Great storyteller. Check out his series called byzantium, there's usually a copy up on youtube somewhere.
part 4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPBz5q0n8LE
why is the entire video all skaky? it's as if it was filmed by a camera pointed at a TV, held by hand, and the person had ricketts or something
Nice program. A perspective not often available. Well done.
All of Romerβs docs are just awesome. Iβve watched this series at least 5 times. βTestamentβ series might be my favorite tho, definitely worth a watch.
Love this series and this man
Worth spending hours watching
Ahh ancient Egypt, one of my favourite bits of lore and culture for now and ever. And what a man to hear it from! A legend.
As a sidenote, I really enjoy most documentaries from the 1980~early 2000's the best. Film makers had the skill, but the medium isn't as overdramatized as we see more and more nowadays. No tense music like it's some sort of epic film half the time, a genuine script instead of copy paste from the web combined with bad jokes, and a host who has passion and dedication for the subject.
There are amazing modern documentaries for sure, you just have to look for em a bit longer.
