Watching these amazing instructors online always reminds me why I left my last studio. I miss having a studio and the feeling of being in a group, but I just didn't enjoy the actual "class" aspect to it. For a long time, I thought it was because this sport just wasn't for me. But seeing this reminds me that there are definitely better options out there.

Question 1: Can someone ID the pole she has at her apartment?

Question 2: Is there a decent portable pole? I spend the weekdays at my parents' and the weekends at my boyfriend's, so I don't want to spend money on 2 permanent poles until I am really good.

so let me show you what we're gonna be learning okay hey guys hey guys hey guys my name is aza day I'm almost 28 years old and in the next 30 days I am going to learn how to pole dance all throughout the next month I'm going to be taking tons of group classes I'll learn some new moves maybe a routine at the end and possibly even climbing a pole kind of stretch but you never know I'm so excited to bring you along on this 30-day journey with me can't wait so I'm most nervous about and all honesty my mom but it's the video at the end because a Middle Eastern it's a little more conservative pole dancing is one of the most athletic and challenging is strength-based sports that exists everybody's so terrified because somebody's walking around with a ash tree yeah most people expect it to be difficult but I think they also expect that they're kind of gonna feel sexy and look good and they're gonna be disasters bring it all to people don't put it in a pot stir it up put some sprinkles on it we got this I'm up for all the athletic things I'm nervous about anything that's a little too provocative and sexy there are a thousand and one styles of pole dancing not everyone has to be classic stripper style okay I have a question when you are on this like does it not hurt like your skin contacts mhm there's nothing for that no but the more you do it your muscles would become stronger your skin gets tougher so you won't bruise as much alright you ready to get this thing started yeah awesome we don't have to add it to my routine but I kind of do want to try to learn to get myself up here at some point climbing the pole is coming it's just dance or not the first thing we're gonna do literally just gonna practice a pirouette okay pull your hips out you're gonna turn into the pole let go Andrey grab up top yourself yes let go regrip so the next movement is a dip turn take it a circle around so we're gonna end up whole same leg as arm you're gonna make a circle around the floor circle around put it down yeah none of this is gonna feel natural born in a jungle or strip club so now we're gonna rock a back spin and I'm gonna make a circle backwards and you're gonna come this way yes let's go ahead and rock a fan kick up and over you're going to because you're gonna lift your body weight off the floor yes oh I'm dying like I'm kind of like energized but it wants to like kind of want to fall to the ground thank you hey guys it's day number two and they came and installed this into my apartment I will definitely not be having any friends or family visit present it's 29 I woke up this morning so sore I couldn't get out of bed so I'm gonna stretch now and get in my first solo practice wish me luck hey guys it's day 4 and I'm not so sure anymore it's just the backs of my legs hopefully by tomorrow that will be gone so I can just like fully get into my stretches cuz it just hurts I am dying it's that time of the month I just really did it stretch out and I came into like one twirl and I got the worst charley horse and I really don't want to do this this little tripod thing finally came in so I guess I came out obligated to film myself not a strong I don't want to show the little jumpy like thing and have a lot of bruises on my hips and it's just so fat tomorrow I'm a little bit nervous about intro class hey guys I just got back from my first school class I fell in love with this fitness honestly it is a fitness I was really nervous because I was like my first group class I know it was called internal pull but sometimes you go into inter causes and there's people who are just like I feel like everybody was on the same level and everyone was really friendly now I really want to get good at this just that an amazing you are absolutely improving with every single class you are and that's what makes me as a coach really happier worker do just wanted to show you some of my fresh bruises that I woke up with this morning I mean there's people of all ages all sizes like it doesn't matter who you are what you look like I feel myself getting stronger I'm really pushing myself and I'm having fun with it I can't wait to see what the final result is I'm nervous EBI I know bring those hands up nice and tight make sure you're standing literally like right up against the pole yes I want you to push your shoulder blades down towards your back pocket and see if you can lift your heels off the ground once you lift your heels up here to try and lift those time yes it's hard as hell right I know I know it's death you're fun now you're gonna bring one of your legs behind the pulse your knees behind I'm a little rest my leg right underneath yours so there is no way you're going to fall pull yourself straight up and see if you can just lift this back leg off the ground you're gonna bring that back leg off the floor and wrap it around the pole close my eyes but I really want to hold onto the pole and just get most Batchelor underneath all the way it's about arrogance perhaps you want to walk your hands out just slightly and if where you can lay down on the floor think about a lovely Parisian picnic you don't want to get super sweaty look at the Sun dress put your damn toes listen Jarius love you vagina muncher come back to your and in position with a backspin beautiful bring those hands off the pole walk hold on come back up you came down like a little baby elephant lovely that's better roll over onto your stomach and either direction say like I'm really off my face game I know what's going on it also didn't realize how many moves either learn but I don't realize that until I'm not practicing I'm like oh wait I can do this to him I can incorporate this I had my last class yesterday with Roz I feel that I've really come out of my shell with this even like when I would start practicing I was like always in big t-shirts and like basketball next Friday at this time I'll be freaking out because it's my final performance I'm still not so comfortable with fan kicks and climbing only because it requires no this upper body strength what I did not have I think I got this fan kick down not necessarily like with my legs extended all the time I can throw it into my final performance on Friday Friday which is also my birthday the final performance is on my birthday so Roz is here at my head in these last 20 some days not quite at 30 yet but damn sure they're it's been a so much work on your part and it takes a lot of discipline it's one thing when you come to class you practice but the fact that you've been practicing at your pole at home Holly did you have any more hi I have been practicing all afternoon I'm so nervous for tomorrow I just like got really nervous I really feel myself having gotten stronger not just physically but mentally stronger as in I'm just more confident with me and that is something I was not expect but it's definitely something to do with you know seeing all these women in class who are embracing themselves and racing their bodies and such a judgment-free zone and we think like oh of strippers it's not it's so competitive it's such a good fitness that'll be up early we need healthy tonight I got a good night's rest we're gonna do this I'm so excited yeah wish me luck milk it milk oh yes oh yes excellent and get it now get set up excellent stretch chocolate just like your coach what's the final verdict 30 days a poll I love it sorry I got really distracted by this cake can we do that again I want to come back to your classes you have to now your family your actually have surpassed my expectations for 30 days because this is a lot to do and a lot to learn thank you so much for taking this time to teach me and coach me and for giving me this newfound confidence and breaking me out of my show hey guys I can't believe it it's over first of all it flew by I'm sad that it ended because I was having so much fun that surprise at the end that birthday surprise was so unexpected I just feel like I can challenge myself to bigger things now took a lot of discipline I hope in the end that it inspires someone watching this to challenge themselves and try something new totally out of the box and see where it gets you
