so sometimes for the awesome hardware live show that I do with Paul on Tuesdays will do a pimp my PC segment where you guys submit pictures and specs of your personal systems and then Paula tonight will tell you how they look like hot garbage and how to fix them and we do all of that just out of the kindness of our own hearts by now pin my pcs become one of the more popular segments on the show so I figured what the heck maybe this would make a good dedicated pre-recorded video to so that's what we're doing today I'm gonna be taking a look at more of your guys as disgusting systems and hopefully giving you some helpful pointers before diving in today's video is sponsored by keeps the revolutionary new way for men to treat hair loss sadly two out of three guys will experience some form of male pattern baldness by the time they're 35 but don't worry you and your melon don't need to be another statistic keeps offers scientifically proven treatments so people don't mistake you for mr. X a full head doesn't mean an empty wallet E of keeps carries generic versions of the only two fda-approved hair loss products on the market so you can save your hair while saving money the best part is that instead of having to go into a doctor's office you can visit a doctor online and have the product shipped directly to your doorstep even if you haven't experienced hair loss yet using keeps now will save you more hair in the long run so it's better to be proactive than reactive keeps has proven to work and their treatments are up to 90% effective at reducing and stopping further hair loss but don't take my word for it see how keeps has been working for Geralt of Rivia Leon Kennedy and many others if you're ready to maintain or reclaim the hair you deserve head to keeps calm slash bit wit or click the link in the description to receive 50% off your first order that's K EEP Escom slash bit with let's dive right in shall we starting with vo Mestre the aam Mestre upgraded his PC to an AMD Rison v 2600 an msi B 450 tomahawk I don't know how much of this is upgraded or if you just refresh the whole thing Corsair Vengeance LP X 16 gig sapphire nitro rx 580 hyper 212 Evo Samsung 840 Evo SSD two hard drives and an NG xt phantom 410 case so let's take a look at this so far I would say the specs seem pretty balanced I think the first major component upgrade that you would need if you really wanted to help your gaming performance would be the graphics card the rx 580 was really solid choice for a while there I think there's probably better bang for the buck options now but yeah they'd probably be the first main component that I would look to upgrade down the line apart from that though let's talk about it here and maybe even still a bit of performance starting with the cooler now you do have the cooler mounted horizontally with the fan at the bottom presumably pushing air up and through the heat sink to the top of the case which isn't terrible however if you're gaming if you're putting a lot of stress on your GPU and that heats up that heat is gonna come wafting off your GPU go straight into the fan and permeate your heatsink thus potentially compromising your thermals and affecting your temperatures negatively so what I would suggest is actually rotating the cooler 90 degrees clockwise I'm sorry counter clockwise so the fan is on the right side and you have the tower now sitting vertically that way the cooler is more on the direct line of airflow that you already have coming through this case but the intake fan at the front and two exhausts at the rear obviously your mileage may vary but it doesn't cost you anything to rotate that cooler apart for maybe five minutes of your time and if it can help drop a couple degrees off your CPU then I would say go for it aesthetics wise the cooler master hyper 212 Black Edition I think would look a lot nicer in a system like this they really did a bang-up job with that cooler but it's not something that I would spend money on if you already have a decent hyper 212 it doesn't look like there's a lot of intentional direction for a color scheme here it kind of just looks like you think the parts that you want it and they all happen to sort of be neutral tones black gray or white which looks perfectly fine it actually looks really good apart maybe from the power supply stickers that I would suggest for moving if you were looking for a cleaner overall look as this case is much older and doesn't have a PSU shroud let alone a tempered glass side panel which if you go over here you've still got that acrylic window so this is a very dated case you can obviously tell from the outside and the inside but it looks like you've kept it in really good condition maybe you just cleaned it recently for this photo or something but I wouldn't even change the case it still looks like it's in great shape and it even has room for you know a larger GPU if you wanted to upgrade that down the line not exactly sure it's hard to remember what the radiator mounting support is in this case if there is any whatsoever apart for maybe a 120 but you know if you did want to liquid cool down the line maybe that would convince you to swap cases if if the radiator support is limited in this chassis but apart from that if it's working out for you I think it's great looks really nice inside one thing I'd point out is that if this is sort of like a sentimental case to you or you just really like it and you want to continue using it for a long time then maybe kind of run wild with this black and gold theme that you have on the outside you could bring that to the interior as well maybe you know if that's the case you could probably even keep the power supply stickers because they're pretty much gold more or less and you can even get fancy with maybe some spray-paint mods or you know changing some of the LEDs or the one strip of LED that you have here on the motherboard to be more orange or gold looking and maybe even get some custom cables these ones don't look bad especially for stock but if you did throw in some custom sleeved cables or extensions that could really help tie together and defined color theme and make your system pop you get full marks from me on cable management here everything looks like it's routed properly it looks like there's some weird cable going down here but I think that's to your optical drive I see that it's populated in that five and a quarter inch base so I won't knock you for that at all and also I really love how this is just super clean right here you can see clearly behind the motherboard tray and this is the the right side panel but there's not a cable in sight not a cable to be found here just like randomly running across diagonally or something as you often see it's a really nice job therefore the attention to detail was there any other pictures oh yeah here's a nice picture of it so it looks like you've got actually a blue color theme I should probably look through all the pictures before I start commenting and running my mouth but this actually looks really nice you know it's tasteful it kind of just creates a nice even glow around all the components and if you did want to keep this blue lighting around for a while I would again suggest removing the PSU stickers because they kind of clash I think those are all the pointers I've got for your build beyond I don't know if I'm pronouncing your name right sorry if I'm not beyond biom I'm gonna try but just go ahead and make all those changes that I suggested because I am 100 percent right all the time just make sure that you upgrade your GPU first okay let's move on to Steve Steve much much easier name to pronounce thank you Steve risin 530 600 M s IB 450 tomahawk max motherboard Corsair Vengeance 16 gigs at 3000 speed XFX GTS Black Edition rx 580 another 580 I'm about to SSD hard drive and Evo 212 please pray for my pee Cherie ok so right off the bat here this is the hyper 212 black edition that I was talking about which looks really nice although I would want to flip this fan to the right side of the heatsink just so that you cover up the actual thin stack that doesn't usually look very nice in my opinion I'd rather much see spinning fan blades I just think it looks a little nicer and obviously you'd want that fan to be pushing air through the heatsink towards the back of your case to help eject heat hopefully with how you have the fan mounted now it's sucking air through the heatsink and sort a pool configuration and pushing the air towards the rear otherwise at the very least if you're not gonna flip the fan to the other side of the heat sink at least flip the fan itself around so it's not fighting against the other exhaust fans speaking of which I just knows the fans the front are mounted as exhausts you have all exhaust fans in here I'm unsure if that was on purpose or accident I would recommend flipping these to fans because right now the way you have it with all the fans ejecting air and no intake you're essentially creating a ton of negative pressure which is gonna lead to really quick and bad dust buildup which is just gonna be a pain to maintain and also I would be very curious to see what your temperatures are I wouldn't say that they're bad in this in this way necessarily but generally in a case like this the rule of thumb is to have your front fans as intakes moving air across your hot running components like your CPU your GPU your motherboard and then having that era ejected out the back and top of the chassis right now you're just kind of having all the hot air sucked out from every direction with no active intake actually occurring you know you're probably getting some air passively flowing coming in through the the expansion slots here and maybe through your power supply shroud but that's that's not gonna be the same as actually having active fans bringing fresh air into your case great cable management here everything's looking very tidy you got it pretty much as tight as you could the only thing I would suggest is maybe spending 20 to 30 bucks on like a cheap sleeved extension kit that covers everything your 24 pin your GPU your CPU little things like that I've said a million times but it's so true can make your system look ten times better and if you wanted my personal opinion I would just go with a plain black kit because everything else in your system is more or less already blacked out you know just like I told the last guy depending on how important or how much you prioritize gaming performance frame rate I would suggest upgrading your GPU before anything else if you can plus your rise in five thirty six hundred can definitely handle much faster cards without bottlenecking or anything like that thank you very much Steve let's move on to Viloria Verizon 720 700 X ACS prime X 470 pro 216 gig Corsair Vengeance 3200 speed kit 500 gig WD blue one terabyte Samsung 970 Evo Asus do levo OC r TX 2070 super corsair carbide 100 r and some of all right let's take a look here you've got a rising seven system very high end GPU and probably the worst cable management that we've seen so far today the back side actually looks better somehow than the front I would assume that's just because you have very limited space to work with back here looks like there's maybe quarter of an inch if you're lucky so I get that I feel that you know I feel you I'm on your side here but is that a string that's a string that's like a rope that you've tied to your GPU to eliminate sag and what is it with ACS cards I feel like ACS cards are always sagging but you know whatever works if it works it's not stupid right they do sell like dedicated hardware sag brackets that you know can can fix to your expansion slots there that look a lot nicer and a bit more elegant of a solution than a rope but like I said this works and it's free unless you had to buy the rope but going back to the cable management here I think what this points to is the need for a new case I mean what is this the Corsair 100r is that what this is the 100-hour is it's a nice fine case but it's very budget it's like what 50 or 60 bucks and you've got a 20-17 r-tx 20 70 super in here and horizon 7 CPU so I would assume that you maybe had this case from an old build or maybe you've got a really good deal on it I can't imagine that you bought all of this together at the same time because it just seems like a very low-end chassis to fit all of this high-end hardware into but you never know maybe you had your reasons for picking this case for this particular setup but I do think that it's fairly limited in in terms of air flow all you're getting is this little strip of ventilation on either side which is I mean even if it was you know completely open it didn't have the mesh in between all these slats it would still be really limited but beyond the slats you have this really tight mesh consisting of these tiny holes that we've seen time and again are not gonna allow much air to pass through for a lower-end build sure but considering the specs that you have in here I think this is an underpowered case for what you're working with so I would suggest getting a new chassis something with maybe a mesh front panel or just just at least better air flow in general that could also help with your cable management if there's more room behind the motherboard tray if you've got a power supply shroud and other nifty features like that let's talk about the loose color scheme you have here you've got blue on the Wraiths prism cooler I'm not sure if it's just blue static all the time or if it's going through the rainbow way but you just happen to take a picture while it was blue either way I'm not sure what to think about this extension right here it's the only looks to be the only custom sleeve extension or cable in the entire system and it is an interesting variety of colors you've got like white one strip of white to gold and these like for baby blue strips like I'm not sure if this is a work in progress if you're planning to spruce up the color scheme elsewhere in the bill down the line but it just kind of looks a little out of place I mean because everything else in the system is mostly black so it sticks out like a sore thumb and it doesn't really match with anything at the moment so not sure what the plan is for this but I personally think just like a regular probably just like the stock power supply cable a black cable would probably blend in a bit better and look a little nicer in my opinion but that's just me the power supply sticker is awful and it should be removed and just to reiterate how poor the cable management is in here I mean you've got your 8 pin EPS cable going completely across all the way across the motherboard before making it to the connector when it looks like even though it'd be a really tight fit from the looks of it you could have put that cable through this cutout routed it over your motherboard and had a much cleaner shot to the connector there on the corner but you know that won't matter if you're getting a new case anyway which again I highly suggest you do on the bright side Viloria you have great taste in fans ml 120 Pro beautiful your cables are disgusting but at least they're getting cool Shane Anderson Shane I'm a man Shane MSI gaming Pro Carvin you've got a rise in 1,700 X Corsair H 100 IG skill value 16 gigs of ram EVGA gtx 1070 TI Corsair RM 1000 which is an older model PSU and we've also got five Seagate Barracuda hard drives a WD black 256 gig m2 SSD inside of the cooler master cosmos - okay we got multiple pictures here let's just quickly go through them all okay hey old master on the back I've seen worse but you know it's definitely not super neat or anything but that's okay why this case I mean apart from an AO which almost any case these days fits in a io 240 millimeter rad why do you need this tremendously large case apart from that it also looks like it could use a good cleaning which is another end cater that maybe you had a completely different setup in here before it looks like you're going with a pinkish kind of theme here at least with the lighting and I could see on the motherboard you try to match that up as well or actually that's probably just the reflection of the case fan LED but I like where you're going with these fans I just wish there were more of them in the case to fill it up because it's so empty and cavernous and the system could use maybe a bit more lighting more even lighting in other areas so I don't know if you've got two more of those LED fans on top of the radiator that we can't see but flipping those to the underside where they're more visible and casting more light onto the components I think would be a pretty cool idea now it looks like you did the best you could with cable management but it still looks kind of awkward because of how big this case is so your GPU cables for example they have to travel all this way to get to the bottom grommet which in my opinion looks a little bit lengthy and a little messy I would have just routed it straight to this grommet back here that way you get a really clean short run so I would suggest if you're ever looking to replace your case down the line that you go with something a bit smaller like a regular mid Tower for example that would be able to house all of this hardware perfectly it would just make everything look a little more proportional and it would certainly take up a lot less space in your house next up we've got Josh who's bringing us our first Intel build of the day with an i7 8700 K as rongzi 370 extreme for motherboard GTX 1080 amp petition from ZOTAC 16 gigs of HyperX fury ddr4 2600 and NHD 14 cooler 500 gig SSD hard drive and some random corsair case ok let's take a look at this Josh okay the first thing I will say here what is happening with this cooler what's going on so the Noctua coolers apart from the black conditions that they've been rolling out recently which look awesome Noctua coolers in standard form are already ugly as it is and you know it's mainly because of the beige and brown fans they're just absolutely hideous but to then route the black fan cables over said fans in such a blatantly obvious manner is just ugly icing on the ugly cake it's just a disservice like what why you got to do not to it like that Josh you know what every cooler manufacturer is thinking right now not cool part of this is an extremely easy fix simply move the cables behind the fans if they won't reach behind the fans if they're not gonna cooperate then simply unmount and remount the fans in an orientation so the cables can be hidden underneath them fixing the color of the fans is a little trickier you'll either just have to replace them outright with black versions or you can spray paint them or try something like that but that's a bit more involved having said that you probably have bigger fish to fry here than what your cooler looks like as opposed to how much air it's actually getting from your case because this is a like you said some random corsair case i forget exactly is this a 200 R I think that's it right look at the side here oh yeah that's for sure it so this is again one of those budget Corsair cases that's not bad if you're putting you know some mid-range or budget level components in here but you've got you've got a pretty decent stack of hardware here core i7 8700 K which you know can get a little toasty if you're overclocking hard plus you've got that GT X 1080 amp edition the amp additions are factory overclocked they run quite a bit higher than their reference specs so consider treating these components to some lower temperatures by getting a case with better air flow and if you have lower temperatures in your system fans don't need to ramp up as much and guess what that helps acoustics as well so the noise levels go down temperatures go down everyone's happy so that's maybe something you can consider down the line also why-why-why are why the brown I don't get the brown corners on the on a knock to a fans why don't they come with black ones like they don't even really match the fans on the cooler is there something I'm missing here or am I just being a boomer get some black corners get some black fans get some sleeved extensions but before you do all that probably get a better case because even if this is a really nice you know not to a fan at the front here it's only gonna perform as well as the front panel of the case will allow and that's definitely not doing me any favors here alas build this from Vic yet with another Intel based system a core I nine ninety nine hundred K with a deep castle 360 e^x asus rog maximus eleven hero Wi-Fi ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1080 amp extreme it's the same GPU is the last guy except it's the extreme model of Corsair Vengeance lpx 32 gigs ddr4 3,000 memory and looks like we've got obsidian 1000 d what three fans on top are too small but I had to put one screw in each why why do you need a 1000 d hold on this is this is worse than the Kosmos to build look at how empty this looks do you live in here too where's the couch and why do you have these like little are those 80 millimeter fans why do they look so small are those just regular 120s no they're not they're like 92 millimeter fans or something what's going on here and they're like just like the cheapest bands with like the ketchup and mustard cable I don't understand I don't think I've ever been this confused looking at a system for starters why did you spend hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of dollars on a case for this apart from the a oh there's zero water cooling it doesn't look like you have many drives at all it's not even be ATX motherboard you can see the standoff hole right there for e-atx maybe you got a killer deal on this case or it was given to you and again just like with the cosmos 2 if you're under utilizing the space of a chassis this large cable management is not gonna look good you're gonna have cables running long distances out in the open without large radiators and reservoirs to cover them up and this what is this this looks like someone's guts just hanging out from your GPU that could have been routed a little better I think ok you know what I'm actually gonna try to give you some advice on how to make this work for starters I would ditch all the fans the fans are ugly they look super cheap and if you have a 1000 D you can probably afford some nicer fans whether you want to go RGB or not you decide for yourself but at least make sure they have black cables not ketchup and mustard so even if you do have to route them a long distance to get to the back of the motherboard tray but blend in significantly more and not look so god-awful also those cables like your 24 pin your your GPU in the CPU I think they need some retraining they look a little bent out of shape or maybe just get a fresh kit something that already comes pre-trained out of the box that'll look a bit nicer than what you have here the other thing I would suggest is maybe try moving that radiator to the top of the case because I think the tubing just looks a little bit too stretched out at the moment to the point where it kind of giving me anxiety like there's too much tension on it or something I'm sure it's perfectly fine functionally but it just looks a little bit tight so maybe relocating the red to the top of the case could look a bit nicer and the last thing I would say is even though cable management is gonna be really difficult in this situation you could try routing the cable fans in such a way where they're kind of like not daisy chained together but you sort of route all the cable fans together as if they're one giant cable and try to route them as close to the edges of the case as possible so that they're not just falling down and coming from every which way you might need some extensions or splitters to do that but I think it would be a smart move overall and ya get maybe don't buy such a big case next time alright guys that's gonna do it for now let me know what you thought about this episode of let's not call this Pitts my PC just just to avoid confusion because we already have my pimp my rig series which is something completely different and then Pitts my pcs reserved for awesome hardware so I don't know I'll think of a different name for this maybe if we do it again but let me know what your thoughts are if you'd like to see more of the Sepik content down below where I take a look at your rigs and give you some advice apart from that though thank you very much for watching this video so look before you go if you enjoyed it and get subscribed more tech content on the way also check out Bentley tech our merchandise store lots of things at the store for you to buy that is how stores work you give me money I give you something in exchange for the money and then hopefully you're happy with the thing you give me money for apart from that though guys thanks again for tuning in have a good one and I'll see you all in the next video
