our god is great and he is greatly to be praised i know i asked this question often but i want to ask you again today has god done anything for you that nobody else could have done even if they tried i remember my godfather used to say if god did something for you that nobody else could have done then you ought to give him a praise and i know our world is an up evil our nation is an unrest and as the president said recently in fact some of the events that have taken place quite embarrassing it's a known fact that every day we wake up there is a new shooting in some cities some state across these united states of america i still believe that if our people this is what the scripture says who are called by his name will humble themselves and pray seek his face and turn from their wicked ways it is only then will he hear from heaven i pray that the peace of god will continue to govern your thoughts your minds your reactions and your spirits and in a difficult time that we know that we still serve almighty god it is why i've decided to use this particular passage of scripture today that i think speaks to the times but also if you are very very keen and aware you can also apply this to your personal life and that's that's the reason we preach to give you a truth that can be translated to be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path let's go to genesis chapter number 11. genesis chapter number 11. let's look at verse number one i'm going to be reading in the king james version of the bible genesis chapter 11 verse one here's what the scripture says and in this moment where we can't get anybody to do anything on the same page left us against right democrat against republican we've got gun rights versus uh second amendment you've got all of this stuff that's going on but here's what happened in genesis 11 the bible says and the whole earth was of one language it's not like that anymore the whole earth was of one language and of one speech and it came to pass as they journeyed from the east that they found a plane in the land of shinar and they dwelt there and they said one to another go to let us make brick and burn them thoroughly and they had brick for stone and slime had they for mortar listen to that they had they needed stone but stone wasn't available so they used brick that needed mortar but it wasn't available so they used slime the difficulty of building with substitute standards and they said go to let us build a city and a tower whose top may reach unto heavens and let us make us a name so that's that's what we're dealing with somebody somebody gets what i'm saying whether it's political with it there are things to be solved but most people are not trying to solve the problems what they're trying to do is make a name for themselves lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth and the lord came down to see the city and the tower which the children of men build it and the lord said behold the people is one and they have all one language and this they begin to do and now nothing will be restrained from them which they have imagined to do go to let us go down and their confound their language that they may not understand one another's speech doesn't that sound like today that there are groups of people talking but nobody understands what the others saying so the lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of the earth and they left off to build the city last verse therefore is the name of it called babel because the lord did there confound the language of all the earth and from thence did the lord scatter them abroad from the face of the earth i want to use a subject today that i believe is applicable to why we are struggling the way we are today in our nation yet even around the world i want to use for subject today language barrier language barrier let us pray spirit of the living god fall fresh upon us eternal spirit is once again that i come asking for your divine power to preach not to entertain but to proclaim that thou art the christ use me today order my steps in your word great god that you are speak and heal our lead in jesus name we pray amen not too long ago after landing from a flight like most people who have graduated from the age of renting cars i caught an uber and when the uber came up it was the car that matched the description in my app i looked in the window the driver matched the description of the avatar in the app i got in the car it was clean even had armor all on the floor mats it was it was immaculate somehow he must have known that i had just finished listening to old school music because when i got in ron eisley was right on the radio the scent in the car was perfect and if you've ever been in an uber you understand that that isn't always the case he had bottles of water in the doors mint in the cup holder gum and mouthwash and he had hand sanitizer i mean it was one of the best ubers i had and to add more to it he even had a light show inside of the uber led lights were flickering between magenta and royal blue and white and purple it was an awesome display when i got in the car after assessing the moment figuring that everything was perfect i noticed that every time i tried to compliment the driver or ask a question of him i got no answer he would look in the rearview mirror at me but would say nothing in response and i remember very vividly even when he came to open the door for me we almost ran into each other and i said excuse me and i'm sorry and he didn't even respond to that so in spite of the ambiance being perfected i have to admit that i was taken aback a little uh and was wondering uh how could such a nice car be driven by such a nasty man he didn't respond to anything i said he looked at me as if i was some scum from the bottom of the earth he never responded to me and i began to think uh there's something going on here and because i've been in uncomfortable situations before i was on guard the entire time i started to wonder what kind of day was he having who who was the person in the car before me what was his experience with african americans did he think i was some sort of game member after all i did have a hoodie on i didn't get in the car with my bible and and my collar and and i didn't have uh uh uh anything that suggested that i was a minister he he he saw me and i thought well am i being profiled is is this just another one of those things that african-american males are going through in our country today and after several encounters with him i labeled him disrespectful i labeled him as somebody who was doing the wrong job and have you ever come in contact with somebody in the service industry and you expected more out of them and they didn't deliver and you had already decided in your mind that this person doesn't know what they're doing that they are on the wrong job that if they didn't want to come to work today they should have stayed at home and if they don't like to service people then they shouldn't be in the service industry have you ever been through a moment like that because if you have i want you to take all of that memory and i want you to place it in this moment for me because this this is exactly where i was and after i labeled him disrespectful and uncouth it wasn't until he needed something from me that i recognized the totality of the circumstance we had gotten to the place where the building was in the script and he didn't know whether it was the building on the left side of the street or on the right side of the street and so he turns around and he tries to ask me which building it was and i did not recognize that the entire time that he was not answering me the entire time where we were not being able to get on the same page and and i would speak to him and he would respond i labeled it as disrespect but i later found out it was a lack of understanding he didn't speak english and it wasn't one of those people who knew 10 to 15 english words no when i say he didn't speak english i mean that i am probably the first person he ever heard english from i mean it was that far from the east from the west he had no idea what i was talking about and i learned that it was not uh watch this not a misunderstanding but a lack of understanding the entire time i thought that he and i were having a misunderstanding and i thought you know what if if it gets serious it's going to be me and him and mostly me i'd already got ready to defend myself i'd already put all of my words together you know how it is when you make your exit you're going to have a phrase to make people remember you and i remember that i recognized at that moment that it wasn't a misunderstanding it was a lack of understanding and let me talk about the difference between the two because a a lack of understanding is when you are missing relevant information necessary for interpretation a lack of understanding is when you're missing the information that you need to make the correct interpretation but a misunderstanding is an incorrect conclusion drawn as a result of interpretation so a lack of understanding means you have no clue but a misunderstanding is when you think you have a clue and you don't and i thought that he understood me so the argument that was that was boiling underneath the plate would have been a result of a misunderstanding but i was able to keep my calm and i was able to keep my mind and my focus because i recognize this is not a misunderstanding this is a lack of understanding so that being said there has been immeasurable misunderstanding and a lack of understanding as it relates to the scripture and the divine plan of god the bible isn't just a book about past events the bible is actually a bible or a book about the efficacy or the effectiveness of the salvific plan of jesus christ this is not just a history book designed to discuss old morays and old truths no this is a bible a book that is about one story and that is about the one who is and is to come it is a totality of stories that are designed to tell the same story and that is our redeemer lives in genesis 11 the need of redemption is preempted by the presence of rebellion and it was when i got in the taxicab or the uber or the driver as it were i began to recognize that the problem that this driver and i had did not start in the uber it started at babel that the problem that this gentleman and i were about to have him not understanding me and me not understanding him it didn't start when his mother and father gave birth to him in whatever country he was from and it did not start in this country in gary indiana where my mother and father birthed me no this started way back in the plains of shinar this started way back at the tower of babel this started way back in the day of joash our problem didn't start in the uber it started somewhere else and i am afraid that the reason why most of us cannot come to an understanding in our lives is because we always start at the place of the problem when actually the problem started somewhere else and until you go back and figure out where the lack of understanding started until you go back and figure out that the way you were educated is in conflict with the way someone else was educated until the husband goes back and recognizes that the reason he's arguing with his wife is because his mother raised him on zest and his wife was raised on dove until you recognize that there was something that took place you will always attack the fruit when the actual problem is the root the actual problem is the root and most of us attack the fruit the book of genesis is written better than any movie i've ever seen in the first 11 chapters of the book of genesis we see creation we see the fall of man in the garden of eden we see a rainbow we see murder i mean what a bioptic picture that by the time you get 11 minutes in you've already had murder flood rainbows and creation right here in the book of genesis humanity has the procreation of sin the flood comes a rainbow ensues and this chapter tells us how the diversity of languages entered into the world what we see here is the exact opposite of pentecost at pentecost they were speaking all different languages but when the holy spirit came they all understood each other as as if they were speaking the same language this is the reverse at babel it was it was a collective group of people now these are the people who have survived or the are the progenitors if you will uh of the people who are survived the flood because remember the bible says that the waters came and there were eight on the boat who was with the family and the hierarchy of noah and the bible says that they were wiped from the face of the earth so what we're looking at here is that the eight people have multiplied and some scholars who are able to calculate of the population density on earth at that particular time said that the growth of the population from noaa survivorship had gone from eight to thirty thousand that means that there were only thirty thousand people on the earth and they all spoke the same language as long as it was it was ten thousand they spoke the same language as long as it was twenty thousand they spoke the same language it was twenty five thousand they spoke the same language twenty nine thousand they spoke the same language but let me tell you whenever your group grows trouble comes that's why you gotta try to keep that circle small because the larger your group goes the more languages come in the larger your group grows the more thought processes come in the larger your group grows the more diversity comes and the more diversity comes then the more application of other thought process enter that's why you got to keep the circle small what we're looking at is the result of a growing circle 30 000 people had come and now the bible says that god commanded the people to be fruitful and multiply and watch this god says as you multiply i want you to scatter across the earth somebody say scatter i don't know who that's who i'm talking to right now but some of you have been standing in the same place for too long you have gotten comfortable and god told me to tell you it's time to scatter you have gotten comfortable on the job you're on you have been comfortable in your thought process you have been comfortable in your reasoning you don't want to meet new people you're saying things like i've known the same people for so long and i don't want to know anybody else and that is the enemy of your progress because whenever you get stagnant when god says scatter you miss the blessings of god i want everybody to shout scatter scatter scatter in your education learn things you've never learned go to restaurants you don't normally go to fly to cities that you don't have any friends or family in scatter go to different places getting cars you can't afford walk in neighborhoods you can't afford to live in scatter scatter scatter i don't know who i'm talking to but you need to scatter the problem is that you're stagnant and you're talking about a god who says scatter god didn't build one tree he scattered trees all over the earth he didn't give us one blade of grass he scatters grass everywhere he didn't give us one star he flung stars in the sky he didn't give us one body of water he gave us seas reservoirs lagoons rivers and streams why because we serve a scattering god and i am calling you into a season of multiplication somebody shouts scatter he says scatter scatter scatter don't stay where you are i want you to scatter i want you to go left i want you to go right i want you to go ease i want you to go west i want you to go north i want you to go south because you're too powerful for stagnant i gave you a scatter anointing said scatter scattered go go see things that you've never seen go to broadway don't just watch the same movie go go and listen to opera and and go listen to jazz don't just listen to the same genre of music why because where i am taking you you're going to have to have a scattered experience you're going to have to have a palette for fried chicken and caviar help me you're gonna you're gonna have to you're gonna have to have uh um a a pallet for 1942 and kool-aid i don't know who i'm talking to but you gotta you gotta scatter you gotta scatter you're gonna have to you're gonna have to scatter watch what he says god had commanded the people to be fruitful and multiply and scatter across the earth but they decided to stay they decided to say it wasn't that god didn't give them opportunities to go they just decided to stay god says scatter but they decided to move into nimrod city at the time which was babylon and and they moved into babylon and they settled there god said scatter nimrod said settle so that they could be under his control and so they settled and let me tell you something and i want you to write this down in your notes if you are serious about what i am saying and going to the next level god said scatter nimrod said settle they listen to nimrod and settle and all of your troubles start when you start settling you settle for a job because you didn't wait on god to give you a career you settle for a man because you didn't want to wait on god for a relationship you settle for a house which is why you don't have a home all of your trouble starts when you settle i am calling you out of your settlement i'm calling you out of settling settling because you're lonely settling because you're thirsty settling because you're starving settling because you're hurting settling because you don't have patience i am telling you this is not the time to settle this is the time to scatter i want you to shout again scatter scatter go as far as you can go visit everything you wished about go everywhere you dreamed about this is not the time to settle this is the time to scatter go to expensive restaurants buy first class plane tickets go and shop in places that you don't even have the finances for i want you to walk in and say my money said settle but my mentality says scatter i want to talk to somebody who will talk to themselves and recognize that god did not create you for a latitude and longitude place he created you for continents for streams and seas for business internationally i want you to prepare for a scattering in your life somebody say scatter scatter scatter approximately 100 years have passed since the flood and this is one of the most notorious incidents in all of the canon of the scripture they get to nimrod city and the bible says that they began to build a tower sounds like a good thing because they are the children of a builder yeah jesus he's a builder he he's a builder he in fact we know he's a builder because at the moment leading up to the resurrection he says i'm going to tear down this temple in three days i'm going to build it again he's he's a he's a builder the rejected stone has become the chief cornerstone that place that signifies the dedication of a building he is he is a builder he's a he's a stone he's a rock uh he's the rock of ages he's a builder that means that he's one who doesn't get old with time and and the bible lets us know that this incident takes place after the flood and they begin to build a tower and there is an old saying man possesses but god disposes it is the written word of the augustinian monk thomas a kempis in his classic book on the imitation of christ and the expanded version of what he says watch this he says man does what he can but god does what he will man does what he can but god does whatever he feels like and and watch this there are many plans in the hearts of man but nevertheless the lord's counsel will stand so they sought to build a tower but god disturbed the completion by confusing the language could you imagine building with somebody for three years four years five months however long you've been built could you imagine the person in the room with you right now wherever you are that you've been talking to that person for 20 years 15 years 30 years however long five months and then all of a sudden they open their mouth and you can't understand nothing that's coming out of it imagine you and your wife at the breakfast table right now you speak english she speaks english and you've been married for 15 years and all of a sudden the answer to her your next question comes out of her mouth and it is in a language that you have no idea how to speak could you imagine that just like going to the nail shop and you hear people having conversations in the dialect you don't understand that all of a sudden your husband starts to sound like the person at the salon just just completely different language don't understand them does it make sense this is what is happening at babel people who knew each other friends who used to take their children to the park together friends who used to go to the war games together friends who used to take walks and go around the tracks at shannara together and and would walk a mile friends who would who would uh harvest food together friends who would do all these things together they would have play dates and then all of a sudden the family across the street doesn't understand the neighbors because god confuses the language because they are building something that god doesn't want built and here is what i am telling you today that is impossible to complete anything when you work with people who don't speak the same language as you every incomplete thing in your life is a result of you talking to the wrong source you can never complete a thing until you get on one accord that's why the church as it were could not stand unified until on the day of pentecost that they all came on one accord you can't complete a thing when languages are competing you can't and that is what is wrong with america i don't care what you say what's wrong with america is not just black and white what's wrong with america is not pro-choice and pro-life what's wrong with america is not second amendment versus gun control what's wrong with america is that we cannot get on the same page what's wrong with america is that our languages are so diversified that change cannot come because in the halls and the chambers of congress you got one side trying to be this and one side trying to be that and nobody's caring about who's dying and nobody's caring about somebody's child getting shot in an alley innocently and nobody cares about a man getting pulled over on the side of the road because of how many air fresheners he has hanging in this rearview mirror all we care about is our gun rights and and our lobby rights and this and that and we could just get on the same language and understand that in this black skin and in your white skin we still have a holy ghost that is trying to change the world and our hearts are all bleeding beating and our blood is all red and if you understand that it's not about your rhetoric and whether you live on a farm or whether i live in the hood that we're all under the bloodstained banner of jesus christ and if we could all get on the same accord and speak the same language i'm afraid america that if we don't change our ability to get on the same page are we building a nation or are we really building a babel listen i just paused in the middle of our message language barriers to let you know that god is a god of finances i know people often are confused about what the scripture says about money or what they should do with money but i am not confused about this one statement as long as the earth shall remain see time and harvest time will not fail i believe that this is the season for the extraordinary not just in the area of spirituality but yes in the area of your money and if you were faithful with your first fruit you are getting ready to walk into the harvest season this is the season where things begin to grow this is where you begin to reap what you sowed and this is the moment that seeds turn into forest i am excited about this next part of the year and i believe that this is the area of overflow this is the season of overflow and if you believe it you shall receive it i want you to get your gift ready right now i want you to get ready to give and i want you to do it from your heart i want you to do it in a place of surrender i want you to do it from a place of love i don't want you to do it begrudgingly i want you to do it because god loves a cheerful giver they're getting ready to put instructions up on the screen right now you can follow those instructions as you have done every week since this pandemic ended and the reason why i say that is because i'm prophesying that even though lives are still being lost in even though people are still getting ill i see the end coming i see that god is about to heal our land and i pray that for those of you all who have lost loved ones and those of you all who have been in moments of despair i pray that god will give you the peace that's the passage all understanding and i pray that this gift that you're getting ready to give will do exactly what malachi said pastor what does death and money have to do it has everything to do why because the bible says that it will rebuke the devil i pray that your seed will rebuke depression that it will rebuke heartbreak that it will rebuke heart pain mental breakdowns communication issues i pray that this seed will multiply in your life god bless the gift and the giver in jesus name we pray amen are we building building a more perfect union or is this just our version of another tower and are we building something where we swear we have the best economy and we swear we've got the best this and best debt and yet we're falling behind in education and other nations are passing us in so many areas like math and science are we building a tower because we can't get on the same page we're building a tower policing in one neighborhood ain't the same as in another just a different language same bad same color different language you can look you can look it's right in the eyes and if you're disputed you you're you're just fooling yourself when you can look at a man who is who is telling the police officers that if you come in my car this gun that i have my hand on i'll shoot you with it and yet another man cannot have a weapon and be shot why two different languages that's what's wrong with america what's wrong with america is our languages have been confused we aren't we're not all speaking the same language and i'm wondering if god has looked over the balcony of heaven and has seen a people who have turned away from him a nation that swears is under god and indivisible and i'm wondering has god done to america intentionally what he did to the people at bible has he intentionally given us different languages is our punishment for turning away from him and more and more becoming a reprobate nation is that the reason why our ministries are confused is that the reason why our politics are confused and let's take it out of the broad scope and let's even narrow it down into the intimacy of your own home some parents not even on the same page there's confusion amongst two parents right now about how to discipline the child there is confusion in ministry there is confusion in marriage there is confusion in business i'm just here to tell you there's a language barrier there's a there's a there's a language barrier the tower the tower was built it was built it was built by nimrod and he got the people to build it with him and i'm getting ready to finish this but you got to hear this here is the significance of the entirety of the story are you listening to me watch this nimrod is the great grandson of noah you got to get that nimrod the person who has commissioned this tower is the great great grandson of noah noah is the man that god chose to build an ark for the survivorship of him and seven other relatives to get aboard on his plane on his boat and and and watch this it was the will of god i need you to hear me it was the will of god after the introduction of sin had come into the world that god wiped the earth clean and start again i want you to for the sake of metaphoric language i want you to see that the water is actually the will of god so what noah did when he built the ark even though he didn't understand why and even though it had never rained you better hear me and even though the only precipitation that they had ever saw was the dew that accumulated on the ground in the morning even though there had never been an inch of water on the ground noah built a boat for the water which represents the will of god so what noah built even though it was destructive he made sure he built something that can fit in his wheel he built a boat that could fit in his wheel but nimrod who was the great great grandson of noah who saw the destruction of his family his cousins and friends the bible says that he had decided to avenge god in other words he was upset with god and he said i'm going to build a tower to the heavens you got to be careful when you hear people use holy language because they don't always mean what it sounds like it means it sounds like we ought to be applauding nimrod for building a tower that wants to reach to the heavens but when the bible says that nimrod wants to build a tower that reached to the heavens it is not because he wants to shake hands with god the reason why he wants to build a tower that reaches to the heavens is because he's saying if god ever sends another flood i'm going to make sure that his will can't reach me he's saying i'm going to build a tower so high this is according to the historian josephus by the way so this is not opinionated language this is etched in history josephus says that he wants to build a tower so high that the next time god sends a flood he will be unaffected by it because if god's will begins to rise he can go run to what he built but what he doesn't understand is god is not going to use water his next opportunity to come and replenish the earth will be by fire so he wants to build something that is above the will of god help me holy ghost he wants to build something above the will of god noah built something that could fit in his will nimrod tried to build something that will put him above his will and anytime you try to build bigger than god he's going to confuse you anytime you try to build bigger than god he's going to confuse it any time you try to do more than god gave you the gift to do he's going to confuse it any time you try to step over his will and do it your way he's going to confuse it i'm telling somebody right now it's better to be like noah in the will of god rocking and rolling up and down hitting the waves and the rough patches and trusting god to give you the ability to survive than to try to be like nimrod and build something above the will of god i am telling you that you cannot get above him you cannot get beneath him you cannot get around him there's an old song that says you must come through the door and i am speaking clarity to the language of your life right now i'm speaking clarity to the language of your finances your money gonna start talking to each other and multiplying that's called interest your body's gonna start cooperating every cell in your body is gonna start cooperating because when your cells cooperate that's called healing i am speaking against language barriers that have caused you to be sick in your money in your children i'm speaking clarity into your life nimrod says i'mma build i'ma build above them god says no even though you have the ability to build above me i'm gonna stop the whole project by confusing the people who are working the bible says he just he just confused it don't miss what i'm getting ready to say don't miss this he he he didn't he didn't argue with nimrod he just stopped the project see what you got to understand is that god won't argue with you he'll just stop your progress he he doesn't have to prove himself he's god he doesn't have to do anything else he'll just he'll just confuse the language you'll be qualified for the job but you won't get it you'll you'll go into the bank to get a loan and they'll deny you because whenever you try to get something or build something that god doesn't have for you he'll just he'll just confuse the language watch this watch what god does watch what he does this is amazing look at verse three i'm done he says let us make brick this is what they say let us let us make brick now i've been to jerusalem i've been to the middle east i've been to bethlehem i've been to the jordan river i've been to the garden of gethsemane i've i've been to the tomb i've been to golgotha i've been to calvary i've been all over i spent many days and many opportunities in the holy land and one thing you will find out when you get there that most if not all things are built of stone most of all things were built out of stone i want you to look at that most of all things are built out of stone but they said let us make brick not let us get brick let us make brick not let us find brick but let us make brick you do know a stone is a natural mineral you cannot make stone stone is uh of the particle or the breakage from mountains and and boulders and and and when they become smaller they are stone but it's a it's a man-made thing stones are made by god that's why he is a cheap cornerstone and notice that when he came out of the tomb it was not bricks in front of the exit it was a stone it was a stone because stone is made by god and he wanted to make sure that bricks did not cover up his tomb because that would be a man-made thing covering a god thing so he made sure a stone in front of a stone he made sure it was a stone in front of a stone but they didn't get they said let us make brick and joseph says the reason why they had to make brick is because whatever happened in the area they were in for some reason in a land with plenty of stones it just so happens that in the plains of shannara where they were there was a stone shortage i thought about naming this sermon the stone shortage because when they got ready to build they didn't have natural materials they had to go and make brick and you know what brick is it's hot clay it is clay that has to be uh put in the fire and you have to make brick and and this is the same thing we see in first samuel chapter 16 when man wanted a king they they had to anoint him out of a flask which is a man-made contraption but when god wanted the king the oil flowed from a horn why because that's a god-made thing coming from an animal and i am here to tell you today that whenever any time you try to build something that god has not commissioned you to build he leaves it up to you to make the materials and the reason why you will never complete the project that is not according to the will of god is because you will be building materials and never building your life they were building bricks god made them make it up but when god picked a king i told you he used a horn any time it is in god it has to be made up anytime it is not god it has to be made up that's why the enemy keeps lying on you because god is trying to make you and so the enemy has to make it up y'all not here what i'm with me today anytime you're on your way up the enemy comes and he makes up stuff he'll he'll make up stuff and i'm telling you right now that's how you know that's how you know you are the stone but your accusers are the bricks it is made up it is facade and i am telling you right now that whenever god calls you to build something he always supplies the materials i don't know who that word is for but get ready for god to be your supply get ready for things to come that you did not expect i speak money in your life i speak health in your life i speak prosperity in your life i speak opportunity in your life i speak connections in your life i speak that your name is going far wide because you're trying to build something for god and god says i'm going to clear up the language barriers and make sure that every area of your life begins to communicate with one another he says they have to make a brick they have to make a brick they have to make it because this is not what god had for them at any time it's not god it has to be made up anytime it's not god it has to be made up when you get a chance i want you to redo the remedy when you get a chance i want you to read deuteronomy chapter 32 more specifically verse eight here's what the bible says when the most high divided their inheritance to the nations when he separated the sons of adam he set the boundaries of the people according to the number of children of israel it was god's intention that they separate what if i told you that all separations are not from the enemy what if i told you that there are some things that you had to part from because god was concerned about language about if you didn't scatter what would you hear if you settled [Music] because what you hear becomes what you think what you
