[Music] catherine mcphee and david foster are in love and they don't care who knows it the couple have been happily celebrating their engagement after quietly dating for over a year their 34-year age gap has been a hot topic of conversation [Music] i'll be your friend hi i'm dave you might know my songs [Music] impersonations of celine dion ever [Music] foreign hey guys happy birthday to you why thank you so much we know what our next live show is going to be it's going to be what is that [Music] like he literally i was cooking in the kitchen and he was like you were mom i was mumbling to fake music there was no music playing he's like he was on the phone with somebody he mutes the phone and he goes i got it last night [Music] is with your smile seeing you for the first time coming down um he did a big it's uh we have video of it his his expression was really sweet it was just like a gasp it was really really really sweet it was everything like every that whole the whole wedding was everything i could have dreamed of even just the way he said you may kiss the bride the way he kissed me was like so just perfect yeah [Music] i've got gadgets and gizmos [Music] there's so many things that can bring a marriage down right it can be finances it can be geography it could be infidelity it could be children it can there's there's 10 things one of them is an age difference but if the other nine things are in place then the age difference is not going to bring you down and we've known each other for 15 years and we evolved slowly too and um and we're just in a great great place and you know we're just [Music] [Applause] happy [Music] to a very trustworthy yes this judgement right here you're going to take my phone whether your wife is telling your daughter whoever can never assume these days [Applause] so what's married life like you're married to david foster one of the nicest men in the business i want to put that out there the best i'm so happy we're um we're just really happy like we just are really i've got a good thing going we started as friends for a long time so i think that that um and we're just a good balance for each other you know we really i love supporting him and helping him and vice versa making the best decisions we can possibly make and being a team it's really it's really great yeah [Music] wow she's ruining our floors [Applause] um when we first started dating we would just come to this piano and i'll keep a better light here let's be honest um and we would sit at that piano and like you know have some 1942 and you play some songs for me and this is one you'd always play it's true late at night [Music] seventy-year-old david met his current wife thirty-five-year-old catherine mcphee when she was a contestant on american idol and he was a guest mentor i know to anybody it's a strange combo because i don't know if you heard it but there's an age difference i have actually david yep there's haters and they'll there always will be but i think the best revenge that that can i could have is just to be together to my dying day and that's certainly something that i love all this [Music]
