Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
That's solo jazz (charleston falls under it). It can be taught on its own, or you can learn lindy hop (which belongs to the family of swing dances, and is a social partner dance), and you'll likely learn solo jazz moves, too.
Looks like a mix of a little of everything including jive.
That reminds me of the Shorty George number with Fred Astaire and Rita Hayworth.
that is exactly what I think I look like while dancing at weddings. According to recently released footage... not the case
Adding to the other comments (you're looking at solo jazz with lindy hop and charleston basics) - here's a video of Alphabetical Jazz Steps, many of which you see in this video (1st guy does Lockstep, 2nd guy does Suzie Q's, etc).
Your video has free styling and mixing all of these moves to live music, which looks much cooler than the stand-alone moves in the Alphabetical video. The dancers in your video also have a ton of lindy / charleston / balboa / shag / jazz steps experience which lets them pull off all these moves from muscle memory (and the inspiration of the music phrasing).
There is def some Charleston moves in there.
Oo I actually know this one!
Try takesomecrime or justsomemotion, the latter particularly has tutorials that are amazing for this style. Essentially any electroswing dancer dances like this though
I know this is a very old post but to answer the question " what type of dance this is?" Judging by the guys YouTube posts that originally posted this vid? He calls the dance stlye "swing"? I know thats the type of music as well but I'm thinking the dance is called that as well
Reminds me of a routine by Rita Hayworth and Fred Astaire
