welcome back to another quick tip in this video i'll show you how to render out your scene with a completely transparent background whether that's a still image or animation you can create a transparent background directly from keyshot open the render dialog and under output head over to the format section with the exception of the jpeg format you can use any of these listed file formats to create a transparent image just be sure to check the box next to this drop down to include alpha an alpha channel is a separate color component that essentially defines the transparency settings for certain colors or selections with this enabled you'll get a clean transparent final image like this but if you notice that the background color of your scene is affecting the shadows and edges of your model in the final output try switching to a black or white color background instead this should fix those colored shadows and edges now for an animation there isn't a video format with alpha transparency so you have to output frames with alpha in this case i'll render out png frames and then compile them into a separate video editing program the transparency will be preserved and you'll end up with an animation like this which you can then place in front of any background you want thanks for watching this keyshot quick tip leave a comment below with your thoughts and subscribe for more helpful content if you enjoyed this video give it a like and share with your friends [Music]
