frustrating for you as a player if you're always losing the ball misplacing passes and so on and trust me I've been there so after playing European football in Spain I'm going to be breaking down the three secrets to help you keep the ball and not lose it when you're under pressure now in case we haven't met yet my name is Mohammad and I went from being an average 15-year-old playing High School soccer in the US to moving halfway across the world to play European football in Spain with the same Professional Academy owned by Ronaldo Nazario now these three secrets I'm about to share with you good first touch cuz let's be honest nothing will make you more nervous than having a poor first touch but when you take a good first touch you will have an advantage when it comes to maintaining the ball whether it's to protect it or whether it's to beat an opponent on your first touch when you have a really good first touch and you have the ability to control the ball using all parts of your body you're not going to lose the ball carelessly typically when I see a player who's losing the ball consistently I can tell they lack in this area which leads to confidence issues and poor performances so here's a simple workout you can try right now to improve your first touch instantly there are six exercises you will do for a total of 5 minutes number one 5 minutes of juggling using only your laces while alternating between both feet number two 5 minutes of throwing the ball up in the air and controlling it with your laces while using both feet number three 5 minutes of wall passing using your inside foot and of course alternating between both feet number four 5 minutes of wall passing while keeping the ball in the air alternating between both feet followed by 5 minutes now remember this is a physical sport and sometimes players are going to run into you or clatter into you and that's part of the game you can't be scared of that you have to learn how to use your body to either protect the ball or use your momentum to draw in a foul the goal is to make it as difficult as possible for your opponent to get near the ball to the point where they know they have to value in order to get it now the third and final secret is to keep your composure and don't panic one of the things that is going to make you lose the ball more than anything else is panicking this is what happens to a lot of players which messes up their first t especially when they're being pressured by a Defender now the only way to build that unshakable confidence is to keep your composure and practice these situations over and over again until you get bored of doing it so have a teammate press you and really have them try and get the ball away from you let them know to keep it game realistic and apply the same level of pressure as they would if you guys were on completely different teams here your goal is to learn how to use your body to Shield the ball specifically when you're under pressure so set a timer and see how long you can keep the ball before your teammate takes it from you you can take turns and turn it into a challenge to see who can keep the possession the
