Personally I would take an Perfomante over an EVO. The all wheel steering is something I'd want though.

I guess the one saving grace of not having the money for such a machine is never having to deal with the infotainment and steering wheel controls. Oof, those are a hot mess.

[Music] welcome to a new Harry's garage video and this one is going to feature the Lamborghini Huracan Evo Spyder I've driven the hurricane before but not in the latest Evo form and not in spider form convertible form and I've been lucky enough to have this car for about three weeks over-over crispy to really get to know it where this sits in the range there was the hurricane performance that really set a new standard for the jr. Lamborghini supercar crazy performers lifted engine 640 horsepower and clever aerodynamics and on to feo our tires did amazing lap times etcetera around the North's life under seven minutes and then there was a feeling I think within Lamborghini could we use this engine but in a less hardcore version and that's where the hurricane Evo comes in so it's got the performance engine and just as anymore that's all usable Road focus sort of category the the price is slightly lower as well than perform on tape this car is 218,000 standard I'll go round the options in a moment which makes it about 20,000 pounds more than the coupe a so how have I got on with this car well it's been an interesting few weeks let's go now with a closer look as ever with Lamborghini there's the craziness of the design and that continues with the hurricane it just gets better those sort of cat's eyes of it that sort of pouncing looks as though it's going crazy speed standing still it's just a bit of I mean real fun you want a WOW factor of Lamborghini and this hurricane Evo continues that trend I mean the rake on that front screams it's remarkable I can't think of a lower car than that it's really emphasizing this spider form and the high bustle at the back it's on 20-inch wheels p0 on this it's our four - five - four five thirty section at the front and 305 30 section at the rear what gets me is this carbon brakes as standard black calipers on this car you choose your caliper when you color when your spec in the car and yeah it's nice that it's not on winters I've really been able to use the reports this car and wow isn't it some performance or we'll get to when we get onto the road but we're 640 horsepower that performance a engine is just magic I also weighed this car because well Honda gain is one of those companies that only leave you dry weights I think it's 15 42 car kilos they declare on this car when I weighed it it was sixteen seventy six kilos a fair uplift from where the dry weight is look at the front you have a well a little bit it's 70 litres in here so less than half the size of that McLaren we had but these are quite fun these are the little sort of tool kits you get or a Lamborghini I love these these white gloves so you get the same on the Countach with Lamborghini this in here there's just a little few tools in there etc and I also like this badge here and it tells me the color of this car I'm not gonna say in my worst Italian language but it's nine half thousand pound option this rather vibrant orange on this car it's gonna hold up around the back now I'd love to show you the engine but will you get on the hurricane spider is this flap that opens up here these are the two air intakes and here is it's a dry sump system so this is your oil way check your oil etc but the engine is out down further forward and because it's because it's the spider-verse that's where the soft top and if I do open the back up or you just get a plate over it so the engine I'm afraid on this car you can't see but what I really want to show you he's inside because there's a story when you're sitting in this car there's a problem I couldn't get over this car he's when I get eaten first thing I want to do is put the seat back I know I discover no the seat is all the way back so I'm just so close to the pedals and the wheel and it just feels wrong and I think well backrest so I put that all the way down no it stops there and I can't tell you how compromise I just want the seat to go way back and I thought I was going mad and then I got the tape measurer house what I'm gonna do I'm gonna measure from the brake pedal to the back of the seats I don't ever even see the tape measure is against the brake there I would say there's the brake pedal there it's back to see about 96 centimeters there you go right now that is just a number let's just see how that compares to some other cars in the garage all cars to having the Gerizim and I have a Ferrari 16m here and I throw this in so there we go put the tape against the brake on this car and in the back of the seat and that is a hundred and fifteen centimeters and just think of the difference there is there 115 centimeters plays 96 that's how far back the seat goes in this Ferrari compared to that Lamborghini I know I thought wow that's mad no wonder I want to put the seat further back so I measured the most compromised car in this collection it's gonna have a look at the Countach alright the odd seats in the contest but they're like deck chairs but it's about 105 centimeters there or there abouts so you're just not down there so again it's about nearly ten centimeters better than that hurricane spider I'm better the Elan and the Spree they're all around 105 centimeters so slightly common my ideal is about 112 centimetres I discovered having done this exercise but ninety seven I'm just touching six foot two basically really struggling this hurricane to even drive it I'm a well we'll get onto the road in the moment but I just can't believe how calm it is behind the wheel if you have more than average height to actually have less space than my baby alone this spree and contesse by about 10 centimeters I'm very surprised at that and I would say you need to be anything over about 5 foot eight 5 foot 10 you're gonna struggle in that cuff anyway let's take it on the road because there's some things to really enjoy with that car if you fit in it first thing that greets you is hot I can evoke great script on the dash to say you're in the new car the other thing you notice is the display here infotainment system the old card never had that was this or mix of buttons and knobs stuff there but this is gone this I've started in Strada will come on to that I have Strada sports and corset on the wheel but it's L got the roofer it's drizzly day typically typical UK winter day unfortunately he asleep but insane we're seeing the Aventador and Stephanie up this underneath ear Reversi I just pulled that up by their I think backwards oh I just press a paddle and I go forwards all very clever starts off in also right I'm going to just disappear go at the village and you know join me as we're just headed into Burfoot first thing you discover he's here to get going in the hurricane hits no sir it's a good car for going slowly off the aventador that always immediately sort of feels funny clumsy and the gearbox is sort of hesitating things hurricane it's just this smaller package and it's got that your clutch transmission and it just gets on with the business of getting into town and doing traffic much better than the event just feels better sorted the drivetrain that in auto mode is actually quite impressive your tight I mean up are the roof filter is drift out sighs I'm right in the roof that my head is touching the headlining and it all works got one thing like Ferrari Lamborghini have put all the controls on the way of concluding he indicates wipers stuck it's okay here go around these jokes like this they self cancel a century but when you come to around about and it all goes wrong with the indicator remember taking my test but I seen around me all the I what you meant to do call in highway code these indicate your exit after you pass the junction up before the one you're leaving at it's been a while since I took my test bike it's just what you do isn't it he ran around map turning right here right I want to indicate I'm turning left always the indicator gone I have to look down and use this silly thing on the spoke of the steering wheel and go the other way the same control as I get on my motorbike wait works fine because you're gripping the handlebar and your hand doesn't move do your thumb good but on ambiguity you cannot do it without looking down and sliding this little thing the right way no it's just not on Ferrari do it they have left and right on left spoke and right spoke so you do less looking at the steering wheel to do indicators than I find I do on this Lamborghini but basically no one else is putting indicators wipers and things on their steering wheels apart from lambic in Ferrari and I'm sure Lamborghini are only doing it because Ferrari did it McLaren don't do it they have wonderful stores that work perfectly Porsche do that as well why does Lamborghini think it has to do this the only reason Ferrari put things on the steering wheel was because Montezemolo wanted close links between the f1 cars and the road cars and the f1 car has all the controls on the steering wheel because there's nowhere else to put them in an f1 car that is all completely wrapped out and there's you know no space for all the buttons I can still understand Montezemolo from a marketing point of view but Lamborghini isn't in f1 it has a nice layout there's no reason why it to couldn't do stop sniffing McLaren can do it well I'm sorry I mean used to be able to do and things like the headlights I've got a button here for headlights by flash press it wants it flashes oh the other thing you've got to turn the lights on there's no water lights in this car so I turned the lights on down here and I'm actually want the headlights to come on I have to press and hold to put the headlights on if I want to dip when summers coming towards me no often it's nothing automatic I have to press and hold until they carry out the game if I just touch it they just flash I don't know wipers are here but if I haven't if I'm on my soapbox I'm gonna grumbles it's all very nicest new system here infotainment and havin it's sounds good but if I want to do volume I have to look down press a thing that looks like a speaker and then put the volume up and down on this thing here all the time looking down there why can't I have it nope that control the volume like every other car but not in Lamborghini no no you're gonna have to do it down here I've read somewhere it's got gesture control I've tried everything why way even at it nothing seems to put it into life so I'm not sure about that one it's just I know Lamborghini said you know they've always been there's something that needles but yeah I could do both house this many just when going slow it has one saving grace zone which we'll get to see in a moment the best button on the steering wheel is this one down here they've got lit up at the moment stroud flick it down would get sport wanna go completely hearing and I go to course our track I'm not against sport sportiveness the valves open on the exhaust he severely sort of most deeper bellow against sportive moorings on there engine management system please contact work so that's not very good start see if I put it into Frank man is he going to go away I don't have to stop this car and restart I still read note wicked what's like with you the guy's a motorbike is coming out [Applause] [Music] that wakes you up the slip the dry train of this car off the scale Gert oh you can still hear me but it's just one of this beaten only pointy leaders always been in the gay Ardo office we know in the Audi r8 as well it's magic magic engine at the last RA I had out it was fantastic it's just turned up to 11 in this thing [Music] there is Rize Bobby unser more than this engine against almost enough to get me to forget about the things I was mentioning when we were just coming through birth [Music] also near the Huracan Evo is four-wheel steer which it's very subtle it just makes a handy that most solid in what I'm most impressed with is how they set up the damping I've gone back to Strada the ride on this is borderline good it shouldn't be good at all on such an aggressive model but actually it seems to generate wait'll real travel that it appears on the outside God knows where that comes from it's just soft there's no hardly any role because they've come are so flippin low to the ground is dry self Disney so that engines super low in the chassis and it's a generally a really good car it's a cover Mulder if it is there isn't quite a good consumption so it's in set it off thirteen point nine mpg so if I can make that a little bit better that's trick one to sixteen point eight mpg it's not its star turn fuel economy on this car as you might imagine Pro node and lap times on their next services 252 days away so very sensible that's all that audience minute or isn't sensible it's just what it sounds like and trying to control your speed in this thing is the hardest job on earth you want to taste that upper in that wildness from about 7000 rpm on to a tart it goes crazy this engine at that reps [Music] it's good rates are amazing as well I think it's because they've gone that race program so they've developed this car we use it that but there's a confidence in sparring dynamics to this car that I really don't remember from early kr days hurricane sort of bettered it is always on the safe side but this just feels why would an exciting exactly what I want to happen either feel sound like guys that hard not to enjoy yourself in its girth I say just the aventador has a completely different feel to the events - I love the event at all but I have to say is a pure drive machine this is better [Music] so summarizing this hurricane evo spider we have to start I suppose with the downsize cabin we've Asterix you have to be a certain size to fit in this car as I've explained I find I can do about 40 minutes in this car and if my left leg is dead just had enough and I'm really surprised that it's like this in 2020 to come out and such a compromised car as this coupe a by the coupe a if you're taller who wants spider go by McLaren or Ferrari I can't really live with this boot space in touring etc you get he's got a small boot but it is tiny probably because of the four-wheel drive they're just announcing lead a two wheel drive version this maybe that's the one to have these controls are driving me nuts as well it's sort of you'd be take out the roundabouts then it's not so bad you don't drive at night it's not so bad to spin like the seat is not so bad if you drive with with a roof down it's much better with the roof down but then again I've got and of the wear them still windscreen comes to top the windscreen it's sort of so I have the Sun visors down all the time in this car it's a bit of busy isn't as great as he is on the McLaren yeah and then the price I didn't go through the option is the car's got nose lift on it it's got an ant's stereo system the seats are antsy and an extra two thousand seven hundred plus back extra the electric seats go for these sport seats which are manual same once again the performance II that does yield some extra centimetres and you need every centimeter going this car auto with the extras this car is two hundred seventy two thousand pounds and that's just nudging the prize are evicted or s for you I know which one are timeout those two the positives thinking of the positives just maintain meet celebrate 22 litres 640 horsepower rims to a alarm it's enough the last piece master a gearbox that eazy-e is good with what's happening and going electrification we're going to look back on this sort of drivetrain in it's Baker Baker drivetrain carving is in top five for me for a normally aspirated engine 123 horsepower per liter responsive Ottoman aureus four-wheel drive and the four-wheel steer you can go very quickly in this car it's an upside and a downside because you end up going a bit to illegal for my liking to really enjoy this car before his electric car you just dips into the twos I think 260 so be three seconds and probably six seconds to 100 with the roof off the little window at the back over to demonstrate the roofs at night the roof can operate at down to 30 miles an hour here we go there it goes Wow [Music] so clever the way cars will do this now and you just get to enjoy the noise even more really civilized convertible though brought needed the others little happens behind them each seat not normal glass window so I controlled with this good as it gets so love Lamborghini I love everything about and I've walked into this car as well but I can't because I'm just the wrong size to fit in it unfortunately the car is not for me this car and I think it's a bit pricey but if you're the right size and you do fit and you want to enjoy one of the last of the wildest normally aspirated engines on the sale in 2020 then the hurricane is for you and I wish you have great times together in for many years because this car takes some beating it's just a sensory overload so long as you fit so there you go hope you enjoyed this video if you have or keep watching Henry's garage because of you
