could have been he could have been professor west point but he gave all of that up to write songs in 1965 he moved to nashville and he was here to pitch songs and went to work as a night janitor and he joined a new generation of renegade songwriters who challenged the conservative country music establishment and here are just some of the songs that chris christopherson has given us through the years ladies and gentlemen mr ray price [Music] [Applause] [Music] don't look so sad i know it's over but life goes on and this old world will keep on turning [Music] let's just be glad we had some time to spend together there's no need to watch the bridges that we're burning lay your hands up on my pillow hold your warm and tender body close to mine hear the whisper of the raindrops blowing song against the window and make me believe you love me one more time for the good times [Music] i'll get along you'll find another and i'll be here if you should find you ever need me don't say a word about tomorrow or forever [Music] when you leave me [Music] lay your hands [Music] close to mine [Music] hear the whisper of the raindrops blowing soft against the window [Music] and make me feeling of her fingers on my skin wiping out the traces of the people and places that i've been teaching me that yesterday was something that i never thought of trying [Music] talking off tomorrow the
