Jensen Ackles Body Language Analysis

what's going on guys nick here with another body language analysis this time of the lovely jensen ackles i love this guy to death he's incredibly charismatic incredibly charming and quite handsome i might say um i take after him a fair amount as i'm sure you could tell anyway i haven't done a video in a long time i apologize for that i just moved in a new place so i'll be significantly more consistent from here on out without further ado let's get into the analysis [Applause] [Music] now all right right off the bat we see a couple of very interesting behaviors basically if you've been watching at least one of my videos at this point you know that the second somebody gets started with an interview there's a lot of stress they're usually you know a lot of lights going on a lot of sounds crowd cheering and so on and so forth and so the stress levels are a little higher and we almost always see that reflected in a body language change in this case jensen ackles who i will say is like super super on top of his body language for the most part gives in here and at that kind of peak level of stress he engages in pacifier number one which is him rubbing his knees very brief notice how it's like so fast and so minor and immediately after that he's good to go we'll watch a couple seconds and see what else we can pick up on it's hard to believe that your show has been on 13 seasons now how long have you been on youtube 15 seasons yeah you got me beat i'm just trying to keep up with you that's a lot of season it's a lot of seasons a lot of tv all right a little thing here and something that probably not too many people will pick up on is his chest and how it moves up and down due to the deep breaths that he's attempting to take to calm himself so you can see that happen again right here coming right up and he's also swallowing a fair amount which is something that people that are kind of in the throes of nervousness or anxiety typically do you're going to want to look um basically right for men anyway the adam's apple for women the area kind of where that would be if they were men you'll see this kind of bolus move up and down people tend to uh to do that swallowing behavior it's a relatively i guess prominent anxiety symptom when they're kind of back into a corner and they're feeling a little bit of anxiety a little more nerves than usual but yeah i do how are you when you started doing the show uh let's see what i'm 13 years i gotta do the math here so it was a 27. so because i just turned 40. jensen ackles is also very good at understanding where the camera is on him as you see it back here the second he gets asked a question we start to notice movements of his arms but we can't actually see what his hands are doing because it's off screen he probably knows this not saying that he factored this into his body language analysis he's not like playing 4d chess with us but he probably has a decent understanding of kind of where his body is cut off and then you know what parts of him are visible and you see that the second that jimmy kimmel here asks him a question those movements kick up a little bit and right around here he starts moving his hands around a lot right around the same time that he starts looking at what i presume to be the lead camera which is something a lot of people do on these interviews when they're kind of nervous or maybe at the very beginning of an interview when they're still kind of getting settled in they love to look at that lead camera to inform them hey how am i looking am i sitting okay do i look kind of weird or anxious and stuff like that is this feedback loop and you see right when jensen apples does this his hands move around a fair amount again they're moving off camera so we can't see that pacification you can also see that chest moving up and down as well it happens very slightly here with him but just more evidence again that his heart's pounding he's obviously very good at concealing that heart pounding uh kind of nature but especially in a stressful situation like this you know we see that chest kind of go up and down and up doesn't know that he has a massive chest someone just goes wow [Laughter] that was good or bad that could be digging either way yeah i'm guessing good though look by just brief little pacifier there you can tell it's a pacifier because it's basically a completely unnecessary movement a lot of people engage in stuff like this but just to point it out here he receives some kind of stimulus then he kind of takes a limb here makes a joke or something like that and usually when people take a risk and go out on a limb like that when they receive validation that their joke hit there's usually a little bit of stress relief with pacification like we saw with him in his jacket judging by your face i'm gonna say good well thank you um what did you do for your 40th birthday did you have a big celebration uh i have four four of them well my wife thought it was you know she's like oh you'll do a surprise party and so uh we had this great little surprise dinner it was day after my birthday and uh and i thought that was great that was it awesome great little nose touch there that can also be a pacifier although i do find that a lot of actors do little teeny tiny behaviors like that just to make themselves seem a little more real i mean keep in mind that most of the people on my show are actors right they're people that specifically get paid in order to make people perceive them in a certain way so usually when we see somebody kind of engage in in one of those behaviors half the time you know this is kind of like a practice behavior maybe just like a byproduct of his acting or kind of a take that he engages in on a fairly often basis or it's a pacifier good times then the next day it was another surprise uh and it was another another afternoon type of uh type of thing and then uh so that was great good done i should say the first one the very first one was i would say at this point more or less all of his pacifications are gone he's incredibly confident he's incredibly good on screen especially in these interviews he kills it i don't know why he's not in more major movies but that confidence i think has now settled into like a good flow where we don't see those pacifiers occur anywhere near as often from here on out so that's all i'm going to say i hope you guys enjoyed that jensen ackles body language analysis uh jensen nichols is an incredibly confident charismatic man as i'm sure you guys could tell there was very few things that i thought prudent to pick up on and gonna show you but what you can learn from this and a couple of key takeaways are that one people that are incredibly confident and that do have strong body language usually are more likely to engage in or rather are usually more likely not to show behaviors than to show behaviors so the absence of low value body language is just by default high value body language and you'll notice that over the course of that interview a lot of his behaviors are very slow and kind of sweeping and that's something usually that people that are close to the top of that food chain engage in right they they're they're not very worried about you know how people might perceive them they're very slowed down kind of lackadaisical almost and that's something that jensen ackles embodies to the fullest in his work hope you guys enjoyed as always like comment and subscribe it is really nice getting back into the
