- Say hello to Emmy-winning
Wildlife Educator, Coyote Peterson, who's brought along some of his unusual friends. (crowd cheering) So your new show - Wow! - Oh, what is it? - That's the biggest stick
buck, uh bug, I've ever seen! - Exotic log. - It's a stick buck. (laughs) I screwed it up. - It's a stick buck. Oh my gosh!
- Oh wow! - Wait so who do we have? - Pretty appropriate considering Sonic the Hedgehog team is in the house, but Doctor Robotnik, we're gonna need you to stay back from this one. This is a Pygmy African Hedgehog. - Can you touch it or is that gonna hurt? - You can, its spiky, go ahead. - Okay. - You just gotta be real gentle, see that? - Yeah, he attacked you. He attacked you there. - It's a little spiky, right? - [Kelly] It's okay. - But people think they're
related to porcupines. - He will rip your face off. - [Coyote] They're not, so
these quills don't come out. - Hi. - So, the little nose is under there. Let's see if we can get him
to move forward, oh, oh. - His teeth went (mimics
hedgehog) he was like, - He's like, "Don't get any closer." - We don't wanna scare him. - He senses Robotnik in the house right now.
- You think that is it? - Do you sense warmth from me? - He's also terrified of big
trees and sticks and stuff, so this is terrible.
- Stick bucks! - Okay. he's adorable. - Mhm.
- Yeah. - [Coyote] Do you wanna hold him? - [Kelly] Yes! - So, put your hands flat like this. - Okay. - Now, there may be some spikiness issues. - I don't care. - Just don't panic. - I've got toddlers, bro. (Jim tries to scare Kelly) - It's a great exfoliator. - So you will feel the little spikes. - It's okay. - That is you holding a hedgehog. - [Kelly] Hi buddy. - [Coyote] Pretty cool, right? - [Kelly] Hi. (crowd cheering) - I don't know if he's getting
blocked by this stick buck. We'll move the stick buck down just a little bit.
- [Kelly] Okay. - So I think the real test though, is can mini-Sonic - HA! - be held - HA! - [Coyote] by Doctor Robotnik? Jim you want to try? - [Ben] Get him away! - That is not the right
way to rub a hedgehog. - Hi, Hello.
- [Jim] Get back! - [Coyote] I don't
know, what do you think? - [Kelly] I think, I think,
Jim, I think you can do this. I think you can do this. - You're gonna have to
break character here. - I wanna do it. - Let's do it. All right, so keep your hands, - It's not sharp at all. - Bring you hands flat, put them there. - (sings) ♪ Loving hands
- Oh look, he's walking around now. - [James] Here comes the poster shot. - Be careful, he might spin-dash. - [Kelly] All right, well
what's the next animal? - Say bye to Sonic. Robotnik, can I have it back? do you think it's okay? - Bye Sonic. - Aw, You found your soulmate. - No, don't he's ripping my flesh off. (crowd swoons) - I think he might have
licked you a little bit. He likes you, that's a good sign. - He knows I like to lick. - Aw. I didn't get licked. (crowd cheering) - Two lickers. - Why didn't you lick me? - All right, we're gonna swap out, we've got a new animal coming in. (crowd laughing) - I don't care. - Pretty sure it's saliva. - So this next one, - Wipe it on me. - This next one's called a Panther Chameleon, right? - [Kelly] Whoa. - Jim, I think that your
gonna hit it off with this one because he's an eye actor as well, right? So, I saw you doing the weird
- Can he do this? - He can move each of his
eyes individually, right? So let's bring him in here. - Because they're on
opposite sides of his head. - Hey, buddy, how are you? Let's see. - Do they keep getting bigger? - And transfer. - Oh, that's beautiful. - You're beautiful. - How cool is that lizard, right? - [Kelly] Can I hold him or no? - You absolutely can hold him. - [Kelly] Okay. - [Coyote] So you see how his little hands are like oven mitts?
- Yeah. - You just wanna let him
walk onto your shirt. - Ben's gonna do the
voice-over on this one. - I'll do the voice of this. - Okay, you do the voice of this. - What's this persons name? - Aw, you're so cute. - Uh, it's a Panther Chameleon. - [Ben] Hey Kelly, what's goin on? (crowd laughing) Oh, your hands are so
warm, where have they been? What have you been doing? - [Kelly] Look how cool the colors are. - Oh, thank you. They're blue, and green, and blue. (crowd laughing) - You kind of sound like one of the Sesame Street characters. I'm trying to pin point. - Today's word is colorful. (crowd laughing and cheering) - [Ben] Aw, thank you. - [Kelly] Anybody wanna hold? - [Coyote] That's pretty cool, right? - I guess I bested Jim's idea. - Oh, is he gonna climb up my arm? - So lets do this, we're just gonna let him walk out on this log for a minute. - He's gotta strong tail. - And continue to be a part of the scene, but were gonna bring in
something a little creepier. - [Kelly] Okay, I'm okay. - [Coyote] And you stay there, okay? - [Ben] Beauty. - [Jim] I can hold him if you want. If you want me to hold him I can. - [Coyote] If he starts
taking off, I'll jump in. - [Kelly] Look at him,
he's got his arm out like, "I dare you, touch me, touch me." - [Coyote] Let's just leave
him there for a second, and let's just bring out
the Tailless Whip scorpion. - [Kelly] Okay, what did you say? - Tailless Whip Scorpion. It's not a true scorpion. - [Kelly] Cool. - It is an arachnid, so they don't sting. They're not venomous, but they're just about as creepy looking as it gets. It seems like something
that Doctor Robotnik probably would have conjured
in his robot factory. - [Kelly] Yeah, because you're evil. - [Coyote] This is a good inspiration. All right, lets see, there it is. - [Jim] Oh my Gosh, wow. - And so this one obviously can't, obviously it doesn't have a stinger, so. - [Coyote] It doesn't.
= [Jim] Wow. - So, up front you have
these modified legs, that are called pedipalps,
they have spikes on them. So kinda like a Praying Mantis. It just shoves its food into its mouth, and little tiny mouth
parts break it apart. (crowd laughing) - Right, exactly, that's the move. - [Ben] Oh, very good, Jim. - [Coyote] So James, put
your hand out, James. This is completely safe for you to hold. These are sensory organs,
they're modified legs so he can sense everything. - He eats human nipples. - Okay, good, not fingers. - Wouldn't this one eat
this because it's an insect? - I mean, it's not impossible
that that could happen. It just makes for good television. - [Kelly] No, I would cry, do not do it! You get your arm away. - No, no, no, I'm getting it further away. - It's nature. - [Ben] (chameleon voice)
Yeah James, let me see it! - I'm going to put up a guard there. - I'm okay with nature, but
- It's just nature. - It is looking at it like, "Hmmm, that could be something" - Yeah, this looks yummy.
- That is crazy. - How long is the tongue? - About to here - He sounds like Elmo. - James I think you're safe
if we keep that right there. - Okay what do we have here? - This is a Bearded Dragon,
now it may be covered in all kinds of spikes and look like it's going to take your finger off, but this is one of the friendliest lizards on the face of the planet. So, the strawberries that are here, Jim, good thing you
didn't eat all of them, because we're going to see if we can get Beardy here to eat some strawberries, you wanna try? - Oh, can I do it? Yeah! - Yeah just kinda put it
out flat in your hand. Here let's put a couple.
- Okay. - Let's give him some options, right? - Not like that. - Okay. I don't care, he can bite me. - This may or may not happen, we'll see. He's looking at them, maybe if I eat a piece he'll It's good. - [Ben] You want the voice for this guy? - You know I have lotion on
maybe my lotion is throwing him. You wanna try? - [Jim] Could be the lotion - Put the lotion in the basket. - (bearded dragon voice)
Hello guys it's me. - Yeah, Ben, let's get a voice. - Can I have a strawberry real quick - Yeah - I just feel like this twig
has not been fed at all. (Kelly and audience laugh) There you go, buddy.
- [Kelly] He's not hungry. - [Coyote] All right lets do
this you look like a statue you're not doing anything
and we want you to - Do something. - All right! - [Coyote] Like a dragon nope don't you go off the front of that table. - [Kelly] I feel like I walk
like that way after drinking. (audience laughs) just like - On all fours? - Trying to find my way to the bed. I'm like, "I'm going to make it." - Here, Jim, why don't you hold him? - Why don't you put him right there. - Let's put him right there. That's even better. Bearded Dragons actually
love to sit on shoulders. - That's a great accessory. - You are so cool. - Does he have a, uh, - [Kelly] Look at him, look at his face. He's looking at you. - How's his appetite for earlobes? - We look like we're about to find out. - On Showtime, right? - [Coyote] Do you want
to have a strawberry? - Hi, Ace Ventura, nice to meet you. (audience laughs) - [Kelly] All right, so we have
a baby anaconda next right? - Yes, I will take Beardy
here off of your shoulder. - [Kelly] Baby anaconda. - We're going to bring in - [Kelly] I like baby anything. - Well you think about an anaconda, right, this is one of the planets
largest snakes, right? They can grow up to 25
feet in length in the wild, but what does a baby one look like, right? A baby one looks just like this. - They can be just as
poisonous as the adults. - [Coyote] Actually, not
poisonous or venomous - [Jim] Really? - No it's a constrictor
species so they wrap. - I've never met you before
so you can say anything. - Well you can't necessarily trust a snake right out of the gate. - Well they can wrap
themselves around you and like you know, you'll suffocate to death. - They can, they're constrictors, that's how they kill their prey, and a little tiny one like this - I'm going to put that in
my pants and go dancing. (audience laughs) - Maybe the next one because
you know what's better than a baby anaconda? - Hi. - [Coyote] An adult anaconda. - He looks like he's
been dipped in baby oil. - He's very, very smooth and soft. Here, you can feel him.
- He's cool. (audience cheers) - Oh, I'll hold this one. - You hold this one.
- I'll hold this one. - Everybody take a small step back let's lay him out on the table - Are they friends? - They don't eat each other right? - [Coyote] They will not. - I'm just taking a small step back. - You sounded like, "Probably not." - Can touch this on the
back, is that all right? Hey, Coyote, can I touch this over here? - You can, Ben, it's completely
safe to touch down there. - Oh my god it smells terrible. - Just run your hand in that direction. - Hey, buddy, wow. - Wow that's beautiful. - [Coyote] Pretty cool right? - That's like, oh, is he? Oh okay, I thought he was in my sleeve. I was like, "Oh, bro, we got an issue." I thought he was inside my sleeve. - He likes this material. - Yeah he's doing great,
um, I don't feel like I need to touch him because Jim
is doing it for both of us. - Right. - I'm just holding down baby right here. - [Coyote] So people
are terrified of snakes, it's called ophidiophobia, right? - Do they like being petted? - They do they do this is great enrichment for this snake. This is a great - Oh my god, he's getting
strong, he's getting strong. - The little one? - Yeah he's getting strong. He is going after the bicep
if there was one there. - Wow. - [Coyote] He just likes you. - Yeah, yeah.
- It means he likes you. - Look right behind you. - Well thank you so much, Coyote. This is awesome. Don't miss Coyote's new show, "Coyote Peterson: Brave The Wild" on Animal Planet network, y'all. We'll be right - It's a cave.
- Oh my god. We'll be right back with what I'm liking. (funky music)
