- Here we go. (blows) Now see it's stuck on there? - Yeah. This feels good. (crew laughing) Feels so good. (crew laughing) (whimsical instrumental music) Hi! - Hi. - My name is Celine, what's your name? - Monica. - Nice to meet you. - You too. - So what do you do? - I am an acupuncturist. Do you know what acupuncture is? - If you have pain in some of your body. - It influences your endocrine system which is the chemicals inside your body and your nervous system. - If guys kicked in the, private part, do they get acupuncture? - You would get acupuncture if you had pain in any part of your body, including your private area. - Do you think kids can do it? - Actually kids get acupuncture a lot. I've treated some very young kids and also some teenage kids. Do you have any injuries that might need some acupuncture? - Maybe scratching. - Some scratches? Maybe today we'll even do a little acupuncture. - Ooh. - [Monica] It'll be really fun. - Yay! - Yes! Would you be interested in seeing a model that has all of the acupuncture points on it? - Yes. - Look at that! Wanna hold him? All those little numbers are acupuncture points. - Even right here? - Yup, even right there. I don't do acupuncture in that spot. - He should wear some clothes so he doesn't show his inappropriate parts. Does he have a name? - I've never named him. Do you wanna give him a name? - Sure. Bob. - Bob. Maybe we could try acupuncture on your leg, for your rash. - Like right here? - [Monica] To make your rash better. Should we do it? - Sure. - It itches a lot. Yeah and then. - You have a lot of itchy, okay. - Oh yeah. Oh my gosh. - It's actually gonna be right here. Okay, so we clean the points off. Now, I'm gonna put my acupuncture needle inside this little straw, called a guide tube, and tap it. There we go. Feel that funny little achy feeling? - Yeah. - [Monica] That's what's making the heat come out of your leg. - It feels like a little pinch when she puts it in. - If you look very closely, you can see that they are vibrating like this. Can you see it? - Yes. - I see it. - Cool. What's the candle for? - The candle is used for this technique called cupping. And that's when you create suction inside of a glass cup and then you suck it on to a part of the body that has bad circulation. (match tapping) (cup thunks) (Monica blows) There it is. It's connected through suction. In acupuncture college they actually teach you to stimulate the needle by flicking. - Ow, don't do that please. (crew laughing) - I won't do it again. You ready to take 'em out? - Yeah. - Okay. There's one, there's two. - (sighs) I feel relaxing. (crew laughing) - Can I put one in you? - No you can't. - Aww. - The reason is, you're not supposed to unless you get your acupuncture license. - I wanna feel what it feels like with the suction cup. - We could do that. (match hisses) Okay. - Whoa. - Here we go. (Monica blows) - Now see how it's stuck on there? - Yeah. This feels good. (crew laughing) Feels so good. (crew laughing) - So you can just pop it off whenever you're ready. You just pull it right off. (cup plops) Yeah. (Celine giggles) (crew laughing) - Thank you Miss Monica. - Thank you. Aww.
