Kendrick vs. Drake Explained (to my mom)

[Music] all right hello I got my frog girl online and I am explaining the Kendrick versus Drake beef to my mother and family on Mother's Day May 12th 2024 and excuse my mother dying in the background she's sick all right so okay first let's introduce the relevant players first we got kendri glore who's our rapper also known as K do why is his name k do I I don't know okay one his name he calls by is K do Kendrick something Kendrick do Kendrick period maybe he has a middle name that starts with a d who knows knows again we got Drake whose legal name is Aubrey gr Aubrey yes okay we got jcole who's a rapper we got Metro boomman who's so the music producers involved too yes okay met boomman who's a music producer and we got future who's another rapper how did he get involved you'll see in a second okay Metro booming okay so Drake and Kendrick weren't always beefing and in fact they used to collab we have the Buried Alive interlude by Drake which featured Kendrick in 2011 and we have Poetic Justice by Kendrick freering Drake in 2012 and in 2012 Drake fought for Kendrick to be an opening act on his Club Paradise tour okay well they were friends then friendly I'm friendly terms at least professionally but then control 2013 so control 2013 then excuse me then in 2013 Kendrick featured on a song called controlled by Big Sean in the song Kendrick plays himself amongst well respected rap figures like Nas Andre 3000 and Eminem he then says that new rappers shouldn't get involved list off several rappers including Drake and Big Sean and then says I got love for you all but I'm trying to murder you wait but it was on Big Sean song dissing big on his he dis big Big Sean on his own song my goodness why would he put put that out there then I wouldn't have even put that on that album actually actually it was just like friendly type of stuff it was like a friendly thing but still nonetheless he he did his big sh shot on his own song okay and then Drake responds in an interview with Bill booy saying I didn't really have anything to say about it I I guess we can revisit the topic after this Kendrick and Drake Take minor shots at each other but no major conflicts okay is it friendly or they really mad friendly business we's see friendly business okay okay so like friendly competition we'll say that okay and then some additional background info is that in a previous beef between Drake and a rapper named pushy t pushy T revealed that Drake has a son that the public didn't know about after this Drake started showing his child in public and Drake's son is named Adonis but why is that a big deal because he because because Adonis is already was like like almost two years old at that point and he basically he was seemed like he was trying to hide him from everybody maybe he didn't want the public in his son's face maybe it El put your teammate seem like he was a dead be maybe he just wanted to keep protect his family from the public you know was in his family was a love child oh no it wasn't no yes he was not oh I see a love well okay so is Drake married and had just he just out there just be living a rapper life or whatever all right then on October 6 2023 Drake released firsters shooter featuring jcole in this sign jcole says love when they what love when they argue The Hardest MC is it K do is it Aubrey or me we The Big Three like we started the league and many rap fans refer to Kendrick Drake Drake and J CLE as the big three meaning that they're the best three best rappers all right and then on March 21 future and Metro blooman released like that that has they had Kendrick as a surprise feature Kendrick this is J call and Drake in his verse saying mother F The Big Three it's just big me and Kendrick makes several references to first person shooter throughout his verse this starts the 2024 beef and then several other artists dis Drake after this okay so question why did he do that why did he do that wait do you think that he really has that big of an ego or does he have something personal neither I think it's neither I think it's literally just business and that's what rappers do yeah dising other rappers is kind of just what other rappers do well they don't want to take it too far they going to learn from the late 90s yeah but it was like it was just banter at this point okay well and I think secretly a lot of people don't like Dr oh yeah we'll get to that why we'll get to that M okay trust me we are going to get to that okay all right then on April 5th jcole releases seven minute drill as a response to Kendrick but a few days later the song gets deleted off of plat streaming platforms jco then apologizes to Kendrick and removes himself from the beef so now it's just Drake and Kendrick Okay so why does jco feel the need to apologize to Kendrick if he's just saying that you're not part of the big three is just me and we're going to get at one point everybody had the same question he he wrote a song but he wrote a this song in response but then he but he took it back he's like I don't want I don't want to be a part of this basically so so he took his this on off back and then apologized he go back he he said he's still cool with he don't want no be so he's being the bigger person in a true professional okay well in the Rock game not professional why would you do that like the Rock and Ro actually is a badler yes so really this might be just a friendly banter that's just we are going to get to that okay okay I'm listening and then on April 19th Drake responds to Kendrick and Metro boomman in his song pushups he makes fun of Kendrick for having small feet and then says he has a bad deal with his record label and has to do whatever they say such as doing a song with Taylor Swift he also tells Metro to shut up and make some drums he also addresses the other artists that dists why is everybody dissing Drake anyway we will get to that okay and then on the same day Drake releases Taylor Made freestyle where he says that Kendrick needs to get Taylor Taylor's approval before he releases music he also says that Kendrick is taking too long to make a response he then used an AI he used AI to make a Tupac verse and a Snoop Dog verse but then Tupac's estate threatened to sue him so the song was removed from all platforms and did he get um permission from Snoop Dog do you with this AI thing you still have to get permission he must he he obviously didn't get um permission from Tupac estate so he probably didn't get um permission from Snoop Dog either no he just did it oh my on April 30th Kendrick released Euphoria where he Liv list off a bunch of things that he hates about Drake says that Drake doesn't like women says he's insecure about his Blackness calls him a liar manipulator and a terrible father and a notable quote from this song is don't tell lies about me and I won't tell truths about you Euphoria I think Drake is like a producer on that show yes on the um HBO show Euphoria Drake is a an executive producer oh now now every time somebody up foral this going to pop up instead oh my goodness how funny and the show was about like teenagers doing a lot of doing a lot of crazy mess yeah Oh my he also said don't nobody want we don't want to hear you say the N word anymore okay cuz it's a it's a viral video about when Dr was younger he said the first he wasn't even that young he was like 24 so yeah he said he was he said the N word but he used a hard E when he said it was like the e oh no like a white person saying it maybe that's his Canadian accent maybe no they don't they don't do that okay and then on May 3d Kendrick releases 616 616 in La where Kendrick says that someone in someone in OBO which is Drake's record label is working for him and telling him information he also says that several people close to Drake are plotting against him why get to that we'll get to that and then the cover photo you see this cover photo is of a mayback music glove remember that okay BR a question this this is not about that have you been getting like these weird things where you try to like look up something and be like oh we're getting weird we're getting weird uh traffic from your computer network and they didn't want to take if I'm not a robot oh no I are you a robot are you a robot ja I'm not looking up anything weird either so why do I keep I don't know about that you're kind of a weird individual Jazz well also on May 3rd Drake releases Family Matters where he claims that Kendrick his wife by saying when you put your hands on your girl is it self-defense because she's bigger than you and then he also claims that one of Kendrick's kids is actually his managers he further says that Kendrick is a fake activist with the line always rapping like you about to free the slaves no always rapping like you about to get the slaves free that's how that's the exact line oh okay well yeah he came back punching he punched back okay all right but on the same day less than an hour after Family Matters released uh Kendrick releases meet the ground that's in this song Kendrick addresses every single member of Drake's family individual starting with his son Adonis that's not cool he reveals that Drake has a secret 11-year-old daughter he also accuses Drake of several serious crimes such as being a child and trafficking e okay I mean he said addresses every single member he actually wrote a letter to every single member of his he he wrote a letter to his son his mom Dennis dad like dear Dennis I'm sorry your dad suck Dear baby girl you had to watch us when you get older but uh I'm sorry I'm sorry that your grandfather didn't wear the cover photo is an expansion of the 616 and la photo where several items belonging to Drake are shown are shown including OIC and prescription bottle for super medications with Drake's legal name on it oh my to his secret anybody now you can't put person's prescription medication went through his trash though that's not cool we will get to that Mama you know what can our leaders get involved now where is um um um Al shop who is help something oh my what wait what you don't know who is that somebody called J [Music] R okay and then on May 4th Kendrick reles not like us which is a catchy Club song He outright calls Drake further emphasizes it by saying trying to strike a core and it's probably a minor um Oh my he also says that he also says that Drake colonizes Atlanta for money and his own image and not like us broke a record for most single day for most um single day rap song streams on Spotify surpassing Drake and he listed out everybody in Atlanta that he worked with try to get his rep up or whatever y you're not you're not a colleague of colonizer oh my God oh my good he is hidden below very much so always been rooms online Rick always always talking around why Kendrick so angry oh because Drake Drake start Drake he Drake mentioned his family first he wasn't G he wasn't going to take it that far he even said he was going to keep it PG until Drake mentioned Kendrick's family in push-ups and also when not like us got released not even three hours later they were already playing in the clubs my goodness and then they played it um you know during like you know basketball games where they about to cut the commercial they played not like us super catchy though super D super it's unbelievable mostly dance steps in there want to play I'm going to play you this time later okay he's number one on on say Char she forgot she you forgot to imtion that's Drake's house oh this picture this is Drake's house and allegedly this is a screenshot from like some sort of like a warning list that tells you about like registered Defenders that's Drake's house and there are like several P that's supposed to to that's supposed to represent like everybody in his OB was show taking the spotlight off of that other guy and he was talking about he was talking about he did yeah everybody talking about p p okay let me guess are you GNA get to that too okay but any and then on May 5th Metro booming comes back and made a beat called BBL Drizzy by sampling comedian King wonus the beat mocks Drake for having plastic surgery done and Metro said that whoever made the best verse on the beat gets a free beat from him inviting the public to join the beef and $10,000 oh yeah then he later said that he he later said that the first place winner would get $110,000 and a free beat and the runner up would get a free beat many aspiring rappers dis Drake on this beat many many many see roses are red with the surgery they're specifically talk about him having like Ab Surgery to make it like he has AB hypo or something got the ab put people was like oh the scars when you get that the scars when you get that type of surgery done like similar to the scars that you would get if you had a BBL done so that's why they call them BBL Jersy oh my okay this is um oh this song yeah and then later that same day Drake relased St Heart part six he says that Kendrick's claims are fake and that Drake and his team fed Kendrick false information he says that Kendrick is obsessed with calling him a because Drake was because Kendrick was and hold on wait and it brings up Kendrick song's mother I sober however in mother I sober Kendrick said that he wasn't but his mother kept repeatedly asking him if he was BEC and didn't believe him when he said no because she was projecting her trauma onto him that was the whole point of mother I so and then after this song released hash NRE trended on Twitter with many users using the hashtag to say that they did not like this off I don't know if you're going to bring this up later on in the uh in the slid show but also in that song um he brought up allegations about the by specifically naming the person Kendrick never named but everybody kind of s suspected because of well you probably is it going start no I just say it was CU basically when mil actress Millie Bobby Brown was a minor it got revealed like yeah it was a it got revealed that them two were texting each other strer from stranger it got revealed that her and Drake were texting each other and hanging out while she was a mind okay 14 why would in Hall was he like what 30 I think so like 30 yeah he was like near 30 sound weird it sounded weird and then he named willly Robert Brown and saying that he never did anything with her but thing Kendrick never mentioned her so after the Heart part 6 none of the artists involved have released any music related to the beef so at least on the music side of things it seems like it's over m however however however okay on May 7th 2024 there were reports of a shooting outside of Drake Toronto's Mansion which led to a security guard getting seriously injured as of today no connection to the r rat beef has been made wow all right and then on May 7th # Metro groming tended on Twitter Twitter were old tweets of Metro groomman joking about being a joking about doing non-consensual things to women and saying inappropriate things about miners resurfaced someone made a Metro grooming beat in response and they're kind of sort of old you can see that twe from 2011 yeah this twe from 2011 still but nonetheless he said that stuff yeah while he's talking okay yeah it's just kind of hypocritical basically yeah and then on made 10 the alleged o the alleged mole in OVO comes forward on Twitter previously DJ academics who's close to Drake said that someone from from Drake's team told him that the items on the meet the grams cover photo were stolen from Drake's father's suitcase the mole said that Kendrick isn't lying he's not a thief and that Drake and DJ academics have until the 13th to retract their claims of theft or he'll take legal action he then shows a closeup video of all the items on the me the Gram's cover photo he then posts a screenshot of home security footage saying may this photo help jog your memory as to where you discarded those items yeah well that makes me uh remember before I throw away my empty medication bottle scratch my name off or remove the label or something but to be fair mom you're not an international famous rapper so well yeah but I'm saying what if if it was his dad his dad probably wasn't thinking about it I don't know no the mo said that that was a lie um the mole said that that was a lie okay I could explain more as to why everybody doesn't like drink why because as he was first coming up when he was doing he was doing his own thing and people try to tell him like Hey just be yourself you know just keep singing for ladies don't try to get don't try to like pretend like you're like some fake th gangster but uh every time like he would uh like find somebody he like put them on basically like TR to uh like uh make them famous or whatever but it it it eventually started to show up P like no it be more like oh he would just take their he would take their flow and move on to the next thing like a lot of rappers that got put on by Drake when they started doing their own thing they didn't they didn't get as much success as before in fact in some cases it would have been better if they didn't get put on by Dr or he just took people's whole song period right or he would just take people song Oh especially like if they end up if they end up signing to his record label a lot of times like they would just end up basically like in a music Sweatshop basically the reason was that the people be like he ain't real he not a real he yeah a lot of a lot of this songs that Drake Kendrick was doing too saying like you ain't you ain't being real you not a real person you not you didn't grow up black you grew up white Jewish you he ain't grow up in Black neighborhood he so pretty much his whole Persona is right is black stereotypes right it's not about him being mixed like that for real like he ain't from no it's just like he's playing a character he playing a character pretty much say pretty much all them songs too you just you nothing but a character one cover art did when he was doing that beef with [ __ ] T he literally he literally did black face when I say black face he h his face with the photo shoot back in the day too I guess he was trying to say it was for some to how black face he said it was trying to Bear how black face was bad or whatever but it looked bad it looks he was like had the full on he had the full on black face with the everything makeup with the smile Lal multiple videos
