's called when you're in a situation this is the stuff i learned in dialectical behavior therapy mental mentalization therapy and self-assessment it's about how do i get up here everybody's stressed out we all would feel the same way a b felt in that situation do you have the skills and tools to self-regulate and cope to bring yourself back to baseline so you don't make a mistake so that's why he needs help is because in that situation we all would feel the same way but now you need to have the skills and tools to breathe to do whatever you need to do to to be able to meditate whatever you need to do in that situation to be able to come back to baseline so you don't run off the field i want to ask you a question real quick because like i think with the a b thing right when you got older in your career you know what i'm saying you still could play right they they look at you different though right like as far as get not giving you the opportunities putting the young boys in did you did you have that or no did you had that when you when you got older yes i understand what you're saying so good so okay for example right so last year last two years i had that thing where it's like yo like coach come on man you know i could play with these dudes you know what i'm saying when you get older seriously they get older they look at you like it's attractive insurance is that like so with a b it's like he he he not the young a b where he can act crazy and it don't matter you see what i'm saying because it was a b that was crazy that they say was crazy it didn't matter because he was still nice he got older right and he don't have that same control i've been there like damn i'm not handled like a pro coach said that that's old but that's what we're doing cool i'm gonna help these i'm helping young boys out because i love my boys he ain't like that but you don't have that leverage to control it only thing i think with him is that he didn't have like he wasn't professional
