hello everyone i'm back today i'm gonna make the famous famous and delicious australian cake lamingtons okay let's begin i got four eggs and i'm gonna add a cup and a half of caster sugar but if you don't have castor sugar don't fret you can use ordinary sugar here's my overcopy on and off there we go so i'm going to mix this about three four minutes until it's nice light fluffy and looks cream-like [Music] stuff oopsie i forgot i need to tell you guys something the oven is on it's preheating 180 degrees celsius i've also lined 30 centimeter to a baking tray with baking paper if you don't have that you can just line it um or grease it with butter and some flour dust it with some flour okay okay guys now i'm gonna add one cup of oil just normal vegetable oil or some canola oil great okay i'm gonna add my vanilla and i'm gonna add about a tablespoon because i want flavor when i eat cake and mix it through as well okay next i'm gonna add the rest of the ingredients and i'll be right back okay so now we're going to add two and a half cups of flour but just half i'm supposed to sift it okay just gonna add half and half a teaspoon of salt i'm just going to sift that lick a cheese okay i'm going to add half of my cup of milk one cup of milk okay and i'm gonna just gently mix through there we go and i'll just repeat with the rest of the flower and the milk okay just until you see it's combined there we go i'm not using the mixer now because i don't want to overwork flower it will create this big a bubbles and make the cake tough and now the rest of the flour so remember two and a half cups of it's just plain cake flour guys here we go and the rest of the milk okay and now we mix this through and this will then eventually go into my prepared tin by kitten my oven is eating nice preheating 180 degrees celsius it's not on fan it's just normal baking okay now i'm going to lift it so that milk at the bottom gets moved through and walk through okay nice there we go nice final stir get all that milk at the bottom like a cheese man there we go and my last ingredient is the baking powder that's three teaspoons three little teaspoons there we go let's work this through you can add the baking powder with your flour make it there we go shelly's standing next to me learning he's looking thank you my baby and now pour this is gonna bake for about 35 minutes or until you insert a skewer of course on top it will be nice and golden brown and when you insert a skew or knife and it comes out clean and then it's done the cake will cool off completely and then of course we'll do the next step and that's coating it with a chocolate sauce and then covering it with nice desiccated coconut everybody just go get rid of give it a final tap sorry guys and this is going into the oven and we'll be right back okay guys the cake is out of the oven i did test already but i'll show you how you must do it you take a knife and just do it the center and if the knife comes clean it's done so this was in the oven for about you go for 35 to 40 minutes depending on your oven so you can also touch it and you see it doesn't go your fingers don't go deep in nice sponge this will cool off completely until it's stone cold and then we're gonna do the chocolate sauce and then we're gonna dip it in there and then we're gonna do the coconut and then yo i'm talking about this i'm saying and then and then because i'm blessing shelly i'm blessing for the lamingtons and then i couldn't do it okay you guys know what i mean okay we'll be right back hello guys we're back and now we're going to make the chocolate sauce i'm on the other side of the kitchen on the island and i'm just gonna add a cup of milk i'm just pouring it that's just gonna walk through i'm also gonna add butter three tablespoons of butter okay go okay then i'm just gonna let this come to actually just warm up a bit okay guys now that's nice and melted i'm gonna add one and a half cups of icing sugar it's one cup that's half a cup and then also half a cup of cocoa powder a nice good quality cocoa powder i'm going to stir this through and also some vanilla essence okay about a teaspoon i'm just going to stir until it becomes a nice sauce okay so the sauce i just stir it so it's nice and combined and smooth and then now i'm just going to let this cool off and then the next step is when we just finish off the lamingtons okay guys i've cut the the cake into a squeeze ideally it's for four centimeters wide now and now we're gonna just do our thing there we go there's our coconut the chocolate sauce and the squeeze and now we're just gonna dunk dip and maybe finish now now okay guys so let's start get this nice squeeze just show you the beautiful crumb look at that it's so soft so now i'm gonna dunk it in the chocolate sauce just all sides and you're gonna get you're gonna get a bit messy but that's fine and i was supposed to i just haven't been my baby here's just one hand for it i'm just gonna put some coconut oil look at that so this width you know this is for my drive okay dunk dunk dunk and dunk then into a coconut dry hand just spread it over you can also toast your coconut day in a pan see this nice and now we're just gonna carry on with the lamingtons until we finished and we'll be right back okay there it is guys let me just cut one through so you can see what it looks like inside nice and soft looking looky there it is guys the limitations finished beautiful crumb soft and look at that there we have it lamingtons easy peasy you can try it it's um a favorite um i think the next video i'll show you my future videos how to do the ones where we decorate with you know yeah in captain we love to put on fish cream and different toppings and i'll show you that hope you enjoyed this video and i'll be back again with another video soon bye everyone ah
