Ken Block Goes Flat Out In the Rain Rutted Stages & Sketchy Jumps - Ojibwe Forest Rally.

that was incredible wow oh and we are back for another installment of rally action and party hey we're here at ojibwe forest rally what is this what is the actual town we are right now nice no idea i can't okay yes we're staying in detroit lakes it's we're kind of all over the place there's a couple different areas of forests that we actually race in and the service area kind of moves around and our hotel's way far away okay cool i was a bit confused and i couldn't pronounce any of the names of the city uh a task for bemidji the rally is called the ojibwe forest rally so yeah minnesota stuff where is pancakes house what we stop at pancakes as all right ken this rally last time you were here you walked away with a win almost here it's 2013. it's my only one at this rally i've always uh i've had some good results here struggled here but that's that's rally but this time it's a little different it's wet we've never actually i don't think i've ever been here with it being wet so that's quite different it does not look like summer in minnesota right now it actually looks like in the forest it looks like we're in england in these dark wets so it's so wet we that butch had to dig a moat around just to channel water off now is this standard operating procedure to build a moat or what it's pretty well rally procedure we're rallying now we do party on it yeah and it stopped a little bit stopped raining temporarily but it was raining on wreck yesterday we're able to note a bunch of like the slippy areas but like today it's actually rained a lot more so it's going to be really quite interesting but yeah i'm so too clear uh obviously the last rally was really disappointing battling for the lead had a little piece in the gearbox break and that ended a very good rally uh so hopefully that's all fixed we had a good shakedown a few days ago and yeah ready to get rallying today let me ask you a question some of the more like technical spots on this rally is there anything that kind of stands out to you that's like going to be kind of gnarly with all this rain uh well there's one stage that's actually that we raised tomorrow on saturday that's the whole stage was very slippery it was all very covered it wasn't very sandy it was just dark dirt so that's going to be like ice skating tomorrow but today the stages are very sandy there are very like flowy stages a lot of tighter corners linking all together and that's what makes this rally kind of unique there isn't a lot of long straightaways there's a few tomorrow but there's just a lot of technical linking turns all the different stages so you'll be good looking forward to it first stage and what is it the fourth stage or the fifth today that has the jump it is yeah so it's four stages today repeated so the first and fifth stage which is the first stage today and then the re-running of that stage has a nice jump in it i don't remember doing it years ago but we'll see the problem is it jumps into a short straightaway into a fast left corner so you've gotta be ready for that corner and not go into the forest so yeah looking forward to that but it's a good rally good good roads like world rally championship level roads and yeah it's going to be a good battle i think between travis and i yeah so we got we got travis here i just noticed that bucky is across the way here we got a bucky lassic back in an older subaru so it was good seeing him out on rick yesterday seeing him racing here today nice all right we'll tell you what we're gonna go to the jump because we want to watch everybody catch some air and um nice i thought i could jump in a rally car in some sketchy rainy conditions exactly first stage too 150 right over big track all right just shot ken just went by check these rocks that uh ken and travis pulled out here into the middle of the stage someone's gonna have a bad damn one of those duders here right four plus long time 120 long track d2 let's fight in repeat the 5 3 minus long 50 left 4 minus [Applause] line right for michael 439 closer back here for the first service of the day so far currently standing in second place uh with travis in first so far so good apparently getting a little vibration from underneath the car so we're gonna check that out [Music] up um [Music] okay send report effectively 10 out of 10. okay 1 20. long stacks repeat the fight all right so this is a delta which means it's like a little hairpin that the road goes like that and this comes around the road to slow them down look how rough this is it's been cut up because this is the second running of the stage so and if you look at it down low it's actually really gnarly real loose right one plus equal surface change [Music] all right it is day two here at ojibwe forest rally the rain has stopped a little bit for at least the time being but it is supposed to dump all day today currently ken said in second place travis pastrana is in first hopefully we can catch up to him today i don't know it's supposed to dump rain it's going to get sketchy the stages here are incredibly slippery uh but apparently pretty fast and close i mean ken seems like he's having a good time we got seven stages today what's up loose high five come on don't leave me hanging eight stages eight stages eight stages there three real stages and two super specials right yeah they're not so super it's not so stupid okay so you heard it so i hate stages today anyway hey we got our new hoodies out bam you can buy this at hoonigan.com wow look at that fresh crispy and it's kind of like a mid-weight hoodie there you go product plug get you some let's get to racing four three two one three fifty okay right four possibly sharp kick titan sharp kick titans here open fifteen uh all the water on the stage all the rocks that have been pulled out and this is so slippy i can barely walk on it all right little update here it's uh it's raining hard hard still rain it's been raining non-stop two hours heavy rain they just kind of fall [Music] [Music] [Applause] into finish 150 long plastic to stop [Music] [Music] this new rotiform gravel wheels are looking extra mint here's the deal first service of the day so far ken is holding second place but he's won the first two stages today so we're moving we're grooving we're cooking aren't we cooking we're cooking cooking with grease baby we've got four more stages to go next stage up is the land bridge apparently it's beautiful i think we're gonna go check it out see if we get some shots there let's go [Music] all right check this out we got some rallying going on here we got uh some dudes in a pontoon boat a guy wearing pajama pants on a sea dude we got these these two here one of which is in a tree and then we got uh mr ben the photographer over here who's actually trying to get into a tree big jump 150 left five over set open 150 big press 20 left five plus titans little big press twenty to five plus ten [Music] [Applause] wow um let okay 848 tensor [Music] six five four three two one oh right three michaels narrow three minus that was incredible wow okay left here right three minus right [Music] yeah they break away they're making people to do that [Applause] pulled out a second today well this weekend not today actually earned the second yesterday by getting smoked by travis but i gained some back today one most sustainable day but it wasn't enough yesterday bp way too bad he knows this rally i haven't been here since 2013 a lot of good experience so if i come back next year hopefully i could be better it was fun a little quicker made some setup changes i really enjoyed the stages here but uh yeah you need to come back faster and stronger next year if i'm gonna challenge travis anyway congrats travis total chaos here alex and i put in a good effort but not enough to challenge him for the win but good enough for second overall yeah man [Music]
