all right I don't know it's Wednesday night here last night I cleaned this pump up washed everything off and solvent got everything set out here everything you dry this is the old seal new seals and the seal kit here so first thing I'm going to do is I'm going to knock this old seal out then I have to set the shaft in there set the shaft in the pump without the seal there's these thin shims I got to set the preload on the tapered roller bearings with these here bolt the back cover on make sure that the shaft has no end place so that's what I'm gonna do I'm gonna get that shaft seal out of there and get the shaft set in the housing make sure there's no end play so hold on all right there I got it back in there and there's just a slight bit of drag on there the shaft seals out that's the shaft seal anybody thought that was in backwards look how heavy that sucker is yeah that's the that's the oil seal there that's just the dust wiper and yeah I screwed it up knocking it out with a screwdriver so that's that one other thing I wanted to show you is I last video I think I showed you I had this piece of tubing on there and I was talking to one of the old Oliver guys and he said don't do that he says this little pin here you put a side load on it'll bind it and it'll leak and I said well that's exactly what it did so I went and made this hose put on there and this was very neat looking but it ain't gonna work alright I'll bring you back alright I got the shaft knocked back out of it these are the shims I kind of stuck in there with grease so they don't wander off this is the rear bearing there's o-rings that go in these grooves alright the next thing is I have to change this seal here it's just a little teflon ring it goes in the shaft and I have to expand it over the splines and get it down onto here so and I have to put the new seal into this bore so hold on I'll bring it back okay I got that seal stretched up over here and it slid right down to there and then I got stretched up over this larger-diameter now get it down here in this groove now I have to collapse it back into that groove without breaking so I need a hose clamp is what I'm gonna put on there and get it shrunk back in hold on I'll bring you back all right I got the seals collapse back down in that groove and that's not anything I've come up with that's what John Deere tells you to do they say use 25,000 feeler gauge and a ring curse you know a gate or a radiator hose clamp so that's exactly what they tell you to do right there so I've got the seal collapse down in I got to drive the shaft seal in I've got these o-rings laid out in here these are all the square o-rings they go in there there is a breakdown it comes with the instructions on watch Oh ring z' you're supposed to have I've got them kind of separated into different sizes [Applause] gives you the part number and where they go but yeah more or less as they only fit in one place they're not there's not too many options so anyhow I'll set you up here and we can get the shaft seal in one thing you got a watch is this hole here is a drain it goes to this whole lot here and that's a 3/16 line that goes clear back to the transmission so if this inner seal leaks it's got to go out that and if you drive this seal in too far it'll cover that up so you don't want to do that so the object is to get it in just far enough that you can get the snap ring in the groove so all right I'll set you up here and I need to find the snap ring to someplace here there's a snap ring so I have to find that yep there it is there's a little snap ring to pry that out there with a screwdriver so all right I'll search up here notices it's heavier all on the inside outsides got the thin lip it's already got grease in it exceeded make sure there's nothing grease on the lip take that those plant off of here a little bit of grease on that all right we're gonna have to turn you around here coming after put you in the vise oh they're right that's good as close as I'm gonna get with my $19 tripod their shafts in bearing races next plastic next we need the back cover and I need to grease these o-rings so they stay in there hold on all right I got all the o-rings greased up because I got to turn that thing over and they have to stand their groove the shims are in there they're greased in and yeah let's see if we can make a mess it only goes on one way cuz there's these two little low rings and they're offset to the center so hold on I'll bring your brake back here ah forget one important thing forgetting these check files so you gotta go in there - all right see these those are the little check valves and those things are perfectly flat you can see the little wear mark they drop in these holes those are a good sign that there's no wear on this pump very little okay not a lot of moving parts in this thing that's good I guess it makes them reliable and try this one more time drop bolts in [Music] those all have to be torqued 75 but ya got plenty of grease on there so now we're gonna put it down to see I've got each one of these caps numbered there's four three there's a six that's marked there the back covers marked yeah I'm gonna all right
