LEAVING OUR HOME BEHIND | TRENT & ALLIE

[Music] what's up guys and good morning the garage has got a lot going on we've got a lot of plans for it we even got some of our stuff for our permits back so those are going to be happening very very soon but today Ally I and Leo are going to meet up with someone very special and we're going on an adventure it is a beautiful day outside but we are abandoning the property we're hitting the road you a little videographer you holding the camera oh so he's gonna be a doctor a doctor not a YouTube okay yeah maybe a heart surgeon it's up to you you decide you decide who do you think Leo does that sound like a good idea yeah [Music] you want to be a dentist do you want to be a dentist laughs the AC is off the trash is out fridge is cleaned the laundry's done oh we need to turn on the dishwasher before we go if we've forgotten anything at this point it's a lost cause we'll just have to get it when we get there we've been preparing for this adventure for probably for a really long time but like you know literally for the last like 48 Hours we've been Gathering everything packing things getting everything ready more details will unfold soon foreign [Music] 's parents house here in Salt Lake City and let me just let you in on a little hint we're heading to a place that I hate and this is our special guest [Laughter] stoked are you right now I'm so excited are you I'm so nervous you're gonna do great I'm sure yeah duh we're starting out the afternoon doing something that Trent does not absolutely love I won't go as far to say as he hates it but it's not his favorite thing and Joel has never done before so I'm really excited to take all these guys on one of my favorite experiences so we're loading up into an airplane and we're heading somewhere very far away yeah all right we have called our Uber they're going to be here in about 14 minutes to pick us up we're going to load all of our bags and everything into this little minivan we're heading to the airport tension is high we're all very excited it's gonna be a fun trip what's your impression of what this trip is about to be like try to be so much fun and epic and I'm gonna have a great time wow yep look at you yup my goal for this weekend is for Joel to actually have a great experience and a super fun time hanging out with all the people that we're going to end up meeting when we get there I think it's going to be a lot of fun and I'm like I said super excited to take him on his first airplane ride the matching energy in this room is just unbelievable I know you can see he's doing it [Music] him know it's not a big deal even though we're both a mess right now so Ally is uh in the bathroom then we're heading to the terminal we're gonna get on this airplane we're going somewhere special oh my gosh is what I wanted thank you what are you doing are you ready now we head to the terminal I told you said it was on his bucket list to never get on an airplane an anti-bucket list [Music] hey so glad that we have a baby so we get to load early so we can get gold a crash course without being like a thousand people on top of it all right buddy all right guys [Music] um [Music] okay it's three and a half hours it's gonna go by really fast it's gonna be a smooth easy ride and we're all gonna watch movies and have a nice fun time [Music] be done in the groove don't leave a message [Music] how it off the entire time I'm sweating to death and I don't know how he's not unbelievably probably because it's a basically almost midnight uh the airport is empty we got our bags really quickly we're just waiting to be picked up right now oh we gotta walk all the way over there yes how are you doing honey I was like oh my God that's one point oh I am how are you all how you doing man [Music] yay yeah yeah oh boy [Laughter] [Music] yeah 100 years old you knew you knew who was coming hey even at midnight I'm really glad that we made it here to DC it feels like it's about four in the morning even though it's only like midnight and it's only like 10 a.m our time it's just like 10 a.m 10 p.m sorry a four hour flight in the afternoon or in the evening just like really takes it out of you so I think we're all ready to hit the sack but see you guys in a bit [Music] foreign [Music] we are waking up bright and early to a nice relaxing kind of rainy day here in Washington DC at my parents house if you guys haven't figured it out yet we are in Washington DC we came to see Ali's parents we're actually having a big party here in a couple of days it's a big celebration for a handful of different things so for the next few days we're going to be exploring Washington DC it's Joel's first time here so we're taking him downtown we're going to the White House and like some of the museums and doing all the cool stuff down there and then uh this weekend we're gonna have like a crazy amount of people at this house and it's just going to be a big shindig so we're all trying to prepare for heading downtown today we have kind of an off day so we're exploring while it's not raining it's not super hot out but we're under a time crunch just like everything else in our lives we're running to the Smithsonian Metro stop down here in our nation's capital in Washington DC basically we're at the National Mall Joel that's crazy this is it you've been here Trent yeah so if you walk out here this is the Washington Monument on my days and then at the other side of this useless grass is our nation's capital wow wow wow wow wow if you guys caught one of our older videos um there was a riot at the Capitol on January 6th which just coincidentally coincided with uh us visiting my family over the Christmas holidays because we posted a video a couple days after that whole riot at the Capitol happened someone reported us to the FBI saying we must have been there and then the FBI came and interrogated and investigated us at our house which was not something you ever expect to happen in your life we were definitely not here on January 6th we were actually already back in Utah but it's kind of a funny crazy series of events and very cool to be able to show Joel around I think our first stop is here at the Smithsonian we're gonna check out the Natural History Museum [Music] it's the air conditioned I can feel it feels good wow elephant it's a replica of you before you have your coffee [Music] if you want to become what no you will becoming Miranda because Boise whose large cheekbones supported large teeth and strong powerful chewing muscles oh very nice I literally just put my chin and my eyes on top of that I used to really not like museums I always thought they were super boring but now I'm coming to realize that like I like learning about human history and we just learned about like 20 different types of human beings that were in here and is really cool some of them are like three feet tall some of them are Neanderthals all I know is that Joel and I did not evolved from neanderthals because they have all the features that we don't possess which is like big noses and big bodies and big heads and me and Joel are tiny everything so we're still trying to figure out which prehistoric human we evolved from but we know it's not Neanderthals YouTube [Music] foreign [Music] balancing everybody's hunger and needs and temperature requests Leo has completely skipped his first nap of the day which can only be a good sign of things to come from here how are you doing it's been a great time he's hungry next stop is food next stop is food Leo's doing horribly Joel's doing great we lost Leslie and we're all hungry fun day fun day in DC nice and cool it's like in the low 70s Sunny very very pleasant Leo has finally uh settled down and taken a little bit of a nap he's just relaxing in the stroller as long as we continue to move he's fine um but it would be really nice for Joel to see more than just like a couple of the museums so him and Trent actually hopped on some rented scooters they took off to go see The Monuments the reflecting pool the World War II Memorial and the Lincoln Memorial my mom and I are just enjoying the sights wow it's sunny out here and um slowly making our way back to the metro stop kind of a condensed trip this morning but it's always nice to see a little bit of DC we left Ally and Leslie and Leo behind Joel and I grabbed Joel and I grabbed a couple of these little uh rentable scooters though we're here at the Washington Monument there you go what do you think very nice we're gonna jump on our scooters and we're heading down to the Lincoln Memorial it's honestly the reason that we left Ally and Leslie and Leo behind is because Leo can't come on the scooters and it was going to be like probably a 30 minute walk for us to walk all the way down here with Leo check all this stuff out and then walk all the way back to the metro station and then go back to Bethesda so here we go [Music] how'd it go yeah yeah where'd you go all the way what'd you see the Washington Washington Abraham Lincoln thing and the big pilot stones I don't remember the names was it cool yeah it was really cool yeah we saw the thing that has all the states yeah the World War II we took a picture at Utah nice at least these guys got to experience a little bit more of DC the authentic because historic DC but now I think we're wrapping things up and heading back to the house [Music] good morning guys it is actually the next day and even though yesterday did not go quite as planned oh my goodness one of my absolute favorite things being back home is that we get to take Joel to some of our favorite spots here in the DC area and of course if you know Trent you know he loves a fresh clean haircut and one of his favorite spots is probably the best barber we've ever encountered in all of our travels all over the world yeah his name is Jason and he goes by Jack the Clipper and he's like a competition Barber and he's just given me the most amazing haircuts with like the most incredible attention to detail always keeps me looking nice and pretty much every time we are here in uh like the DC area I go and get a haircut from him and I got a haircut like two weeks ago so my hair is not like out of control but I'm gonna go and get a nice little clean up because you know I'm here and I love getting haircuts from this guy thank you uh today yeah no oh wait is today oh not today a lot of people do it man I think I scheduled the wrong day oh no rather depressing no it's okay I'm upset because I scheduled for the wrong date and I was really looking forward to getting a cool haircut but now I'm just gonna have to stick with my regular old haircut but we're still going to go to the mall and get some shirts for me and Joel for the party even though yesterday I did not go quite as planned everything has worked out so well for today today is the main event the reason that we're here we're super excited because my family hasn't all been together since about 2019 for one of my cousin's weddings and so today is the first time that we will all have gotten together since Trent and I got married since we had a baby there's another new baby in the family there's been retirements graduations really exciting new jobs my brother is actually moving to Denver there's just a lot to celebrate that we haven't all been able to get together and actually celebrate and today is going to be a huge party to celebrate everything under the sun and most of all just us being together it's a little hectic people are running around like crazy people trying to get things ready but I think it's all coming together as long as it doesn't rain everything is going to be great good morning hello how are you doing good good good morning good morning hello how are you good good mother how's it going over here it's great all my art projects that I do at the very end my mom actually has a history in project management and party planning and she's also the queen of procrastination so she loves to do things she loves to do things at the very very last minute right under the wire but they always every single time pull together beautifully right at the last second and today is no exception even though right now in the hours before the party it's a little hectic nobody knows what happens as long as the curtain goes up at eight o'clock that's right yeah we're uh just kind of running around like crazy right now trying to get all the logistics trying to get everything set up there's like 500 people that are coming to Ali's parents house right now this is basically a big Gathering we've even talked about what it is yeah a little bit yes it's like just a bunch of different celebrations that all took place during the pandemic and this family like both sides of the family haven't been together for like five years so this is going to be a really cool party reunion Extravaganza we're all uh we're all preparing to party foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] the party last night was so much fun that we forgot to film basically anything at all we had all of the family here from both sides my mom's whole family my dad's whole family cousins babies Leo has a brand new cousin who we got to introduce for the first time and this morning was kind of like the after party and we had a very nice spread basically they had this place called The Omelette chef and they had like three omelette stations set up here you like put in your order they make you an omelette they make waffles they got all the toppings here honestly it's been a amazing morning we had some coffee some delicious breakfast and now it's uh time to clean up the mess from last night [Music] I just wanna tell you guys beware [Music] [Applause] [Music] cause I love you baby if you know anything about our family it's that we say very long goodbyes so we've had a very nice extended brunch this morning we've been saying goodbye for probably the past hour and uh in in true party fashion for our family some neighbors just came over to hang out as well you've shown up for brunch right on time right on time see you later Michael oh it's cute my brother and his girlfriend Becca are actually moving out to Denver which is a huge step for them it's super exciting she got a great job and they're making the move which hopefully means my parents will be making the move sometime soon so we just actually gave her a big hug goodbye and she's actually going to the airport and moving out there today like now it's crazy it's cool they're like picking up their lives and moving out west and it is really close to Salt Lake City and it's really Ally's only sibling so we're hoping it'll kind of draw her parents further out west at least be it is closer to us for the rest of today I think we are just continuing to clean up and hang out with family and really just enjoy some time together yeah we had a blast at the party last night it was a really exciting time for everyone to get together spend some time together have a little party now things are winding down Becca and Michael were leaving the last few guests are taking off Allie and I are probably gonna go take a nap yeah Joel is uh already hibernating somewhere downstairs he's had a complete social battery drain over the last few days so we'll pick you guys up in a little bit you got everything yeah you sure 89 sure which is enough it would be okay to leave okay it's really early sad to be waking up this early for the reason that we're waking up which is it's time for Joel to go home [Music] for you we're here all right guys we've made it to Dulles airport so we're in DC and we flew here last Monday it's now the following Monday we've been here for one week and today Joel is departing it's very very sad and I know you guys are probably all asking yourselves why aren't you guys going with Joel and it's because Joel basically skipped an entire week of school to come out here and meet all of Ally's in like her extended family at this big party that we had and the big celebration and now he's got to go back to school and Ally and I have something else up our sleeves yeah are you excited to fly home no but yeah we're gonna walk him inside also another thing that I bet a lot of people have been asking themselves throughout this entire video is where is Frank and Lika yeah it's true we never even talked about that so we never even mentioned this but basically there's this Sanctuary which is like pretty close to our house it's up in the mountains and you can take your dog there and as long as your dog gets along with all of the dogs in the facility like they basically just have this no cages no leashes there's basically just this big open Farm where the dogs get to run around and play and there's somebody who sleeps in the facility with all the dogs it's heated in the winter air conditioned in the summer it's an amazing place for dogs and salika and Frank have been having a fun exciting stay there where they get to play with a ton of different animals or different dogs anyway that's where they're at we get check-ins from the actual facility pretty frequently they've sent us pictures so that we know that Frank and leak are happy and having fun and it's really the only way that we feel comfortable about boarding Frank and Lika because they don't have to be locked in cages they're gonna do so good oh thank you you're gonna do so did you catch me saying that I have to poop on camera no I did not okay good well now you did but what was your favorite part of the week all of it honestly it was honestly so fun and amazing really yeah are you lying I'm so happy to hear that thank you of course oh I'm so glad I was so worried that you'd be super bored and not have any fun I had fun I feel like I want to go home you're homesick yeah Joel is also on this trip going to get his first solo airplane ride out of the way but also he's here at Dulles Airport which is big and a little intimidating so we're walking him all the way into security like we're sending him off on you know I don't know some type of Excursion a mission and uh somebody said I'm really proud of him because to be 16 and just like heading out on an airplane is not something I probably would have done when I was 16 but he's totally got this and I'm excited for him see you in a few days love you dude all right keep us updated later Texas okay oh it's like kind of sad it is it's like we're sending them on an Excursion across the world but really it's just we're sending him home he honestly did so well I'm so impressed to be 16 and really come into a situation where you don't know a lot of people at a party and just put yourself out there it's hard and he did so well really made me proud and I'm just so proud of him that like on top of all that he literally is like just tackling this excursion and like yeah I got this I'm not worried I can do this like at first he was worried to even fly on the airplane with us and now he's like I got this I'll fly wherever I need to by myself this grown up I'm proud of him well guys it's been an action-packed week and needless to say we have been on vacation and maybe the documentation of this this trip has not been as uh as intense as most of our documentation because we have been really enjoying ourselves but we had a really good time bringing you guys along and spending this time with Joel and Ali's family and we've still got
