okay we're still taking a look at this beautiful modified 1973 Karmann Ghia and the owner's done quite a few things that make this very unique and why it's a show winner so he's going to show us the back seat here and you can see in that area that it's all beautifully carpeted but tell us about what's going on back there electronics are located under this back cover wow look at all that this is a Ron Francis uh wiring okay uh this is uh Summit Racing um for the electronic ignition okay these solo units control the speed of the heater fan okay uh 12 volt heater fans okay that's the buttons for them this is the speed okay and these units control the remote entry okay the um the lift for the engine Bonnet okay and power windows when I had them okay right now the power windows are cranked okay because the uh the motors weren't strong enough to work properly and there is the glass A little bit curved in those the glasses the glass curbs so you have to have uh you know really a special unit okay and uh so if somebody wanted to have that they could get just a stronger unit but now they can crank them right okay absolutely okay right here's another spot I had for the uh little toolbox okay right here okay now tell me again I see you you had those two switches right there oh yes and and what they do and then also the switches that are below that I see three on each side right these control uh uh of access doors okay for the AC uh condenser okay the condenser is loaded located behind this panel right and another bulkhead right two two fans okay these you open these up they're open like that pulls the air in right here okay under it from under the car right through the condenser okay three on the back side okay it dumps the uh air out okay well that's terrific and then you've got the AC unit uh it's located up here in the front and that's an under dash unit which is uh of that vintage it looks like it it is um it's a um it's from Vintage Air okay a dog uh air conditioning system is from Vintage Air okay I see it's a mark IV I think I've heard of those before right it's uh it's actually a uh A reproduction copy of the mark IV Frigidaire okay I think that's what it is okay all all metal okay that's great now Tim you got a tachometer up here got attack on group okay uh with the revolution limiter set uh-huh 6000 RPM okay and um uh and uh shift light okay and the red light over the side there is a like a red line red light I guess uh yeah on the right side okay uh that that's the um um there you go so that's pretty neat and then and now this right here does this come off of it when you're doing the yellow I guess because it's pretty bright yeah yeah so you can see right through when it's when it's time to time to shift that thing and also I noticed down here tell me what about the transmission you say it's a five-speed it's yes it's a uh Gene Berg out of uh California okay a big drag racing outfit um Enterprises okay it's a five-speed conversion where you you uh send them your main shaft and pinion shaft they modify it okay and you you get the use intersection of your uh of your unit okay and a new nose for the fifth gear okay and then you you have the uh fun of putting it together now there's a little button over here yes that button is a line lock and that's kind of like because they're in the drag racing business so that that's interesting too yeah and plus you could be a hill holder that yeah yeah I didn't think about that that's great now I love the leather I love the feel of this leather this is absolutely top-notch tell me about the seats in here okay the seats are out of a 2000 uh Corvette okay uh C5 C5 and they they were black leather uh-huh and the poster um we've we've spent quite some time finding this correct color yeah to match my paint well I saw that if you look at that and you look at the dash you got the same exact color and one is issue one thing about the dash is you know they were vinyl covered okay and that um so they're full of holes yeah so I had a big major job feeling it slicking it out and uh removing all the the vinyl cover as well as on the door sure absolutely yeah that was that vinyl on them also now this steering wheel I can see it looks to me like an adjustable steering wheel right still okay tilt column it's not telescoping just tip okay tilt okay it's from Flaming River okay the uh column steering column and the W joint system Flaming River okay well that's pretty cool well I tell you what there's so much going on in here uh I noticed too what now what is that up above the uh that's your radio antenna radio antennas right up there okay and then back here oh yeah in the back you have a third brake light I have a third brake light there as well as one on the tag okay frame and that's LED it is and then I also notice you've got a roll bar yeah you know it just seemed like it would be a very appropriate and it's a it's functional yeah but it's not you know it's not you're not gonna race with it right but it does give you a little bit more Integrity to the structure kind of let you know you've got a kind of hot car that well yeah that's that kind of goes too why would you do that unless you had a hot car right well that's terrific well I appreciate you showing this video I mean the speakers oh yeah now these are the speakers okay uh and and uh got the four speakers in the in the um in the back or uh uh Kenwood says Okay Okay match the system yeah it's a AM FM cassette I also looked down there CD okay I also look down there and you got some uh custom uh pedals oh yeah yeah those are beautiful well I tell you what this is pretty neat later on when you do a start on this we'll take a look at that beautiful Digital dash there but we'll do that when we do a start on it okay but uh thank you for showing this uh there's so much going on in this car I'm going to have to do a couple videos here to just try to catch uh all the things that are going on thank you very much and we'll get back and show you some more
